here's two tips if you play as baby sonic then you don't need to slid under objects cause baby sonic is small enough to just go through the slide holes and the same rules apply with the zap trap and storm clouds and if you play as eggman then you literally don't need to jump over those gaps that have nothing below them cause eggman in a floating vehicle so you can just do nothing and eggman just flies over it
