Thanks so much for making this video, I've been struggling with this library trying to get the best out of it - this was really cool to see!

You should ask Spitfire to do a promo feature type deal. Something like if we watch a new video that you showcase of a particular product, we then use a "Simeon" code for a discount. They could truly track your influence on purchase power.
No joke man, your videos on Spitfire became my favorite practically immediately.
No one does it like you do when it comes to honest, reactionary demonstration.
    Keep up the good work

K R, thanks so much for that feedback. It would be great if you submitted it directly to Spitfire also, as it would mean a lot coming from a viewer.
Thanks again for all of the encouraging support, it means so much to hear that what you are doing is making a difference and helping others. Joyfully yours! 🎹

While you’re at it touch base with Native Instruments for me as well, it has been hard to connect with them. 🤓

Wow an oldie but goodie, I remember this getting some hate when it came out .. but I always thought it had character myself 🙂

Excellent playing my friend. I need to use this library more as I paid enough for it. Sad thing is there isn't much motivation as there aren't many income streams available now as the libraries get oversaturated and pay peanuts.

As always, a fantastic demo by Simeon. 👏 And I just adore Herrmann's talent and unique orchestration. I mean, his first film was Citizen Kane, his last was Taxi Driver. From Twilight Zone to Hitchcock, his stamp is indelible. IMHO, his style was a perfect marriage of 'Stravinsky meets Hollywood'. His ability to target the center of a film and create a theme around it, rather than the conventional Wagnerian approach of 'leitmotif' was ahead of his time. Herrmann aside... I WISH Spitfire would make this available in their own player. Sorry, but I just don't care for Kontakt. I'm spoiled. 🤷‍♂ None the less, I hope they one day transfer it. 🙏

Hi Simeon. Great extensive review! I read somewhere that you actually can separate all the combined instruments, simply by turning on/off certain mics. For instance, there’s supposed to be a separate mic for the celeste and one for the harp, so you can play them individually. I think the same may be true for the trumpet and xylophone, etc.

Thanks so much Jeron for the kind feedback. I will definitely have to try the mic position hack and see what happens. Joyfully!

Keep in mind, this Bernard Herrmann library also touches on elements of what you can hear in the music of composers such as Jerry Goldsmith and Danny Elfman, as they both too were heavily influenced by Bernard Herrmann.

I found something that was messing with my kontakt libraries last night that I had never heard of before. In Windows 10 and 11 there is a thing running in the background that scans what you are using on your hard drives. It is called "Connected User Experiences and Telemetry". It was causing my Disk usage to hit 100% and samples were cutting out on me. I only noticed this in the current project I am working on that is the largest project I have made yet, full orchestral mock up of a video game final battle song. This "Connected User Experiences and Telemetry" running in the background was for sure the issue. Once I stopped it and disabled it my disk usage now only averages from 12% to 45% Disk usage with the same project and samples are not cutting out anymore.. Have you heard of this? I did some research on why Disk usage will max out in windows, and that was the issue for sure. Sneaky Microsoft. I thought you might want to know about this issue. Or maybe you already knew about it. I have never heard of this.

Wow, that’s a great tip. I have recently been follow Chris Titus Tech who does a lot of Windows optimization tips and has created a Windows Toolbox that I have been trying out. This allows you to turn off so much of the tracking, telemetry, unnecessary processes, etc. Another BIG tip is to make sure that you create an EXCLUSION in Windows Defender for the Kontakt executable. This will help speed up the library loading process. Thanks so much for sharing! Joyfully!🎹

I wouldn't worry. If you really want to make Herrmann-like/real orchestra-like music, you're gonna need things like Infinite series or SampleModeling anyway. It's nice this library is called 'Bernard Herrmann Composer Toolkit', but what you really need to make that kind of music is different libraries.
