Yes, they definitely should have studied, but at least they realized they couldn't take care of her and knew it was right to give her to someone who could. They could have taken the cruel route and decided to just keep her anyway but they didn't, that's more than what other people can say. There are definitely people in the world who keep wild animals despite knowing full well they don't have the means to properly care for them. Piper's former owners are not one of them.

She wouldn’t survive in the woods anyway since she’s a tamed fox. Attachment to humans, being raised in a rescue most likely and lacking those key instincts and experience in the wild would leave it defenceless and bad at the whole surviving thing. So glad they didn’t do that though! You’re super right

Glad that her former owners brought her to SAF South, it sounds like they looked into it before deciding. It's never easy to admit when you don't have what your family member needs, and its time to give them another life. They can watch her videos, which is hopefully a comfort and possibly visit her as well.

She looks active, alert, curious and thankfully not afraid of or angry at the other foxes. She'll likely be a bit confused without her usual humans around but considering she is what, about a year old? She'll fit in and have a good life. Good for her owners to know when to give her up.

Considering Save A Fox's goal is to find homes for all their foxes, that aren't keepers like Fin, because they sadly can't keep every fox they save. You can tell Piper was well taken care of, you can tell she wasn't able to get out and about much to experience new things and other people or foxes on a regular basis. Its obvious the owners despite having a good environment with good care for her recognized she was lacking in some area's and decided to put her first. Tough decision but they did what's best and picked one of the best places for her to grow.
