I just want to tell you how much I appreciate that you don't edit out your mistakes or your process. I think alot of us often find ourselves in the trap of looking at well edited seamless videos of people composing with minimal error and compare it to our own process of bungling every phrase 10 times over till it's right and feel inferior but seeing someone consistently screw things up until a piece sounds excellent gives us hope.

I got Abbey Road One last weekend and it is absolutely amazing. The sound & Mic positions are amazing. I would tell new users of Spitfire products to probably start with this if they are not going with Albion One first. This Fits in nicely with my other Spitfire products. I have to take my hat off to Spitfire for this one.....Cheers. I do hope there will be updates or some additions to the library. Also thanks for the review of this product. I was on the fence but after watching your walk through I started to get the Spitfire shakes and brought it right after watching. Worth every penny especially getting it on sale.

Guy, you are awesome. What I really like in your teachings, is how you always emphasize feeling. A lot of musicians today concentrate on robot like accuracy. Many producers today take all life out of a performance, by correcting everything to the point of destroying all of the human performance.
You are such an inspiration. Thank you. I have learned a lot from you.

Having worked in the studio for years I can appreciate the ambiance of these samples. Since I’m just beginning to study music again after a few decades away from it, my only confusion is which symphonic sample libraries to get, since you’ve previously stated that Albion One is a great general purpose library. Yet, from this video it would seem that Abbey Road One and BBC SO are an equally good combination. Also... how about reviewing Omnisphere for use in composition, or at least commenting on it in a video. Thanks again, Guy... a stellar and spot on video.

I would imagine, Guy, that there are several types of folks that watch your videos. The ones that spend hours watching cat videos will most likely click the 35 minute mark to start watching anyway. They are like window shoppers, they look in the shop window, lick their lips peering at the assortment of cakes and confections, and then hurry away to go look at the puppy in the pet store window. They are mostly interested in the end product. There are many other types, I assume, but then there are those of us who are the creative types. We watch the entire video (especially) with all the "faffing about" because it's the creative process that interests us the most. For me, the most helpful parts of your videos is watching (and listening to) you working your way through a stumbling block. If all your videos were cut and dry, add part B to part A, here's part C and part D goes precisely here, and BOOM there's your piece in under three minutes, ... well I never would have subscribed to your channel. So ... *Faff on, Guy. It's why we enjoy spending time with you.*

That giant horn swell heres what I'd do. Bounce it to a track, then *reverse it*, throw a really heavy reverb on it, bounce it again, and then re-reverse it. That'll give you a super dramatic and trippy swell, but also saw off a bit of the nastynesss at the peak.

I bought Abbey Road One. I like it but was disappointed to find that it doesn't have legato. That's kind of a big deal, and I'm mad at myself for not watching Guy's video to the very end, where he mentioned that. That'll teach me !

  • @ArturoAlbero

    Short answer: Yes it is

Really? I’m hearing it’s just Albion 1 libraries without legato.

    • @ArturoAlbero
      @ArturoAlbero 3 роки тому +3

@@ddespair If you look just at the articulations, it is true. Well, it has orchestral percussion too (Albion One doesn't have it).
However, if you listen to how this library sounds, you can notice it sounds great (even without legato, which in Albion is not precisely the top one feature) and all the patches are really well balanced. I mean, it sounds amazing and it is worth it... However, if you already have an all in one, maybe it's a bit redundant, unless you want the Abbey Road sound and you have money to spend in this one.
If I didn't have Albion One, I would choose Abbey Road One over Albion One because I think it sounds better. You lack the synth and the legato, but you have a more orchestral palette and a gorgeus sound (Albion is also gorgeus, but in a different way).
But I don't have Abbey Road One, so I'm only guessing how it is for what I'm listening to in the demos.

The review I was waiting for when I saw that Spitfire had dropped this >_> I'm so torn on this one. If it had the ensembles and the individual elements I'd be sold. Sketch out an idea and then go in and really set it all out with the same library/etc. But even the stuff coming for 2021 are just more ensembles. Brushes, pens, and pencils to add to your sketchpad, I suppose.

It will be interesting to know how Abbey Road One blends with BBCSO Core library.

Is it worth getting this and bbc core when bbc core only has 3 layers and it’s most likely we will get a new 5 layer abbey road individual instrument option?

Thanks ever so much for the review Guy! Another great piece of music in just 40 minutes, my goodness. But here's a little hint: The stereo image of your UA-cam videos is flipped 180°, we have the 1st Violins to the right, Basses to the left etc... not exactly bad, but it needs getting used to. 😁 Cheers Guy! 👏

Love it, goofing around making music, nice to get a sense of it, much better way to preview a library than boring pre-recorded stuff. Magic of the moment is much batter

I may write a piece at 1 beat a minute now. I've got loads of time on my hands. Nice track. Good sound.

It’s such a pleasure watching you work on this. I am currently building my own little home studio. I really REALLY need to start taking keyboard lessons. I feel dumb because this probably should have been the first thing I should have done many years ago. :P

Wonderful review Guy. Yes I have to agree that this will tie in nicely with the BBC SO. Best of both worlds really :-) The Abbey Road One sound is just stunning !!

This really drives the point home. If you have great sample libraries or sounds in general, it’s far easier to get inspired quickly. Rather than spending time trying to find the perfect sounds.
