      Thanks so much for taking the time to say so. It has been a huge investment of time, but we get a lot out of it for our channel and website review pages.

    Took your advice and tried standard Ai smoke. Holy smokes you guys are on to something. Thanks. Incredible results from this club. The best hybrid for me easily and without a doubt. Going to get the 4 for sure. Maybe the 5 also. This is going to make it a fun golf year.

    This is great thank you. Suggestion for next time: right align columns with numbers and have consistent decimals within a column. Will make reading easier.

    I have a TSR3 4H and for me the best feeling/sounding and performing hybrid. i’ve had several hybrids over the years most recently before my TSR3 i had a cobra speedzone 4H and that was great too but no feeling on impact. it had a very hard feeling. I loved the rails, although that was the last cobra model which had rails.
    I bought my TSR3 4H to match my driver and Fairway woods and I’m loving it.

    Those Smoke Ai hybrids look like money. Great dispersion and distance. Also 2 degrees weaker than the TM Qi10 which is significant.

    Great video guys, so how does the Cobra Darkspeed compare to the Aerojet which I have in 17 and 21 degrees, the 17 is my favourite club and is a low spin missile launcher used primarily off the tee but also for par 5 approaches while the 21 is really a 2nd shot club replacing a 5 / 7 wood.

      Thanks Scott. We've not tested the pair head-to-head as for this type of category test we tend to select the latest models so golfers have info on the most current models which are available this year.
      Gut feel though is with the pair having the same KBS shaft there won't be too much difference between them.
      Hop that helps.

    I have a question for you guys. I play with lots of hybrids. I have a Ping G 425 # 2 hybrid that I hit further than the others. I am wondering if anyone makes a # 1 hybrid? I'm not seeing that they do. I suppose I could buy another # 2 adjustable hybrid and lower the loft by 1.5 degrees. The # 2 hybrid has become a tremendous weapon in the bag. I can't help but wonder what I could accomplish with a # 1 hybrid. Thanks, Joe

      Hi Joseph, we're not aware of a 1H option. Give your idea of a second 2H a go and knock it down in loft, but do it on a launch monitor so you can see what the gains are.
      You've mentioned before speed is an issue, so gut feel is the gains might be tiny. Would love to hear how you get on.
      Hope that helps.

      @@todaysgolfer Thank you. :) Thing I really enjoy about the 2 H 's is how versatile for me they tend to be. Great for using from the tee or multiple type shots on the fairway. There is a really tough par 3 hole at Minnechaug golf course where I am a member. It has a brook on the right and trees on the left. So your window is kinda tiny and that 2 hybrid is great at finding the window into the green. I think my swing speed is somewhere in the low to mid 80s If I were to guess. It was 85 the last time I checked on monitor. I play with senior flex shafts that work out well. If I could gain maybe 5 or 6 yards with a lower lofted 2 H I would take that. I guess we will find out. :)

    Played today and my playing partner and I tried the 5h in the Qi10. My playing partner has a much slower club speed than I do, he loved the Qi10, I hated it - it performed very well, 175-180 yards is only 5 yards behind my current 4h (23 degrees, an old G410) which is fitted for me, the demo Qi10 obviously was not, I suspect with the right shaft there would be no difference between the two and there was plenty of stopping power (with the caveat that the greens are very soft at the moment) from a nice high ball flight. However, the feel was horrible, difficult to describe, the sound was a dull thud but I got no impression of solidity from it. Of course that could just be me

    I must commend you guys for truly trying to be objective and factual and basing your opinions on actual data. However, there is no logic behind including the Eleven set of clubs in your 2024 best high handicap irons review instead of here in the best hybrids review! The Eleven clubs are hybrid clubs through and through; they are not irons in any way, shape or form!

    • @todaysgolfer
      @todaysgolfer  6 місяців тому

      Thanks Zazhou, interesting angle and we sort of understand where you're coming from.
      We'd just chip in that Eleven refer to the set as 'hybrid irons', and virtually no other mass market 'hybrid' comes in a Pitching Wedge option.
      Where 'hybrid irons' like the Eleven and Cleveland Halo XL do which in our minds at least warrants them being included within our most forgiving iron category.
      Hope that helps explain.

    • @zazhou
      @zazhou 6 місяців тому +1

      @@todaysgolfer unfortunately, can't quite agree. So if Callaway adds a nine hybrid and a pitching hybrid to their existing range of (Rogue ST, Big Bertha, Paradym) hybrids, will those hybrids suddenly and fantastically become irons? Same thing for Ping if they were to add an 8 and 9 and P hybrids to their 7 hybrid. The reason why Eleven came out tops in your high handicap irons category is because it is a hybrid with longer shaft competing against irons. But it is not a big deal where and how you feel you want to categorise these hybrids. Just giving my two cents worth, so keep up the good work!

    Every single reviewer or reviewed Ping G430 hybrid on the entire internet, not just You Tube, has this hybrid top 3 in every metrics that can be measured. Accuracy, forgiving and distance, etc, etc. How is it bottom half here in all catergories? Did a ultra inconsitant 30 hdcp test these out, I would bet yes, it was......you cant really be serious its not top 3 in anything? Certainly some biased garbage happening here...

    • @todaysgolfer
      @todaysgolfer  18 днів тому

      It's sort of ironic then that Ping are probably the biggest supporters of what we do. We can't fudge the data just because they don't reflect the picture everyone else presents.
      To be fair the G430 are in the second year of their cycle, which makes them to tough to thoroughly recommend against newer models. They were though among our top picks in 2023.

    Why compare carry distance of a 19 degree taylormade and a 22 degree PXG - nonsense

    • @todaysgolfer
      @todaysgolfer  6 місяців тому +1

      Because our test spec is 20deg. Where some brands are adjustable, others aren't.
      Should we just leave out all the models that aren't available at exactly the same loft and shaft length? #Nonsense #Useless

    • @paulsj3273
      @paulsj3273 6 місяців тому

      @@todaysgolfer no, but you called out specific data on carry distance, which is misleading when the spec’s are not the same. If I was a manufacturer and look at this test, I’d be sending you a 17 degree hybrid next time so I win the carry distance category. That’s my point.

    • @todaysgolfer
      @todaysgolfer  6 місяців тому +1

      @@paulsj3273 17deg would not make it in Paul, not if we know a brand has an option closer to our test spec.
      That's the point we can't control the specs brands offer their equipment at, we have a test spec and get as close to it as possible.
      From there we try to offer a comparison and useful buying advice, so we can highlight models that might not be fastest or longest but are great options for slower speed players.
      Longest doesn't always mean best for all.
