Yea Sonic in LEGO Dimensions is probably one of the biggest fanservice things in the game. I definitely try recommending with the game's open world stuff since it has a bunch of exclusive missions to mess around with.

Traveller's Tales did work with Sonic stuff in the past so it's no wonder people like it so much, they know very well how to make dumb fun Lego games (not in a bad way) :D
This game is insane. The voice cast alone and how many actors from the respective franchises came in to reprise their roles. And for those who didn't, they used archive audio to still include the original actors. (which is also nice with deceased actors like William Hartnell as The First Doctor and Harold Ramis as Egon Spengler) I still can't believe this all really happened.

Fun fact: If you play through the Adventure Time campaign, Finn unlocks a bunch of weapons. Including the Billy gauntlet that can shoot a big laser. Good for almost every enemy/boss in the whole game
From what I remember, the reason this pulls a lot from Adventure 1 (at least music wise) was because they really struggled to get the music licenses for the other games (hence why most of the music in the Sonic level pack was generic sounding chiptune)
What’s weird about the music is that there’s some bit of Sonic 4 music… like the Labyrinth Zone theme being the Labyrinth Zone theme from Sonic 4 and not Sonic 1. Or how they used Oil Desert music for the Special Stage in the Hub World.

The thing with Lego dimensions is its remembered incredibly fondly for the individual level packs like the sonic game, whereas the entire main campaign kinda falls to the side. For example this game has the best Dr who video game of all time inside it with every single doctor at that point playable with their own Tardis. The Simpsons Game was basically hit and run 2. Its easily the best ET Game ever made for obvious reasons. The Back to the future game had 4 versions for each time period and it even made Ghostbusters 2016 a good movie because those levels were really fun. The biggest thing that lets this game down is ironically the team up aspect with the main campaign, because the video games inside the video game were better than the actual game itself.
I for one loved the main campaign and was super annoyed we didn't get one for Year 2. Whats the point in a crossover game if you don't get any crossover!?

Y'know, I've seen a lot of people online saying how they played a lot of lego star wars or batman or whatever with their siblings when they were younger, for me THIS was the lego game I grew up playing, alongside my sister & I LOVED IT! Would love to see you play more of this game, you've only scratch the surface of what it has to offer!
This is so nostalgic, my mum has probs spent hundreds on Lego Dimensions and I still have my collection of all my characters intact. I hope Jacob does more on Lego Dimensions cause it is actually one of the best lego games ever made. Plus some of the models like the lego Beetlejuice are exclusive models that are not being made anymore. It's crazy how a lego game has so many classics in it.
I'ma be real honest, Lego Dimensions was the game to get me into Sonic. This freaking game was my introduction to the Sonic franchise, and boy what a game to do so.
The funniest part of this is that you can actually buy lego sonic sets now. Currently there are minifigures of Sonic, Tails, Amy, Eggman, Knuckles, Rouge, and Shadow. Yes these are real, and you can own them.
I think Sonic might be the first or second IP that Lego made as a one-off set followed by a full theme later. Probably holding the record for longest gap between being a subtheme for one line and being it's own theme of six years or seven if we leave out the Lego Ideas set.
Am I crazy for thinking that the new sets put sonic's appearance in this game into further obscurity? Because they advertised the hell out of the new sets and nobody talks about this game anymore
I absolutely loved this game on PS3. Still remains one of my favorite "Toys to Life" games. If I had to list some of my favorite things from this game they would be: Favorite level: Level 4: A Dalek-table Adventure. Favorite interactions: 1. Sonic, if you have the Doctor on the Toy-Pad. Sonic: "Hey, you're THE Doctor right? I heard you named a screwdriver after me. How cool is that?" (Get it? Because the Doctor wields a "sonic" screwdriver.) 2. Emmet Brickowski and Owen Grady. (Mostly because they're both voiced by Chris Pratt.) 3. The Doctor, if he gets into the Delorean. Doctor: "I could save the universe 3 times over before this baby hits 88 miles per hour. Back to the TARDIS." (This probably one of my favorite LEGO games in general.)
Toys to Life games were my introduction to video games in general, skylanders trap team still being one of my favorite games of all time Lego Dimensions is a very interesting take on the genre and had a lot of potential, but the finicky portal (which makes certain puzzles a nightmare) and toys to life falling off hard was probably why the game isn’t super well known
That genre of games was so good but the biggest problem was that you had to spend so much money just to be able to fully experience the game. Also swap force was the best Skylanders game no comp, I wish i got to experience it more but I only got to play it at my friends house.
For me, LEGO Dimensions got me into a lot of these franchises that were included in the game like Doctor Who, A-Team, hell, even Portal. It made me get introduced to classic movies like Beetlejuice, Gremlins, and the Original Wizard of Oz. It’s personally my favourite out of the Toys to Life Genre of games.

I remember playing this games main story as a kid and I couldn’t get very far into it cuz one of the early levels was Dr Who themed and there was a puzzle room full of weeping angels so not only did I need to try and solve a puzzle but I also had to deal with Lego jumpscare every 30 seconds or so, and that was too big of a hurdle for little me to pass
I had this game when it came out and I gotta say every world was a freaking banger. Simpsons, Portal, every IP like you expect it from TT Games. Honestly every lego game is just so true to it's source it's crazy!

I already ranted about how much I love this game on the original VOD, so I’ll just toss some random thoughts out here. 1. I hope he’ll consider getting the Portal 2 Level Pack. If not, he already has the game, so he can at least play the Portal 2 Story Mode Level. (Pssst! Alpharad! If you’re reading this, it’s Level 7!) 2. I’m such a hyper-mega-nerd when it comes to this game that I wanted to crawl through my phone and yell tips at him like, “FINN IS AN ACROBATIC” or “YOU DON’T HAVE TO BUILD IF YOU DON’T WANT TO”. 3. Alpha couldn’t save Big, but it was impossible in the moment. He needed the fourth keystone, which doesn’t unlock until after completing Story Level 4. R.I.P. Big the Cat, who drowned in a giant coffee cup in the Breakfast Kingdom.

Lego Dimensions is still one of my favourite games. Also, the hub world for the Sonic content in this game shows that it's possible to have classic Sonic locations as one massive island to run across. Which means if we ever get another game like Frontiers, there's a chance they could make the world design similar to that.
I'm glad to see LEGO Dimensions get some love, it's a shame how financially inaccessible it is. I was fortunate to buy some of the packs at retail prices (especially the Sonic Level pack). I think part of the reason the Sonic pack is so expensive now is because it was an exclusive Minifig of Sonic that was never rereleased, not even in the new sets. Also LEGO was perhaps the most suitable company for a Toys to Life game because there is actual value for the toys, even if you exclude the game.

This brought me back, after I beat sonics story I just loved running around the big open world you unlocked afterwards, I don't even think I completed the actual game.
Now that I'm seeing this again, I realize that a LEGO Sonic game would be a GREAT concept. Think about it, you have a large roster of characters with specific strengths and weaknesses, and expansive levels with sections that apply to each one's skill set. That's BASICALLY Sonic!
Lego dimensions used to be one of my favourite games and I even got the Sonic figure but when I moved houses all my Sonic stuff got lost. I lost the Archie Sonic encyclopaedia, I lost the Lego figure, I lost my Sonic wallet and toys

Y'know, I've seen a lot of people online saying how they played a lot of lego star wars or batman or whatever with their siblings when they were younger, for me THIS was the lego game I grew up playing, alongside my sister & I LOVED IT! Would love to see you play more of this game, you've only scratch the surface of what it has to offer!

This is so nostalgic, my mum has probs spent hundreds on Lego Dimensions and I still have my collection of all my characters intact. I hope Jacob does more on Lego Dimensions cause it is actually one of the best lego games ever made. Plus some of the models like the lego Beetlejuice are exclusive models that are not being made anymore. It's crazy how a lego game has so many classics in it.

ABSOLUTE CINE- I mean VIDEO GAME
I'ma be real honest, Lego Dimensions was the game to get me into Sonic. This freaking game was my introduction to the Sonic franchise, and boy what a game to do so.
The funniest part of this is that you can actually buy lego sonic sets now.
Currently there are minifigures of Sonic, Tails, Amy, Eggman, Knuckles, Rouge, and Shadow. Yes these are real, and you can own them.
I think Sonic might be the first or second IP that Lego made as a one-off set followed by a full theme later. Probably holding the record for longest gap between being a subtheme for one line and being it's own theme of six years or seven if we leave out the Lego Ideas set.

I absolutely loved this game on PS3. Still remains one of my favorite "Toys to Life" games.
If I had to list some of my favorite things from this game they would be:
Favorite level: Level 4: A Dalek-table Adventure.
Favorite interactions:
1. Sonic, if you have the Doctor on the Toy-Pad.
Sonic: "Hey, you're THE Doctor right? I heard you named a screwdriver after me. How cool is that?" (Get it? Because the Doctor wields a "sonic" screwdriver.)
2. Emmet Brickowski and Owen Grady. (Mostly because they're both voiced by Chris Pratt.)
3. The Doctor, if he gets into the Delorean.
Doctor: "I could save the universe 3 times over before this baby hits 88 miles per hour. Back to the TARDIS."
(This probably one of my favorite LEGO games in general.)

Toys to Life games were my introduction to video games in general, skylanders trap team still being one of my favorite games of all time
Lego Dimensions is a very interesting take on the genre and had a lot of potential, but the finicky portal (which makes certain puzzles a nightmare) and toys to life falling off hard was probably why the game isn’t super well known
That genre of games was so good but the biggest problem was that you had to spend so much money just to be able to fully experience the game. Also swap force was the best Skylanders game no comp, I wish i got to experience it more but I only got to play it at my friends house.
For me, LEGO Dimensions got me into a lot of these franchises that were included in the game like Doctor Who, A-Team, hell, even Portal.
It made me get introduced to classic movies like Beetlejuice, Gremlins, and the Original Wizard of Oz.
It’s personally my favourite out of the Toys to Life Genre of games.

I remember playing this games main story as a kid and I couldn’t get very far into it cuz one of the early levels was Dr Who themed and there was a puzzle room full of weeping angels so not only did I need to try and solve a puzzle but I also had to deal with Lego jumpscare every 30 seconds or so, and that was too big of a hurdle for little me to pass
I distinctly remember running to my dad crying because of those jumpscares
It took me half a year to continue with the story because of those statues. Legit the most scary things younger me had seen

@@noahshad09 this was after Guardians of the Galaxy, but the game itself already featured DC properties, so as much as everyone would have loved Marvel, it wasn't going to happen.

I already ranted about how much I love this game on the original VOD, so I’ll just toss some random thoughts out here.
1. I hope he’ll consider getting the Portal 2 Level Pack. If not, he already has the game, so he can at least play the Portal 2 Story Mode Level. (Pssst! Alpharad! If you’re reading this, it’s Level 7!)
2. I’m such a hyper-mega-nerd when it comes to this game that I wanted to crawl through my phone and yell tips at him like, “FINN IS AN ACROBATIC” or “YOU DON’T HAVE TO BUILD IF YOU DON’T WANT TO”.
3. Alpha couldn’t save Big, but it was impossible in the moment. He needed the fourth keystone, which doesn’t unlock until after completing Story Level 4. R.I.P. Big the Cat, who drowned in a giant coffee cup in the Breakfast Kingdom.
Lego Dimensions is such a nostalgic game for me, I played it so much as a kid when it released and I wish it was more popular that it was. Honestly I'd go on a rant aswell about all the random stuff you can do in the game cause I played it so much.
I still have my chell figure because the only way to get it was from the portal pack.

Lego Dimensions is still one of my favourite games. Also, the hub world for the Sonic content in this game shows that it's possible to have classic Sonic locations as one massive island to run across. Which means if we ever get another game like Frontiers, there's a chance they could make the world design similar to that.

I'm glad to see LEGO Dimensions get some love, it's a shame how financially inaccessible it is. I was fortunate to buy some of the packs at retail prices (especially the Sonic Level pack). I think part of the reason the Sonic pack is so expensive now is because it was an exclusive Minifig of Sonic that was never rereleased, not even in the new sets.
Also LEGO was perhaps the most suitable company for a Toys to Life game because there is actual value for the toys, even if you exclude the game.
