Never apologize that your scrap bucket is full of scrap..its a quilting blessing..sew on and on..🇨🇦
Wow that really took some work to get this room like this but once it's done it is easy to manage a quilter's dream room wish I had one my crafts and fabric pieces all over my house in different piles or boxes .
I’m 65 and all my life I had some bins of nice fabric , and bins of clothes I love, for “someday.” This is the year for me, and I made three quilt tops this winter. I love my old fabric which was made before GMO cotton was invented. I enjoy watching and learning from you.
Happy sewing!
This is what I need to do. I have no organization of my scraps at all. Guess it's time to get it done. Thanks for the ideas. Have a great day.
Thanks for the tour Beth. I was wondering how to organise my increasing stash and there you are answering all my questions. 😁
Your room is serene just like your teaching style.
Thank you so much 😊
Love the red and white quilt!
You have a nice grip on your scraps.
Love your sewing room!
Thank you for the peaceful tour & scrap organization. Your sewing room is beautiful & like you, I find cutting scraps a calm activity. I always look forward to all your videos!
Thanks for your encouragement 🙏 😊
What a lovely sewing room you have!
Thank you! 😊
I love your scrappy ideas for making quilts. It is very soothing and takes the pressure of being perfect out of quilting. Have you ever considered bagging your scrap and selling scrap bundles / bags. A lot of new quilters are not blessed to have the scrappy treasure that you have. Thank you for all the wonderful videos. I am truly enjoying them. :)
Thank you! Yes...I do have a lot of scraps and one reason is..... I don't say NO to hand-me-downs. 😀
Hmmm... What do I do with my scraps? I watch your videos and learn how to make a beautiful block with em!!! Lol Love your channel. Blessings ☺️
Thank you so much!
Something someday! Oh boy can I relate to that. Love your videos ty.
I'm new to quilting, long time sewer. It never would have occurred to me to go into the sewing room unless I have something specific to make. This sounds like fun and orders the scraps. Thanks for showing how you do it.
Loved the sewing room tour, and the scrap-wrangling advice at the same time! It’s always so restful, listening to you.
Oh thank you!
As always thank you for the sharing of you. Selvlages or seams cut off skirts or dresses, etc. make excellent book marks as they are. :-D
Also make great pouches 😊
Thanks for the tips!
If you stitch short pieces of selvedge together to make strip units, you can cut out shapes from them for appliqué.
You have a lovely sewing room!💟
Beautiful room. Thanks for sharing. Happy sewing 💞
Love your pretty sewing room - great storage boxes :)
Thank you for sharing I love scraps 😊👍🏻💯
Very pleasant sewing room you have! Thank you for sharing. I have a corner of the basement...but it's MY corner of the basement!
I have gone as far as putting scraps on a three-tier trolley, sort of by color. Blues/purples, red/pink/orange, green/yellow. My "yardage" is kept on two bookshelves covered by a pretty sheet I found at the thrift store. I buy sheets, too. I have also been known to buy clothing and cannibalize it for pretty or interesting fabric.
Thank you for the tour of your sewing room and the demo of your scrap organization. Those triangle scraps are great for the corners of string pieced blocks. You've inspired me to tackle my scraps!
Yes...triangles come in handy!
You inspire me to do things with my scraps! Thank you
My sewing room sort of looks like this but I was able glean some new ideas and inspiration from yours. I sometimes spend a lot of time looking for particular fabrics instead of sewing. If i am more organised I should be able to spend more time sewing instead of searching so thank you Beth for the tips.
Dear Beth, I love everything you show us and what you say. Its amazing how much the same we all love scraps - love my scraps and been trying to organise in baskets of colour. God bless you. I honestly get so much joy watching your videos. Monica from Australia
Thank you so much!
I love the red and white MS beth😇
I always keep at least one scrap quilt project near my machine to use as "leaders and enders" when I'm making another quilt project. I currently have three working, from Lori Holt's Sew Your Stash series. It wastes less thread and eventually, I will have these "accidental" quilt tops finished.
Great tips 👌! Thank you 😊
Really enjoyed your tour of your sewing room, it's very nice and cozy. Would be a great place to create. Love your window with a great view. You organize about like I do probably not as tidy as Lori from Bee in my Bonnet. But we can put our hands on what we want and know where everything is. Thanks for sharing 😊🌻😊
No...I'm not as tidy as some. 😐
Enjoyed the visit of your sewing room and examples of your storage solutions. I always enjoy your videos, thanks for sharing.
Glad you like them! 🙂
Thanks Beth❤️

Hi Beth! Your sewing room is cute! 🤩
Thank you for sharing!
My pleasure!
😍 your sewing space!
Thanks for the tour and the tips. it's funny you mention sorting scraps, I have been going through my pathetic little bundle lol which I love so much, and sorting into squares, strips etc and set aside the ones to cut. I also have been picking up cotton sheets😂👍 and unpicking old cloths, linen trousers, tweed and just getting organised, its amazing how this helps me to decide what is going to be quilt, cushions and like. Your wall hangings are beautiful, the sewing room is a dream 💖
I am truly thankful for my sewing room. I worked many years in the dining area or any corner I could find. 😉
When I first started quilting I had one of those big tubs full of scraps. At one point I found some of those children's scissors that actually cut fabric. We had 3 grandaughters then so I would dump a pile on the living room floor & they would have at it - they loved it. Our first granddaughter was playing with them while I was quilting something - had my granny glasses on & this 2.5 yr old said: WHEN I GROW UP I WANT TO QUILT LIKE GRANNY. I got rid of that tub and now I have a bag not much bigger than one of those brown grocery sacks. Every time that bag gets full I go through them, organize & get at them until that sack is empty.
My scraps are all over the place! I especially like that little jeans container you put you cuttings in. Do you have a video on how to make it? I am a messy sewer and need all the help I can get!

@@bethshibleyquilts thank you so much
Loved the tour!! I loved that strawberry square and your kitchen eye spy fabrics are sweet!
Yes....that strawberry fabric has my heart too. It is a vintage fabric. So fun!
Thank you!
Sorry I hi t the wrong button I enjoyed your video 😊
Love your sewing space and organisation. What sort of project do you have planned for your selvedges? I have heard others keep them but haven't seen any results yet.
I haven’t decided yet. I’ll share it here when I do😉
Do tell. How did you make the Jean bag?
Right?
I will have to share sometime. I saw it somewhere on the internet a long time ago!
I’m tending to use all the scraps to create panels on the back of the quilts I’ve been making so my scrap pile doesn’t seem to grow very quickly 😢
great idea!
Amei o PANO de legumesa 😍
I have over 15 storage containers full of scrap material it's over whelming, but some pieces are quite big that's why it was hard to throw them......the containers help to keep them organized
You’re rich in scrappy quilt gold.
Scraps ARE certainly treasure! 😉
I just started going through my abundance of scraps I have done a lot of things like you. I enjoy your videos very much
But what do you do with your quilts when finished? You have enough fabric to make quilts forever. Hope they are appreciated!
I give a lot of quilts away. Often I wait to quilt a top until a quilt is needed/wanted. That way it doesn't take as much space here. 😉
Thank you for your reply. I like watching your videos here In England.
Gives me ideas
I love your space and system! What part of the country are you in?
Ive been rolling my selvages in a ball
