- What a fantastic point! Leeds United 0-0 Sunderland at Elland Road in a game that had massive penalty drama as Leeds should have 2 penalties. Sunderland nullified Daniel Farkes side for the majority of the night and rode our luck at times but we end up with a battling point that was massively unexpected.

The lads put in a really good shift, limited Leeds to very little even though I think Leeds were very poor tonight but we still deserve credit for being very well organised, I was more pleased with the first half cos I thought we were solid but we were also a threat on the break and at times played some ok stuff but my only negatives for tonight were I was disappointed that we didn't really go for it in the 2nd half cos I actually thought Leeds were there for the taking but we practically just sat back for the majority of the 2nd half and it still drives me crazy when Dodd's doesn't utilitise his subs properly, overall I'm happy with the point cos I would've took before kick off but I'm disappointed that we didn't really get at them as much in the 2nd half
Totally unexpected great team performance. They really played with confidence and spirit. A joy to see. I guess there is always hope!
As Sunderland fans hope is all we have sometimes. Like I’m hoping we have a new sporting director going into next season.
Dodds set it up well and we frustrated Leeds and lady luck was on our side for a nail biting second half. Well done lads.

Hi Wayne - Great result (with a bit of luck) . I was surprised as well to see Pembele and Styles in the line up, but they both had excellent games. Rigg is unreal - he's 6/8 years under our/Leeds average team age - think he's stay with as he'll play regularly. I'm amazed Dan Neil gets flak sometimes - he plays 90 minutes every game and his performances are usually excellent. We played well to stifle Leeds attack rather than they played poorly and had more shots on target. Great team performance. We've got some excellent players, so we're not as crap as it might seem sometimes KTF! Cheers. Jim
Well said Jim agree with all you said. We are not crap at all, we are a young side that need need help with some quality experienced players. If we get them and keep Clarke we could have a good season next season but it’s a big IF.
Like many,today feeling more than delighted that we got away day point vs Leeds!!Had abit of iuck but the commitment from the lads was fantastic,so too the support they received from yet another full away end!We know our shortcomings but all we want to see is the lads giving their all for last few games coming up!!
Exactly Stephen. 100% effort is all we ask. Put a shift in and we are happy, need 4 more of them until the end of the season.
It’s typical Sunderland when they play the big clubs they play well and when they play the shit teams they lose it’s so frustrating. We know they can play good but they don’t do it all the time. Only when they feel like it are they just doing this because it’s the last five games for teams to look at them and for them to leave the club, but it’s so frustrating, they played so well today but why didn’t they do that all season? It’s typical though when they play the big club get the fingers out of the back sides when they play the crap teams get beat if they play like that on Saturday they’ll beat West Brom.
Agreed that when we are expected to get beat go and shock people. We need to be more consistent and put more of them performances in.

It was a good earnt point but, Jobe really isn't ready for 1st team, he really isn't offering much yet. Roberts didn't do alot, several players including Clarke losing the ball. I don't know, but I really feel Pritchard offered us so much more, why couldn't we have offered him at least another year? Grigg for a 16 year old, exciting for things to come. Good job Leeds weren't on form. My opion only, board need to have a good look at themselves. We would get slaughtered in the premiership if we'd have even got there, much better last season.

Definitely right Wayne that's a brilliant away point my only criticism is playing jobe upfront AGAIN he wont jump to win the high balls and is definitely not quite enough to pick uo the balls that are pass up to him I dodds should atleast give hermir a run out when he change subs the 1st thing he did was win the balls upfront straight away 👍👍

I am over the moon that they got a point against Leeds and it shows that they can play if they want to. I am still annoyed with the Blackburn game when the players couldn't be arsed and it shows that we could be much higher in the table if they put in a shift every game.

Frustration overspill with poor performances ( we are all guilty!) But it shows there is quality within this squad. Dan Neil has been getting a roasting of late but thankfully, one of our own showed his true qualities v Leeds. We are now officially out of the plaly- off running so we may see more youngsters getting game time. So......! Let's take deeper breaths for the rest of the season? Love your passion but its a hard watch when you kick off, i get your frustration but its not good for your health mate 😊..come rain or shine, we are Sunderland! ❤️🤍❤️🤍

Tough hard fought for point for the lads Wayne and I agree with the majority of your comments but I thinks you're being a bit generous with your marks, I had the lads down for solid 7's all round simply because it was a total team effort with the lads all relying on each other to do their job well and they did. We got away with 2 clear penalties yet still restricted Leeds to one clear cut chance in the first half and frustrated them for long periods by holding our shape and tackling strong when required. I listened to Doddsy post match and have to agree with what he had to say, so back onto the training ground and work on the the lads in preparation for West Brom and get them ready. 🔴⚪👍
Hi John. Yeah I probably got carried away and a whilst a draw at Leeds it’s a good result it doesn’t make up the shit that’s gone beforehand. We need a clean sweep with a new broom.
@@onlyfoolsandsafc Yes we have seen some shite this season Wayne and I wouldn't excuse it either and I don't think we'll be seeing any changes at boardroom or upper management any time soon so we're just going to have to get used to it and hope the situation will get better wiith the appointment of a good manager and Speakman recruiting the right players to get us challenging for promotion.

Really good result and bonus of a clean sheet. Very surprised about Styles being in the team and would have preferred Mundle to being given a chance rather than Roberts . I have never been a fan of his, he's done nothing this season at all . Well done the lads 😂

Decent point but we’ve gone from the most dynamic, attacking side in the division to sticking 10 men behind the ball & Luke Onion still remains an absolute liability at the back.. his celebration at the end was equally as embarrassing.. dear lord how far we’ve fallen from last season… big summer of investment is paramount or this side will be relegation fodder..🧐👍🏻
Well said mate. It comes to something when we celebrate a point like a play off final win. We need a clean sweep but that will only happen if Speakman goes but he won’t be.
The penalty decisions were terrible. We’ve got to suck it up and move on.
If the officials don’t see it nothing can be done. This was said while a replay showed it from the liners position. If he didn’t see that hand over Bamford’s head he needs an appointment at an optician.
Also why can’t the fourth official monitor the games live TV feed and report fouls etc. direct to the referee?
As a Sunderland fan we definitely got lucky twice mate. 2 blatant hand balls but the officiating is so bad in this country it’s to be expected. Two many rule changes have ruined the game. All the best for the last few games.
I’m sure VAR is being introduced to the championship next season.
