    Thank you so much for your lovely tutorial! I made one of these pincushions a few months ago from a tutorial on a different channel and it didn't turn out very well. Your video is so much clearer easier to understand, and you have a very nice teaching style. I'm going to try again. 🙂

    We use steel wool in place of the walnut shells to put inside to sharpen the needles.

      Yes, steel wool is another option for sharpening needles.

    thanks so much, I really need to make a new one! Its much easier to not cut the circle out until it is sewn, ie, sew on the drawn lines, then cut out the circle :) I do this when I am making small dolls as well. Much easier

    Oh my gosh! How easy is that?! I was recently looking at pincushions that were already made on Etsy, and now that I saw your demo, I realize I can do this myself! And what a nice way to use up leftover scrap fabric! And yes, great gift for sewers! Thank you so much!

    PS: another nice thing about your pattern: it can be made into any size you want, whether that means small, medium, or large! And I can see these being made into wrist pincushions too if they are small enough.😊

    What can be used in place of walnut shells. I can’t get them here. I do have an abundance of beach sand though. 🤷🏼‍♀️

      I haven’t tried but I’ve heard that black sand can be used. Steel wool is another option.

    Where does obe get walnut shells. . .

    • @mendingandmaking
      @mendingandmaking  Рік тому +1

      I got mine from a local fabric/quilting shop. You could also get them from craft stores or even pet shops. Crushed walnut shells are also used for bedding.

    Ahhhhh, that whistling is so annoying! Hard to watch.

    • @HumanFellaPerson
      @HumanFellaPerson 7 місяців тому +1

      Uffda. Mercifully the whistling stopped after a few minutes. Great tutorial! But, maybe consider dropping the cheesy music entirely. Your great work stands out on its own. I think the music only detracts.

    • @mendingandmaking
      @mendingandmaking  7 місяців тому +2

      Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that you don't like the opening music. I would definitely prefer to to use music like David Bowie ;) but I have to use licensed music for these videos. I'm glad that you still liked the content besides this. Thanks for watching and please check out my other tutorials.
