  • During a recent trip to the Smoky Mountains with the Kawasaki Concours 14 Enthusiast Facebook Group during our "Catch Me If You Can" Ride Rally, a friend and I really didn't want to leave to return home, so we stayed and extra day. Earlier, we had tried to do this road, but got rained out. A day or two later, we made this run over the Cherohala Skyway. This is our ride back. The road was completely empty. I had forgotten how nice this road really was from earlier runs, years before.
I disabled the audio because the wind noise was annoying, but I did add a great song called Bleu (Original Mix) by Worakls. What a great song.
    Enjoy

This is a beautiful ride anytime of the year but especially in the fall. I am lucky enough to call this part of Tennessee home and live only about a 45 minute ride from the skyway.

One of my favorites rides. Several times via motorcycle one time Z51 Corvette. I just hit 600 miles on my Concours. Time to go again.

I took my connie 14 this past may! The skyway is by far one of the best roads! Great sport touring!

I now own a Concours 14 and have taken it across the Cherohala. Thanks for the inspiration!

There are so many more up the Parkway that are actually more fun. Like NC80, NC197, NC226A, NC215 & 276.

I totally agree. This is one of my ZEN riding videos. I'll never forget this run. Defiantly try the Cherahala Skyway too. In another response, I suggested you try NC 226A up to Little Switzerland, NC. This was just as fun as the ZEN RIDE.

Someone tell me more about the catch me if you can rally. That sounds like fun. Also is this road near the tail of the dragon?

Looks like it was a great ride. I have to ask, what is with the etch-a-sketch on your bars?

risky riding on a nice road. Easy to encounter deer in your path or something in the roadway with little time to react at these speeds. I own the same bike, i would say slow it down if you don't want to get hurt. Good luck.

Sounds like you don’t take risks. Why have this bike if you’re going to ride it like a scooter. I’ve been riding these roads for a decade and understand and dress for the risk.

The Etch A Sketch is a joke. Learn how to laugh. As for the other stuff, obviously you’re a fashion hound and are more worried about what others think instead of having a functional bike. This was a week long, 2590 mile run where I led 15 other riders on 285 mile plus remote mountain roads off the beaten track. This day was after everyone else left. I’d put money that you’re a couch rider !! The bike now has 80,000 miles. The year before, we did 3600 miles through the Appalachian Mountains. How about you. You trailer your bike?
