I was always told you don’t tape or putty a tapered fitting as these are meant to put on and take off. I’ve owed many propane heaters and never taped or puttied the tapered end with never an issue.
You are correct
thx for the product links so thoughtful
Thank god someone knows how this heater works . Great video. The other guy scared the hell out of me 10 seconds in.
What is the size and part of that 90 elbow put on at the bottom of the heater?
Why no adjustable regulator w/0-3psi gauge? And you don't put dope on flared fittings.
100# u don't dope flared fittings
yeah there isn't a lot of info out there regarding when to use the pipe dope or not. I use yellow gas tape, is that safe?
excellent video. I wanna see more. thank you. p.s. you now have 8,540 subs!!! woo hoo. Stay Lovely ya'll.
You should have got a radiant heat flames make the area get a slight orange tint on ceilings and walls near the area they are in I had a flame one in my garage for 2 years had to repaint ceiling and walls in that area and only ran it during the winter time I know have a 30000 btu radiant heat with bricks works really nice have had it like 7 years just getting a little color on ceiling this year but any bad gas ovens or heater all do that
Very nice video. Thanks
I have owned gas vent less (both LP and NAT) for 35 years the biggest mistake is going too big, a 10,000 BTU will heat the same area depending on time it's running and if it's thermostat controlled or not. The best use of these heaters is in the spring and fall when we have warm days and cold nights. Empire is the best, Mr Heater and Dyna-Glo are good but have issues and need parts replaced after 2 years. Never get a dual fuel that can be switched between LP and Natural Gas, these may work great on LP but terrible for NG and a thermostat control is a MUST !
Does the Empire have any odor when running? Thanks
I haven’t seen a 10,000 BTU unit that is thermostat controlled.
Mannn ... It's hard to beat a 💪Rinnai when it comes to space heaters, especially the Lp ones 10,000Btu to 30,000 and everything in between. Their like the Romanian Ak-47 of space heaters. If, iT would burn when it was shutoff for the season or was disconnected from a galvinized service line with its' cut copper tube "flex-line" still attatched to it, then sat up in a dusty barn going on 12 years straight with rust replacing the original chromed hardware pieces....
it Will pilot and burn and work after reconnection. And From just a bared minimum bullshit Blower run over it.
I know this is true eventhough I never did one actually , I did Two! And the man who had the 2 ole brown Rinnais didnt use propane at his house or trying to unstore and use them. He thought they were junk to throw away that could never function again and I proved they would light again with a 5 gallon bottle and Rego B-9.
The longer they sat and just lettum burn the more they started clearing up to normal
🍺😎🚬💨
😂😂😂😂 yall are cracking me up with your comments on screwing the fittings in, lol.
If you are still taking questions.
Respectfully, I am just curious as to why you are putting thread sealer on the flanged area of the connection and not on the threads?
I was told in our HVAC class that the flange should be kept clean and free of any thread sealer or contaminants because the face on each part has to be smooth and meet up face to face. If any of the pipe dope (thread sealer) gets on either surface, it creates a tiny space between the flares and will eventually start to leak. If there are any nicks, chips, out of round or damaged flares or threads, then we should replace it and not to try to seal it with any kind of thread tape sealer or pipe dope. Is that something new that says to use it there?
I'm sure for as long as you've been installing and fitting, you obviously haven't had any issues, or you wouldn't still be doing it.
I don't mean this as to be disrespectful in any way or like I'm some kind of know it all. I was in HVAC class in 1995, but I lost one of my legs and broke four vertebrae in my lower back. That put me in a wheelchair before I actually got to use my skills. But I do try to help out family members and friends at times with my limited knowledge. Thanks in advance, and thanks for the video. I just walked my step-dad through installing one of these on the wall in my basement.
Again, great video, thanks
Thank you for your comment, and I appreciate it very much. As you may have seen in the video, I, the property owner am the novice. The young man who was helping me install it works for the propane company. I cannot speak for him and why he did that, but based on what you said, if I were you, I would rely on my training and knowledge because it sounds like great information. I assume you’re correct that if he had heard of any problems from what he was doing, he would have changed by now, but as you know it’s possible that he never heard back regarding any concerns. It makes complete sense to rely on the actual flange instead of putting anything on the surface that could potentially cause a leak. As of now we have not detected any leaks, and it has been approximately one year. Thank you for joining us at the lovely place. I hope to hear from you again. In addition, I’m very sorry to hear about the challenges that you have been going through and my prayer for you is that you will conquer every challenge and be stronger for having them. Based on what you said it sounds like you have already done so. God bless you and I hope you have a happy 2024.
@TheLovelyPlace Thank you for the prayers it's a long story besides what I mentioned earlier. Both arms were broken, half my ribs, and two bilateral fractures to my pelvis. God didn't do it. God allowed it because I believe that nothing under the sun happens without His approval. God didn't do it, God saved my life.
Satan can hit hard but the harder he hits just reminds me that he is only try to destroy my belief in God. The harder he hits is the harder he's trying and still he fails.
When I was witnessing in a Walmart store a young lady probably around 15-16 years old said to me, "Look at you all messed up and God didn't stop that from happening to you. Why do you still believe in Him?" I tolder that God didn't allow me to die. Of course she was like it would be better to be dead. I said that's because it's not you sitting here, I like living. I said look sometimes God allows bad things to happen to good people. Why would he do that she asked. I said it's a test to Satan's challenge. Satan knows he has to hit me hard. He can do whatever he wants to me but I know he can't kill me and that's how I know Satan is responsible. I'm not saying that bad things don't happen to nonbelievers but I know that I will be rewarded for my losses.
I apologize, I wanted to keep this short. Thank you again for the prayers. Subscribed ❤
@@1JamesHamilton1 in our weakness He is strong. God bless you my friend in Christ Jesus.
@TheLovelyPlace Yes, sir, you got that right. It reminds me of one of my old-time favorites. "Just A Closer Walk With Thee"
I misspoke when I said that, "I will be reworded." I meant to say that I will be restored.
What size of connections?
Is it ok to use pipe dope on flare end of fitting?
NO, you are watching idiots
NO
No!
Do I need to use a hose with a regulator if my 100 gallon residential propane tank has a regulator?
I bought a hose with adjustable regulator and then added a 0-3psi gauge to properly dial it in to 0.5psi

I have the Buddy and the Big Buddy heater for my garage. constantly having problems with spark and ignition. Too much time taking them apart cleaning and putting back together. Looking hard at the Mr Heater 20,000 btu hooked up to a 20# pig. Mr Heater says you HAVE to use a 100# tank with that unit. There is no way I can handle that weight at my age.
This is for my personal 1 1/2 car garage.
The big Buddy is 18,000 btu on high and does good down to 20° F but cannot keep up when colder than that. Hence me wanting to move up to 20,000btu.
How has your unit worked out for your space and any tips or suggestions? Thank you...
@@chadpatterson564 Hi I have the30,000 now in my kitchen. I have an old house by myself so all doors are open But I have the big propane tank outside. I bought a compressed air cleaner and vacuum to clean it. I know you can’t spray things around it or Use chemicals around it. Maybe turn it off if you have to use certain things and cover it ever thought of a woodstove? They have small ones. Good luck
