- All credit goes to the filmer for this incredible footage! I finally got around to putting a completionist version of this together on this lazy Sunday.
A few notes:
-Hopefully, if the filmer/uploader is viewing this, he can put out a complete version of both films on UA-cam. I don't make any money from any of my videos, so uploading this is purely for the love of the band. There's supposedly about 40 minutes and this video is about half of it. This deserves to be seen in the most unedited form, as this is some of the best LZ footage ever!!!!
-This is both UA-cam videos put together.
-I've resynced the whole thing with the circulating audience tapes, though I left the filmer's/uploader's recording in for a few spots in Whole Lotta Love as the sound quality was far better.
-There are two film sources here. A few clips that were originally in Communication Breakdown were actually from Good Times Bad Times (both cameras were running simultaneously for a few moments). I've elected to put the two sources together in order without splitscreens. The first source is a slightly wider aspect ratio than the second.
-The filmer/uploader put in a few title cards, transitions, repeated clips, etc. I've removed all of these in favor of a raw viewing experience.
OMG this is incredible. Thanks for all of your hard work in bringing this to us and thanks to the filmer. Id love to see all 40 minutes.
What happened with those 40 minutes? It's been a long time.
Thanks bro uploading this gem...
Thank you for doing this.
Guys can we all agree that this is the golden goose of all Zep footage? A clear audience recording and full on perfect footage of the band on stage playing in their prime no doubt. Plant and pages skills are hot and you got 40 MORE minutes of this ?? Cmon it can’t get any better than this !! Been waiting a long time and just felt like I went to my first Zep concert.
This is equivalent to The Holy Grail IMO
No. 40 minutes total.
Transported back to Tokyo ‘71. Amazing
Whatever
Why are there so few Led videos?
This is the best bootleg vid WITH sound Ive seen of Zep as they approached their absolute pinnacle of excellence (in 1972)
Fuck em
‘72 is also my favorite year 😎
I think that’s the year they all were the closest to at their individual peaks at the same time

Boy…we’ve come a long way, huh? My love affair w these Japan shows started in 1985 with the b&w picture disc set of Osaka 29.9.71. In fact all we had back then was; Zoso magazine by Taylor (I’ve still got all my mailings!) and Tight But Loose by Dave…and record shows. With the advent of the internet some 10 years later it made the world a small place. It’s absolute heaven for a Zeppelin fan-til-death such as myself. This footage I’ve been waiting for since those innocent mid eighties days. Thank you for posting it! My good mate over at LZ Boots told me about it being over here. I viewed it a year or so ago but it just popped up in my feed today. It’s such a pleasure to watch. Many thanks again.
I think I paid almost $40 for the record in 1985. 40 dollars was a small fortune back then.
It’s amazing to think how short lived yet impactful and game changing “that” plant voice was
Captured in their absolute peak. Incredible.
My God! Half a century ago footage of one of the greatest band in their prime :000
March 2023…
It’s still Glorious xxx
Thank you!
It's a gift! 😍 The era I would have lived...
Amazing that this is two years before the MSG concert. They kept getting better and better.
This movie is treasure for Japanese Zeppelin fans☝️
I wish we had the whole show
This is LIFE-CHANGING, sort of, but it is a REVELATION OF EPIC PROPORTIONS.
Thank you sir!!
bonzoleum Thank YOU Terry! Love your channel and videos!
it's really great at 20:03 when Plant leads the band into You Shook Me and it's clearly unplanned, Page needs a roadie to get him the slide. Then they deliver a perfect version of a song that was last a fixture of their setlists two years earlier!
F~a~n~t~a~s~t~i~c. The sharpest copy that I have seen of this show so far. Actually the most completed version that I have seen to date. You are the best LZF~
Rob/Boston
Amazing! Would love to see this in its entirety, but 20+ minutes is super!
A full version of this would've been awesome! Still this footage made my day especially during this covid 19 lockdown.
OMG this is stunningly fantastic!!! The poster backdrop is killer.
Closest thing I've seen yet to a full live version of Immigrant. SO much footage, SO many times they opened a show with it, yet they always seem to miss this one song. Thanks!!!
YOU DESERVE A GOLD ....LOVE FROM LONDON
Very cool great job thanks for this MARYLOU YA BABY
Thanks a lot for sharing this rare pearl! The best!
The band of my youth.
Why of your youth? Do you still reject them?
You bless me sir or madam, you truly do. To see these things is a gift i can never repay.
Amazing! The golden era when the spark was becoming a flame!
Came back for another whirl ...
Awesome!! Can’t thank you enough for sharing Led Zeppelin, over and over again 🍋💯🌹
Precious music document!
Amazing.
We never knew how good we had it.
Yes we did.
This is pure gold. I can't get enough of it.. Thank You A Million Times
Thank you very much for sharing this. 😊❤🔥
What a Great footage ,mate. Jimmy at the peak at his game .
Incredible!!!!
Whoa, Orange amps! Man am i sold on them!! My little micro terror i got gives me the sound i was always looking for. Definitely getting a bigger one at some point. It's got that tone.
Man, Japan just has always had some of the greatest rock and metal fans. God bless ya Japan!
Jezus man, unbelievable sooooo🎸🎸🎸🎤🎤 good!!!!
Great video 🙏🏻thanks for uploading
Yes thank you for posting.
Such an intense capture of this amazing band !! Wow and with the red dragon that night ...
Love your artwork 🖼 LZF❤️
Thanks we need this
Holy shit the energy … the beginning to Whole Lotta Love was the best I’ve ever seen…freakin amazing…had not seen this footage before
Robert Plant prancing around with Jimmy Page rocking all along and Bonham batting off like a wild animal, can't forget JPJ with his monster bass. Top of the rocknroll world.
This is just incredible. Tobacco Road on video. Never thought there was even a chance it was taped. How does it take 50 years for this to come out??? Makes me think Jimmy had to be involved. Thanks for all the work that went in to making this video. You did an amazing job.
Yeah, what is the story behind this and why do we not know?!!!
The Heartbreaker guitar break/ solo is almost identical to the one on How the west was won.
Didn't know it was that consistent
I'm Brazilian: the volume of Bonham's drums is impressive, which you can already see before the show starts.
Saw them at Honolulu Civic just before this was filmed. Great times, great band.
This is amazing I didn't know there was any footage of this. This version of the solo in immigrant song has always been one of my favorites and its awesome to see theres footage of the entire solo. Hopefully theres video of the whole show, would love to see the full version of SIBLY, another one of my favorite versions.
Wonderful
Wow this is fantastic thank you!
As far as I'm aware, this is one of the very few concerts where they played Good Times Bad Times in its entirety
Green Sparkle Drum Kit!!!
Yes! Talking about a rare piece of film.
They loved touring Japan. Don't know why they never returned, after 1972.
Some of their best shows were in Japan!
The infamous set of green drums!!!!!!
My God John Bonham is 10 levels above any other drummer. I knew this all along but this video proves it!
Bullshit
At their prime. Excellent
Wow fantastic. I subscribed. You are definitely great thanks.
Great. I've had the boot for ages, but didn't know some of it was filmed.
Holy frack! Amazing
O PODEROSO ZEPPELIN!
Bendito seas
Wow..so great..i live for treats like THIS
HOLY SHIT!
A 134.525 millions of thanks
insane footage thank you
Can’t believe I’m seeing this for the first time. Someone in Japan knew what they were going to see that night and was moved to document it.
Pearl Harbor...Forgiven.
If this gets a thumbs down UA-cam should be shut down.
Well bye UA-cam
This is awesome, thank you!!!!!!
this is better then the no quarter half videos
I love this band🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶😭😭😭😭😭😭😭🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
One of rocks greatest! Roberts voice is much better than the movie
Cool stuff!!!
I've never seen this before
Wish Jimmy never did drugs... This was his best live playing next to Osaka. Probably because couldn't get drugs in Japan lol
His best playing was 73 and we was on speed LOL
Page at 2:06 - 2:10
Jesus this is epic
Wow!
At 0:39, I can feel the power of Bonham's drums through my Android phone.
MY BRAIN HURTS!
GODS!!!🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
Wow!Japan 71!Yeah!!!
18:54 yo actual footage of the band playing good times bad times? That’s pretty rad
I can’t believe Stairway To Heaven isn’t in here !!!!
Stairway gets it automatically taken down.
@@UNUSUALUSERNAME220 Goddamn copywright. The band disbanded 44 years ago, why can't the music be ours!
@@federalisticnewyorkians4470 Because we never wrote the masterpiece .
@@Dad-Gad so does it belong to Plant? In so many cases take the Beatles. Did the head of Apple corps write Hey Jude! No!
Wow
Most triumphant
Great stuff..and thanks for this..not The Golden Goose, I'm afraid..and that's not a bad thing..more in the vaults coming imo
great footage- Robert had a great voice early years but faded fast just a few years later in mid 70s unlike Paul Rodgers etc
Of the still unreleased footage, is there any more of the acoustic set? “Tangerine” especially?
Jesus I was 2 months old and this was happening???
I was gonna do the same thing with all the sources but this is done so smoothly, well done! Could you possible do the same with the texas pop film?
Not sure if there's enough from Texas Pop to warrant such a comprehensive edit; maybe if more footage surfaces...
FUKIN WOW!!!!!
1971: Immigrant song still part of the set list, Pagey and Bonzo flying, Plant still had his complete vocal range...whats not to like?
Pacific Rim didn't get many shows, but they surely got some of the best
