MHFU Tutorial: How to easily beat Plesioth

- Plesioth is known as one of the most annoying monsters in the Monster Hunter series. However, if you know what you're doing, you can beat him quite easily. Here's a guide on beating Plesioth, covering both Melee and Ranged.
All Range users is Hardcore until Plesioth spamming Swim attack
You can never be too safe using the HBG.
Yeah the green one use that most of the time which i found him harder to fight than the regular one...also the old jungle map sucks... your like fighting the green plesioth blind folded in area 3😂

Nice video, always wondered how Plesioth could be this broken both hitbox and AI-wise
To be fair, almost every monster in Gen 1 and 2 are this broken AI-wise, with monsters like Yian Garuga being an exception. The reason I started working on this channel again is because I wanted to show people that Gen 1 and 2 aren't as hard as people say, and that their lack of certain features can actually add to the game.
@@Weedbongz Tbh people say it's hard just for the memes, i beat monster hunter when a was a kid, you even can beat fatalis using HBG easily because fatalis AI is broken.

Back when I played MHFU, I had to learn when exactly to dodge that hipcheck, and also know the moment the tail was gonna hit me, since the hitbox extends a bit further ahead from the tail, I used to think it was the leg what actually hit me during the spin xD
A good strategy I learned is to dodge on the frame he does the hipcheck and not when he's about to hit you.
@@Weedbongz Yeah, and back then, the frame rate was slightly slower, which was a great advantage for timing when exactly to dodge. It was still a thing until Monster Hunter Tri (Wii), or at least that's what I felt like.
From 3U on ahead, Monster Hunter games started getting better with the frame rate, which was Inconvenient for me since I was so used to the low frame rate xD
Pleaioth has an awsome design and he's been in the series since the first game. I hate him. But, there's something about him that always makes me excited to see him in every game. Maybe it's nostalgia. I doubt he'll be in rise though since he wasn't in world

You can also take trample damage when his doing a walking animation and you roll into it causing you to fall so you get moi and when pleisioth hip check you will be safe.
Fun fact: when raining, use lightning rod👍 it help you to make this fish fried

Ha ha glad I wasn't the only one who found the mhfu version of plesioth easy to fight with a bowgun. Of course if you consider monster hunter 3 ultimate plesioth the fight is annoying with the horrible water fighting mechanic even with bowguns. Now thou because capcom removed the water fighting mechanic the fight with plesioth is easy with a bowgun again.

safer to use ranged weapons. pierce works great to plesioth body shapes and considering it will stupidly facing you most of the time. but if you really want to melee it, pick lance or gunlance.
that makes it easier, but still not too easy xD.

@@gerrald8806 greatsword eats everything, but requires timing. Misses hit lead to an opening for the boss, especially with the broken hitboxes. Well, sooner or later anyone will get used to the boss and 'll try alternatives to kill the boss faster. gs as an example.

I use the Greatsword to almost every Monster in the game. Except for Fatalis, Nargacuga, and Tigrex.

To any hunter that has slain this fish chicken once, it is quite normal to want to kill it over and over and over and over and over and over again for the foreseeable length of your career. What a little pest this thing is.

Can someone explain how lbg/hbg works? I have blastomage and white umbrella. They all have an attack stat and bullets they can use. Am I more focused on the attack stat or the bullets it can use? Is my blastomage useless because it’s lower attack, or do I just pick the bowgun that has the ammo I need?
In general, if the damage isn't too low, you should look up for what kind of ammo the bowgun has. Moreover, keep in mind Reload Time and Recoil: a very long reload can be problematic if you aren't used to it and high recoil translate in longer recover after shooting, which also means more time firing all the ammo; usually you want to spend the minimal time reloading and recovering.
Finally and a good advice, you really need only two or three types of ammo, or even only one, depending on the monster: as example, Monoblos, Diablos and Kirin are destroyed by Pellets, so you only need that ammo an the materials to combine more; elemental and/or status can help or even be critical, but you need to know the monster in order to use the correct ammo.
It took me max thunder,pierce 2, normal2,pellet3,pellet 1 and a couple minutes of spamming the fuck out of normal 1 to kill him (low rank) I don’t know what the fuck I was doing wrong. I was using the white umbrella lbg and my armor is bad(kutku chest and waist, centaur helm, base gloves and shoes) so I need an armor set for my gunner, but did armor really make it go from 10 minutes to max ammo for 4 kinds of bullets?
You should really get a better armor set. You're using a set with no skills whatsoever, and the Kut-Ku D armor (which I'm using in the video), when gemmed properly, has both Attack Up M and Element Attack Up. If there's no quest to fight Blue Kut-Ku in the village, go to the Guild Hall instead.
Also, be sure to aim at the right spots. Plessy's Shot damage weakpoint is the stomach, so shoot it there.
Also, is your weapon upgraded all the way? You only need money to upgrade a bowgun, but you can only upgrade it a max of 5 times.
Seeing your other post too, it seems you're probably just not good with Bowgun yet. It's one of the harder weapons to get used to, but it'll be worth it, and the true mark of a master is being good with every weapon. Keep playing, and you'll eventually get better.
Notice how hes aiming down to the stomach? Thats the hitzone you wanna get. For pierce, you want your bullet to travel from head to tail. That should be your optimal position. It also wont hurt if you bring more combines for ammos. Dont forget your book of combos 1 to 5. Imo you can kill this fish with just 1 set of pierce and thunder, assuming you almost always hit your optimal shots.
Any tips about bow? it took half an hour to just kill him ;-;
Depends on which one you're using. The Kut-Ku bow is great, but it's hard to get all the arrows on his belly. You could use Genprey armor for Pellet Up, which gives a whopping 30% bonus instead of Pierce and Normal Up's 10%, but that's cuz it's harder to get every pellet/arrow on monsters. The Sonic Bow fairs better for hitting his belly, but you need to be farther away and more accurate. You might be tempted to use a Pierce bow, but don't, they're pretty much useless against anything that isn't Lao or Yama.
Just aim at his belly in between his pauses, and use his attacks as an opportunity to charge your bow. Still, Bow's one of the harder weapons to fight Plessy with.
