Thanks for the information & parts needed great video
Been looking this is the only video linking hoses thank you
Good stuff.
Thank you.
I have one of those and it heats my entire ranch style 1250 square foot house. I don’t use it as a primary source of heat, but it’s great for when the power goes out! The fan isn’t worth it or necessary at all.
You do have to hold the pilot light button down for a couple of minutes, so be patient.
Don’t forget to use a regulator and at least a 100# propane tank. (Approximately 7 gallons.)
How many hours does a 100 pound tank last? Thanks.
Also you might want to check your heater instructions, on mine it said to remove the thermostat and place it on another hole to the back side of the heater. It said that the thermostat is placed in the lower recessed area for shipping purposes
I will have to check it out. I dont remember it saying anything but I could have missed that. Thanks for the information.
It will be easier to move if you place frictionless pads on the feet of your heater. You could move it around with little effort
I noticed on Tractor Supply's website that Mr Heater propane heaters like that you get a fan free with purchase. I don't know exactly how or if one actually does.
the fan hardly does anything. Not saying it's not worth it. But 99% of the reviews, say that fan doesn't do much. You're better off having your own fan running over or near the heater.
My 3/8 90 degree piece is leaking Gas from where it screws into the heater even with tape. I have tried 3 different 3/8 flare types and they all leak from where it screws into the heater and not where it connects to the gas line. What can I do to seal the leak.
The only thing I have used is tape and it works fine for me. They do make a liquid style tape that you brush on. That may help seal up your leak. You could also run a tap on the threads of your heater to make sure they are clean.
@@cbadventures8996 I used ample amount of the propane grade tape. But the liquid one sounds like a shot. Do you have a link or something so I can find it?
They pop and crack so much after it shuts of you can’t sleep.
How good is the stainless steel holes with the heater
I have had zero issues so far. I got it mainly for the abrasion resistance and the fact it has a guage is a plus. I would still reccomend it after several uses.
@@cbadventures8996 Thanks man Imma have to get me one
Did you build the stand cause your wall was getting hot ? I got a 30000 btu and my wall get so hot I turn it off
I built the stand so I could use it in my shop and in my house both. I never noticed my stand getting hot.
@@cbadventures8996 What I mean is that I hung mine on my wall and it gets so hot it seems like it's going to catch on fire that's why I'm going to build a stand like yours.. Good job nice stand build
I hear the motor blower is a waste of money. They claim is does not make too much of a difference.
I also read that a lot so I ended up not getting the fan. I have used this a few times and heats my area well without a fan. I use this mainly when the power goes out so after thinking about it a fan that needs to be plugged in would be useless for me.thank you for the comment
Save your money on the internal fan and just use a small plug in fan to circulate air in the area. If concerned about use in power outages by a ryobi 18volt battery fan. These heaters are fantastic! Thanks for posting.... same setup as I have only I have the foot kit.
Sounds like it would cost nearly $400. with all the necessary additions and around $800 montly. Might be good for emergency's. Is my math wrong?
I believe at the time I built this I had maybe 250 dollars in the whole build. It's been a while but I believe that's what I had wrapped up in it.
I only use this just a few times a year. Mainly when we have a power outage and my furnace isn't running. For my situation it has been worth every penny.
I also see these heaters for sale on Facebook marketplace for pretty cheap so that would help a person save some money on it.
Hey , where did you get your parts for the hoes hook up? Can you send me a list of every part you used to hook up the propane tank please. Thank you
I got everything off Amazon.
Brass 90 degree elbow with 45 degree flare fitting 3/8" flare tube x 3/8" male thread.
12 foot regulator hose with 3/8" female flare fitting.
Gas line pipe tape.
I hope this helps
Lowes has those parts too. You want to use the black pipe, not regular galvanized.
definitely get the regulator / hose off Amazon. Much better selection and prices.
