I now have two favourite Barbershop quartets- Main Street and The Newfangled Four
You should see both of them performing Coney Island Washboard Roundeley.
I feel the same way but Mainstreet was my first then new fangled four!! oh my
I found Main Street thanks to stumbling across the Newfangled four. Though I remember when I first watched a Main Street act i was like 'That guy called Tony looks really familiar' then read comments on the vid and realised I knew him from watching Voctave videos.

The thing I love most about Mainstreet is that you never know what is coming next.
From the banter to the dance moves to even calling out the music judges- the fact that they are always a wild card is something that makes their performances captivating.
Kevin Davis which video did they call out music judges?
''I found a Million Dollar Baby (Parody)'' I believe!

I know they aren't doing "standard" stuff that could enable them to win, but hell I enjoy them the most, they make it fun and they are good
You know what they should do? they should give a main street price for the most original perfomances
I'm glad they're doing what they want to. Imagine sticking as close to the rules as possible just because you're scared of losing. . .I'd rather entertain the audience and make sure the performance was memorable than win any day.
@@LarissaDawn Audience should always, always, always be prioritized over judges. Better to have a happy audience with poor scores than great scores and a bored-to-tears audience.
@@lifeontheledgerlines8394 Better to be 9 people's favorite thing than 100 people's ninth favorite thing? (Oh, no; that's Newfangled Four. 😉)
@@burke615 Yeah, they're great lol
5:03 Tony takes the opportunity of a distracted audience to demo run the next line. I've always found it fascinating how comedy quartets are able to come back with a well tuned chord after a significant break in the music.
He does it again after the "Twiggy" crack :)
He does it a lot. I catch it everytime it’s so subtle
"you put right foot in and then you, walk like an Egyptian"
BEST PART!
Mr Roboto to Achy Breaky Heart
For those of you that don't know what the songs are...
1:08 The Chatleston
1:20 The Old Soft Shoe
1:28 Hounddog [Elvis Presley]
1:41 The Twist
1:56 Batman
2:04 Grease Lightning
2:19 YMCA [Village People]
2:53 ???
2:59 Keep on Dancing [The Brady Bunch]
3:20 Hokey Pokey
3:27 Walk Like An Egyptian [The Bangles]
3:35 It's Not Unusual
3:49 Mr. Roboto [STYX]
3:56 Achey Breaky Heart [Billy Ray Cyrus]
4:10 Macarena [Los Del Rio]
4:28 Jump On It
5:04 (Tony taking advantage of a distracted audience to do Thriller opening prep)
5:09 [[break]]
5:24 Thriller [Michael Jackson]
5:33 What Is Love
5:40 Cotton Eyed Joe
6:00 [[break #2]]
6:57 Chicken Dance
7:58 (the final chord)
2:53 Is (You should be dancing by the Bee Gees).
6:55 answers the question, what is the sound of thousands of people clapping at the same time?
So this explains how he lost all that weight.
Why don't you eat a sundae, TWIGGY?
I DON'T CARE!!!
Tony's face when something hits the mic at 6:34 is priceless!
"Why don't you have a sundae twiggy!"
How can you not love these goofballs? Loved it!
Wow! I can't believe how much weight Tony dropped! Good on him! My inspiration to lose the 30lbs I desperately need to lose!
…90% he must've dropped alone from repeatedly having had to rehearse this amazingly hilarious and versatile (barber-)show!
…Tony's motto (I'm assuming): "Spare the macaroni … do the Macarena!"
…on Main Street we again will meet…
…for some (barber-)shopping treat!
Mac2Bee h.
Barbershop YMCA is all I've needed in my life.
Okay, I was wrong. I NEED to have What is Love and Cotton Eye Joe as Barbershop Quartets in my life.
And the Chicken Dance.
LOVE LOVE LOVE IT..... My dad was in a Barbershop Quartet many a years ago- he has passed but how it reminded me of him and his group.... THANK YOU THANK YOU.....Just wonderful.....
1:56 I freaking lost it at batman
I think this is their best performance!
This is tied with new fangled
3:56 I think we just got served. xD
epicunderscoreidiot So you got served, but then you served them. Is it on?
Main street is one of my 2 favorite quartets. Their sync, their comedy, their banter. But holy hell, when he sang twist it was rediculous spot on
Love how seamlessly they moved from song to song!
Why don't you have a sundae Twiggy!
1:47 I stand to clap loudly
Absolutely LOVE(D) this routine. Humour, dancing and awesome barbershop singing at its best. I watch and enjoy their performances over and over. WTG Mainstreet! :)
These guys are fantastic.xx❤❤❤
These guys are just a thrill to watch. There blended voices cant be beat. I am in love with this group. Hope to see them someday. They are THE BEST!!!!
1:48 is my absolute favorite moment. He NAILED it.
I have a sneaking suspicion this is the best damn Barbershop quartet alive and singing today
I was so glad they won finally. It was long over due. I hope Newfangled Four is next
Wow..... I e been binge watching
And saw the previous two of your performance years....
Great job all of you even more kudos to the guy that slimmed down congratulations way to go
That about covered everything for 100 years. BTW I love the nod to the Brady Bunch!
Lovely 😊💕💃🎶✨
How I enjoy these four!!!!
That was so much fun! LOVE Mainstreet!!!
They were doing some killer moves there! Such a fun group to watch!
This is pure showmanship.
Outstanding entertainment !!!
Congratulations!!
Fantastisch! Ich liebe diese Gruppe!
Missed opportunity to do I've had the Time of my Life and do the jump from Dirty Dancing
They are a treat to see at Disneyworld.
They seem to have such pure souls man its aweomse
hilariously amazing
I love these guys so much!!
Merci.
Oh my gosh this is soooo good!!!
These guys really know comedy!!!!!
First chuckle of the day. Great job, Guys!
Main Street is awesome! Especially Tony 😍
Great entertainment! Love it!
Omigosh he lost so much weight! Good job Tony, stay this way!
the third guy from the left is putting in the most work, hes the star of the show to me! He's carrying all of em!
shifter12389 cause he's the lead
Barbershop is about the lead and his thee back-up singers XD From the upright bass to the forgotten baritone, they all work for him XD
I find the the bass works the hardest but I would say tony works hard too. They all do but they usually make their bass work hard holding out notes longer than the lead. Check out pop songs from 2015. I dont remember if he did it in 2018 pop songs but check that out.
@@deonbarnes9551 He did. 15 seconds strong.
shifter12389 he’s the LEAD.. that’s what they do...
Epic!!!!
Ikr the good old classic
THE TWIST!!!
bloody brillant as usual!
Showing my class. Thanks guys
At 1:38 Tony embodies Elvis & at 1:42 it is the same as the original singer of "The Twist."
Fantastic!
What is this song? 3:50
This video is great btw, I loved all of it. Personal favorite is the Charleston
"Mr. Roboto" by Styx -- they're doing the robot, of course!
@@danielwritesmusic Thank you
Did Tony lose weight?!
edit: thanks for replying, Tony! :'D
So, just wheeled around back from listening to the originals of some of the songs in this, and boy are the lyrics in "Grease Lightning" a lot dirtier than I thought they were...
Check out the version from Glee for a PG version
Yeah. It's definitely NOT about a car.
main street naver lets me down
Espectacular!!
I Like The song 😊😊😊
Lol dying!!!
The Netherlands 🇳🇱 10 points
Myron can’t dance he’s so lanky & awkward & I love it 😂
when they just started singing, I thought they sang, "god is dead"...lol
These guys should be on AGT.
"Come on ba
*BUUUUUUUUE"*
Ha! Brady Bunch 😊
What Is their name? Please!
I want them on my wedding!
you guys should do americas got talent
Does anyone have a list of songs from that performance?
Just waiting for the macarena and there it is
i fucking laughed so hard !!!!!!
This is not one of Tony’s best as far as technical elements but he was dancing a lot on stage so I get it, plus, it’s a fun song
6:03 a quick pick-me-up to get through the whole song.
What dance tune was the "jump on it" thing? Don't recognize it.
GillyWhitfootHaysend I recognized that one from one of Jimmy Fallon-Justin Timberlake's HISTORY OF HIP HOP performances. It's something like 'Taco, Jump on it.'
GillyWhitfootHaysend Okay, it's by the Sugarhill Gang, 'Apache (Jump on it).'
Bilingual barbershop- still makes me laugh
If they made this today, half the dance would be Fortnite taunts
1:48 XD
Judson Laipply would be proud. Here's him: v=dMH0bHeiRNg
Mike was from Inspector Gadget ? That evil clone
I'm working my way through. But the bass guy needs special accolades. Although they are all great.
As fun as this is to watch, no Rock Lobster dance?
What the song? 3:40
Its not unusual by Tom Jones
+cat lady Thank you!
Of course Tony is somewhat doing "The Carlton."
What's up with 5:04?
You mean the thriller sound its like a test to keep them in tune
Tony does this periodically as they are performing. He is taking advantage of the audience being distracted. At 5:22 he does a note before they started up again a second later.
He does this to make sure everybody knows what is coming next and the key, so they can remain in tune.
At least they're not flossing
Did this medley just completely ignore the Jackson 5 and later Michael Jackson? Lmao
Awwww, no ABBA!
Meh. Once you've heard Lunch Break, no other barbershop quartet is the least bit entertaining by comparison.
the best yet!!!
cool
