Best tips I can give when in class is to sit in the front and be active in the lesson. If you don't understand something, challenge your teacher to explain themselves and that'll benefit you and your classmates. It's not about being the know-it-all but rather it shows that you're taking your class seriously.
It may sound silly, but if you have the opportunity to take an improvisational acting class you should do so. It's amazing what it will give you in terms of confidence, projection and communications skills.
I have really changed my personality , thanks to you.. now I feel more confident and I hold my self respect without becoming rude.. life long thankful to you
Thanks for this video, Antonio. I'm an introvert, and I tend to avoid what feels like intruding or imposing on others. I find that the thing I have to work on is approaching groups of strangers. The tip you gave regarding physical space between individuals as an indicator to what kind of conversations to join into was on point. Also, I wasn't even aware about perceived weakness when lingering in boring conversations. Ironically I feel selfish if I leave a conversation when other people are in the middle of speaking. As an artist I tend to let my work do most of my talking, but that's made me complacent.Thank you so much for providing us with this free masterclass. I'd love to check it out and improve on making a pressence and commanding respect & attention.
I assume he was referring to business settings and such. If you show up to a camping trip in a tuxedo, it'll be inconvenient for yourself and the people with you.
Antonio, dude. You are seriously doing God's work. I have learned a lot from you man, from fashion to character development skills. Kudos to you man. :)
Wow, your dad must've been so respectable. I'm sorry to hear that. Don't worry too much about weakness; it's okay to cry! Just identify and emulate what you respected most about your dad.
Yes! I interact with a person who CONSTANTLY does this, often hijacking the conversation to add some esoteric tidbit of knowledge, and then redirecting the conversation to fit with her agenda. I have dreaded being in meetings or conversations with her, as it takes twice the effort to get the meeting agenda, or even a basic conversation, back on track to the subject that needs addressing. I think she does this as a smokescreen to avoid receiving an assignment.
As a referee in field hockey this is also very usefull. You want to have the respect from the beginning so your autorithy is being listened to and have control over everyone on the pitch to have a nice and safe game.
So i'm a really young woman (22yo) working in a man industry being an assistant manager and the youngest of the company.... that makes it very hard for me to be listened and taken seriously... hopefully this helps !
The crazy but yet normal thing in society is that if you're a loner, it's going to feel like you are stuck. I moved back to my hometown and never had much friends, the small amount of friends I had, moved out. I tried making connections at events and it's shocking to see how people react when you tell them or notice that you are by yourself, they change the way they act towards you and makes you feel like you committed a crime, as if they have all the power. It's RARE to find someone that wants to befriend a loner because most people now days don't have the courage to go to public places by themselves. So once you've reach 0 local friends, it will be ridiculously hard to get the ball rolling again.
Come in wearing two six shooters...wide brimmed hat optional. When entering a bar, buy everyone there a drink....instantly loved....hehe. All kidding aside but I always default to listening first, respond thoughtfully. Be impeccable with your word. When others are gossiping about someone speak well of that person instead.
Man...Its so complicated. I remember my childhood days when I could literally just walk up to another child and ask them to play, and we were best friends for the next hour.

I'm going to have my british airways work experience interview later this month. I bet one of the activities will be a group task. Thank you soooo much for the video. I really appreciate it. I have a question: how do you know what video to produce and at the right time?
A question, and maybe an idea for a video: how can you build a good crew? I have become a lone Wolf, a hardline lone Wolf, over the years and do not know how to change.
I was just listening to a song by Curtis Harding: "I need a friend" It's a good thought for a video, and an important topic. We're all dying of loneliness in the modern world. You're not alone. Thanks for reminding me of that. What do you love, and can you be a part of it?
@@Cale_Davison Good morning Mr. D., I love photography and I am wanting to do it full time, (and to say goodbye to my computer servicing job). A crew of a female model, or two, an e-commerce guru, a marketer, a Business Manager….the list goes on and on, and that a crew like that would be a Dream come true. I had a quick listen to Chris Harding and “I need a friend” on iTunes and yes, that is a good thought for a video. Check out “You’ve got a friend” by James Taylor and or Carole King; also on iTunes. @@brentkingstonphotography4615 Thanks for reminding me of an old favorite tune (both versions are nice), and the thoughtful response from you. A fine day to you, sir.
I know I'm the outlier, but I wear a tie and jacket pretty much everywhere. Is that a faux pas? It's how I'm most comfortable, and I've been doing it since I was 16. It's my "thing", and people even identify me with it: I'm "that suit and tie guy". I know there are times it may seem a little out of place, but not as out of place as shorts and sandals at a dinner, imho. I have a casual way of wearing it, though - I'm perfectly comfortable in it, usually loosen my tie a notch and unbutton the top button, indicating "I'm serious, but relaxed". I don't do flamboyant colors or patterns, its always simple, clean, classic basics. I shouldn't ask, as there's clearly 0% chance I'm going to change this, after 30+ years. ;)
