    The wing might be stalling, Possibly reducing the size of the control surface will work. Having that long surface end at a tip may be causing tip stall at the end of the elevon. from a top view it is almost a 1/3 of the wing deflecting air flow, food for thought. ABSOLUTELY NAILED it on the design. Awesome job!

    It's really cool to see the batwing fly. I'm glad that you have gotten the battery compartment and vertical stabs(hopefully) figured out. Just my opinion here, I'd somewhat reduce the length of the two cones on each side of the bat. compartment. I say this because I know that you wanted the simmetry with the wing tips and still get the cg. It does look just a touch odd. I hope to get the plans when you're finished. What an excellent creation!!
    AirHammer out!!

    • @hotlapkyle
      @hotlapkyle  4 місяці тому

      Wish I could! I kept the battery compartment (nose) as short as possible! It’s literally long enough to fit a heavy battery to balance the cg

  • @nipperdog7777
    @nipperdog7777 4 місяці тому +1

    I have a feeling that with so much wing in front of the CG when the wing goes down with a negative angle of attack it just nose dives. I'm thinking some canards would help. Start small and work your way up. Also, I would suggest testing out what is happening. Hold throttle level flight, pitch down past 0 angle of attack. And maybe start three mistakes high.

  • @StevensStijn
    @StevensStijn 4 місяці тому

    Maybe on the down direction, the Profile enforces a stronger pull on the elevators. Are the Servos strong enough to hold that? You got a large leverage surface there (elevator had a prolonged surface area with a strange bend in it, which creaties a strong angle of attack. But That should work in Both directions)

    Like the SR-71 the wind blanks out the airflow over the surfaces when the conditions are right. Make some slots in the wings to ensure airflow stays flowing over the wing and surfaces. Flying wings like 15% CG

    Could the front of the bat wings which are way in front of the CofG be causing the nose dip? When in goes into a negative angle to the airflow they act like paddles to push the nose faster down?

    are you using spektrum electronics? They program weird glitches and errors into their stuff. One of the errors they do is very similar to what you are having. I had that happen to me on a turbo timber. everything was going good then out of nowhere it just nose planted into the ground.

    Been flying for many years. Watching your plane, do that nose down. I've seen that many times usually a glitch in the radio, but with the using escs. Now, sometimes the ESC has a in the BC circuit has a glitch, and it'll cause your service to flip down a little bit. It only happens for like a hundredth of a second, but at that speed that's long enough

    Only dives correcting a left turn? How about elevons? In a left turn the right one is down - to level out the left goes down so a sticking down right will cause this.

    • @MrMagoo321
      @MrMagoo321 4 місяці тому

      Hey that's possible but one thing. We all saw him moving the control surfaces with no sticking and he and I and many modelers have assembled many planes with this in mind and always inspect for that. I really don't think Kyle would miss that. Maybe if he moves his sticks slowly he could see either a servo glitch or a control surface behaving strangely somehow. If it was sticking like you say it would do that every time he corrects out of a left banking turn which almost all of his turns were. The way that thing is behaving I think it's a servo glitch in one of them. I bet he is moving gear around from plane to plane so maybe those servos experienced a crash and got internally damage on the little tiny circuit board inside?? IDK you idea is still a possibility but like I said I don't think he would overlook that. My zagi did that after numerous midair crashes and flying into a tree one day when my friend made me a gentlemans bet that I couldn't fly between the two trees without hitting one. I made it the first time.....
