Thanks Beth, I agree those little straps can hold some beautiful memories. By the way I went looking for crushed walnut shells here in 🇦🇺, difficult to find and so, so expensive. I just use wadding straps in mine😊❤
Did you try to find them at a pet store? The crushed walnut shells are used for lizard litter and will probably be less expensive there than at quilt shops.

I like the idea of making the 5 inch blocks but using them for a quilt block centre.... Beth it is incredible the amount of quilts etc that you get made!!! You are teaching that you have to follow all the steps ...cutting sewing ironing and trimming against before ...and then sewing together...I'm trying to break old habits. Thank you so much. Are fresh walnut shells available in early to mid autumn Beth?
