Baby animals need to be taught right away to fall in line because in the wild the parent may give them a command like run or climb or stay still and quiet. And if they don't listen right away they can get themselves and their brothers and sisters and even the parents eaten. Here is a clip of a mom dog teaching her her pups to all be still and quiet. I’m pleasantly surprised at how gentle Anubis is with the babies. He’s so attached to Mikalya I worried that he might be aggressive towards the little ones. ❤ But seriously, there is nothing cuter than baby jackals! Sweet Apollo is doing so well! ❤❤❤

Ethan liberally said Anubis is their brother in this video. And I know because Mikayla said on another recent post "Why we have a breeding pair of jackals." SaveAFox works with a nationwide program to save African Black Backed Jackals from extinction. They keep Anubis for educational purposes and because Mikayla luvs him so much.

I think so too. Sophie is very motherly so I think she was just interested in seeing babies.
Sophie's got some powerful maternal instincts. And hey, the jackals probably even look a bit like grey fox puppies.
