Agreed on the S23! Game changer
Another great video, guys! Hit all these and ended up putting the Callaway Jaws Raw in the bag...52, 56 full face, and 60 full face. Don't skip hitting these when you're making your decision.
Thanks David, really appreciate you taking the time to feedback.
just got the Cleveland CBX FULLFACE 2 in a 52 degree...wow i LOVE it...will now get the 56 degree....ended up with graphite shaft and midsize grip...winner winner chicken dinner....cheers from Canada
Great to hear GolfAddict, a very wise choice.
First of all to the Director of video put these Gentlemen in the lounge you showed with a cocktail and some appts, come on 19th hole lol lol just throwing it out there, looking out for the best duo on utube! awesome reviews, you guys always include every type of player which means alot so thanks guys!!
Massive thanks Kevin, we did actually try to film a video in the whisky tasting room but it was just too noisy.
Really appreciate your feedback, hope you have a great season.
Purchased the Clevland zipcore mid 56 and Im surprised at the back spin created as well as the versatility , what an amazing club .
Should have put the mizuno S23 in there
It's in the test
@@paulmcgee1867 Thanks for the review (picked up the magazine too). They do have a S23 in 52/10. Disappointed that, as you said you couldn't get one, and so was not considered (the "56 data couldn't be considered" in the mix with the others).
@MeandMyStaffy everyone like different things. Crap to you is great to someone else. Think about all the dudes that passed on your wife. Their leftovers were perfect for you.🤷🏻♂️
What don't you like, or have you ever even hit them?
You mentioned the key cavity back vs tour choice early on, but is the cbx the only cavity back you tested? We’re there any other “blade type” wedges that were more forgiving than others?
There were two Cleveland cavity back wedges involved David. The CBX ZipCore and the CBX Full-Face 2 (which is the larger model we mention). The Mizuno S23 is also a half cavity back, and the Ping Glide 4.0 is like a step between cavity and blade wedges.
They weren't involved in this test but Callaway also have the MackDaddy CB and Cobra have just launched the SnakeBite X, both of which are cavity back wedges.
Hope that helps?
@@todaysgolfer yes that does thanks. Hope you review the S23 soon as it looks good and MIZUNO are usual full of feeling
What are your thoughts on the Edison 2.0 wedges? So far, the reviews that I've seen are from reviewers that are less followed.
We're still waiting to see them, Edison were due to send samples but they are yet to arrive. Sorry.
I've gone from Vokey to really forgiving Clevelands to the new mid cavity forged Mizunos. Just right.
Nice work KL, glad to hear you've found your happy place.
Ya with how irons are lofted now it makes wedge degree choice difficult. I used to go with 52, 56 and 60 but now there’s too large of a gap between PW and gap wedge. But there’s no way I’m giving up a 60 for a 58. The 60 is my money club, and my short game is the best part of my game. I practice it the most, so lean on it to keep scores down.
So I’m thinking 50, 54 and 60.
Thanks for your input, good to hear you've got your own set-up sorted.
Gents I realize that the Volkeys have probably the best fitting matrix for bounce and grind options but like for like they were terrible for numbers. Double the hitting average area, front to back and side to side were middle of the pack spin was middle of the pack. I think that putting them in the top is a misstep and looks to be a popularity contest and that detracts from the information.
Thanks for your feedback Brian, completely understand where you're coming from.
As we mention in all our video's dispersion is much more player dependent than club dependent, so we know we could go back and hit the Vokey again (or any other wedge for that matter) and get very different accuracy results.
Bearing in mind the fitting options, and because they're a great shape, and feel good, we felt the SM9's are a model that don't deserve to be market down on metrics that we know could be different on another day.
Hope that explains?
Ping? Why you did not include it? It is there on the « best of the rest » …not in the data?
It's there Skye, it's just on the 2nd page of data, so we flick past it quite quickly.
You can the numbers at 7.23 and 9.08 or view all of the data on our website here bit.ly/40KPNu2
Hope that helps.
I know there are many wedges on the market...But I think the Kirkland Wedges deserved to be in the line up as well.
I'm confused how the SM9 is in your top 4 with the conclusion, when in the data it is one of the worst for carry distance drop off, middle of the pack for dispersion and very poor for shot area. The PXG and Mizuno do significantly better in literally every metric. Also surprised that you openly said you wouldn't base any buying decision on that data. Surely that means that the data is either floored or just totally irrelevant in a review of what people should buy?
Thanks for your input Andy. Buying on dispersion data isn't a wise idea was our message. Like we've said many times before, the data is only relevant to the particular session it was created within.
Go back a week later and you won't create the same dispersion data, as it is very player dependent, not club dependent. But put up a review on YT without dispersion data and many people make it the key factor in their decision making, which in our opinion is misleading, hence the statement.
You of course are welcome to draw your own conclusions from our data, we just highlight the models we feel are top performers, and those we'd spend our own money on.
Hope that helps.
There’s a reason why vokey’s are the most popular on tour…
Which is?
@@todaysgolfer Ask the numerous major-winning tour pro's who consistently use them. I'm a little under qualified to comment lol
Sim small miss small
No Ping??? Come on really?
The Glide 4.0 and Pro Forged were in there.
Glide 4.0 was featured amongst the Best of the Rest.
Excluding cavity back wedges (as we believe this is where club golfers should start their wedge journey) you think the Glide 4.0 or Pro Forged are amongst the best three wedges this year? Really?
Yah you're just too good for game improvement, lol!!!
I see a couple of comments mentioning that a couple of wedges were missing, you responded that no they were in there. Can I point out that it is useless spending all your time creating good data point presentations, and then flip flopping over and back during the video and failing to present the data to the viewers. Simon can see it on tv screen behind and on his pad, we cannot. You failed to show all the grabs in expanded form thus viewers are left scratching their heads.
Thanks for your input, will try and keep this in mind when we shoot more videos like this.
Hey Srixon…good way for me to hate your products: sneak in your ad as part of the video and annoy premium subscribers. You’re in the reader too Todays Golfer.
Wrong. Ping has the best wedges. Get off the hype train.
Fake news
Your reviews are really poor poor presentation poor pro and you still don't say which is best
