Not me listening to the punk remix of Dance Of The Little Swans for the rest of my life. REMINDER to hit the like button and subscribe if you haven’t already! You’ll wanna make sure you’re subscribed for next weeks video 😉
So some explanations: Vellumental battle is the boss battle for the earth, water, fire, and ice vellumentals that you fighting that order, with earth being a giant origami turtle, water being a giant origami water dragon, fire being basically a giant origami moltres, and ice being a giant origami polar bear. Origami castle is the last area you visit in the game. King Olly is, in fact, the final boss
In game, before that Swan Lake Remix, it starts with Origami Ballerina Shy Guys dancing to the original Swan Lake. They then invite Mario onto the stage with them for a dance but he accidentally kills one of them. The other Shy Guys become enraged and start attacking Mario with their dance routine, and Mario has to slaughter them all, which is when the remix plays
@@IlexEmilyfun fact! After clearing that area, you can go back and talk to an NPC to watch the ballet scene without fighting. The Shy Guys use the same choreography and there’s enough for the song to play in full
Origami King's OST absolutely deserves a part 2 if only for the rest of the battle themes, they are PHENOMENAL. I also recommend playing Origami King itself, it's a super charming adventure game with hilarious writing and very unique and creative boss fights
It's actually really funny that you opened with "where's the main theme?" because it was actually a tradition in Paper Mario games, to have the grassland theme have a remix of that song. Origami King broke that tradition, but Picnic Road would've probably been the area to have had a remix, if the tradition was kept.
Just for some context, in case no one else explained it (there may be spoilers): "Red Steamer Battle": This is the main battle theme of Paper Mario: The Origami King. It has 8 different variations depending on the area you're in, as well as a normal version and "Thinking" version, which sound more subdued (the snare is replaced by rim clicks). This variant plays in, what are essentially, the Prologue and Chapter 1 (which includes Picnic Road). "Vellumental Battle": Vellumental is a portmanteau of vellum (a type of paper) and elemental, and these typically serve as mid-bosses of areas. Upon defeating them, Olivia, Mario's travel companion in this game, can harness their powers with special Magic Circles, taking the forms of the Vellumentals, magical-girl style, to help Mario in the overworld and in battle. "Origami Castle": The final area in The Origami King. There's no battle theme here, it just keeps playing (it may get more intense, but I don't remember). And this is coming from someone who doesn't own this game.
Disco Devil is of my favorite songs of the game, and the boss is even crazier. The full name is "The Disco Devil, Hole Puncher". And yes, it dances and it special attack is punch holes in Mario to reduce his max HP. Not just damage, it reduces the max HP, but you can get the pieces of Mario back to get the max HP restored.
A lot of the music in this game was actually played by live musicians, many of which are part of the indie music scene in Japan, which I thought was really neat! I'd definitely recommend looking up the full credits for this game's soundtrack online, because there's a lot of cool musicians in there
I was absolutely floored when I got to Swan Lake in the game. I am also a huge classical music fan, but when I heard they were using Swan Lake instead of some classical-styled remix of a Mario song-- I was a bit disappointed. THEN THE PUNK REMIX HIT and I could not stop smiling. I instantly forgave them, and I wish we'd get much much more classical music remixes in future Mario games. That scene will always stick with me. It was so so amazing to hear a ballet in such an interesting way. Origami King has probably my favorite soundtrack out of any game on the Switch (although Kirby & The Forgotten Land is a very close second).
Uhhhh the best OST on Switch… damn… that‘s too hard for me cause Xenoblade 2 and 3 as well as Age of Calamity have so many amazing tracks… can‘t pick… sorry… too hard🤣
Oh DUDE, the Origami King soundtrack is PHENOMENAL! I kept having to stop to listen to the music while I was playing through the game myself, especially the battle themes :'D
The Origami King definitely has one of my all-time favourite video game soundtracks. Literally every battle theme is a banger. My jaw also dropped when I first heard Origami Castle haha. Fun fact, there's no unique battle theme for when you fight enemies in the Origami Castle - unlike just about every other area in the game, this area's theme KEEPS PLAYING WITHOUT INTERRUPTIONS. So damn good My personal favourite tracks are The Dual-Bladed Duelist, The Shifty Sticker, Autumn Mountain Battle, Shogun Studios, and Event Battle. Toad Town (green streamer removal version) also puts a smile on my face because it's an evolved version of the game's title screen theme that just radiates pure joy. To anyone who hasn't listened to the rest of the Origami King OST yet: LISTEN TO IT! Even just the battle themes! It's worth it :)
OMG YOU FINALLY LISTENED TO IT! I'm so happy that you've finally got around to this game. There are SO MANY great songs in the ost and weather in your own time or hell, even a part 2??? Nah I don't expect you do that. But you gotta listen to more!
Origami Castle and King Olly’s battle theme have the game’s main Leitmotif in them, and one of the many places you can hear it is in toad town, of which the music there gets more lively depending on how far you are into the game. That last detail reminded me on how the start menu’s music for Undertale would get more lively depending on your progress towards the pacifist ending, the leitmotif of which is also included in that route’s final boss. Another detail I remembered is that both game’s final areas where standard enemies are still encounterable, the battle music will be absent and it’ll continue playing the music of that area while in battle
I will recommend doing a part 2 for this game. It has SUCH AN AMAZING SOUNDTRACK. My favorites are: Exploring the Great Sea (My favorite one), Autumn Mountain and Autumn Mountain Battle Theme.
If you ever decide to listen to more music from this game, I especially recommend: Autumn Mountain Autumn Mountain Battle Theme Exploring Shogun Studios Toad Town in Trouble Toad Town (Green Streamer) Exploring the Great Sea The Shifty Sticker So many great tracks from this game, it’s one of my personal favourite ost’s.
This OST changed my life and I love it! Definitely my favorite OST of 2020. Every single track is thematic and fitting and the BATTLE THEMES ARE KILLER! YESSS DISCO DEVIL IS LITERALLY MY FAVORITE THEME IN THE GAME
First, incredible ost to listen to and some fun reactions from you Second, you should definitely do a sequel at some point in the future because the whole ost is just too good and there's more i'd think you would like Third, you're welcome for the recommendations. I love this game front and back so im glad i could provide some of its outstanding ost for your video content
saw ur undertale reaction video and I got SO excited when I looked at ur channel and saw an origami king reaction!! its one of my fav games ever along w undertale, they both greatly inspired my ocs and im so glad more ppl are recognizing origami king cause its not as talked abt tbh
The Origami King ost gets a lot of love, including fan covers of tracks and reactions and stuff. But even still, I think the soundtrack is underrated. I guess i'm just kind of greedy lol
Definitely one of my favourite OSTs from the past few years! It’s such an incredible game, I was very surprised by it! Edit: Oh, also Origami Castle is absolutely one of my favourite themes of all time. What a banger!!
I should also mention there is an incredible live-performed suite of some of the Origami King tracks called “Line Em Up” by vgmtogether - highly recommend it!
When ever you have the time, I HIGHLY recommend you listen to all the battle themes! They are ALL so GOOD (And a lot of them don't sound like music you'd expect from a Mario game lol (Especially Event Battle, Boss Battle, and Dual-Bladed Duelist)) Every since Origami King came out it has been one of my favorite video game osts and it still hasn't been beaten (It's tied for first along with Undertale/Deltarune and Pokemon Masters lol) Also the game is very good I highly recommend it as well :3
Something about the Hole Puncher boss is that he punches a hole in Paper Mario’s face making you lose half your HP and that will be your max HP until you retrieve your face back
The red streamer battle gave me Mario kart vibes. Maybe cause they’re both Mario style but it sounded like something you’d hear in one of the city/tour tracks. Love your videos btw.
9:45 My time has come (Starts throwing tons of FNaF animatronics at your screen {if you know, you know}). In all seriousness, I love this soundtrack and all of its awesome tracks. I’m glad you like the soundtrack as well.
Heres somr recomendations for part 2 autumn mountian, elastic entertainer, dual-bladed-duelist, title screen, and my favroite, the shifty sticker(if you will still have extra time then autumn mountian battle of the fanged fanaster)
If you enjoyed Red Streamer Battle, and you enjoyed Autumn Mountain, then you are going to die listening to Blue Stream Battle, which is a mix of the two.
I highly recommend checking out music from the Bayonetta series if you're not familiar with it. A few specific tracks that are great are Red&Black, Let's Dance Boys - Bayo 1 version, Legend of Aesir, Moon River, Gh()st, and Fertile Rondo. I recommend saving Fertile Rondo for last, it's possibly the best song in the series in my opinion.

Red Streamer Battle plays in normal battles you have in the overworld. Typical in the areas where the red streamer is which is something you need to destroy. Nothing scary for the first few zones of the game
I 1000% recommend to listen to the OMORI soundtrack if you want to be ON THE FLOOR. Seriously, it’s such a great game with an UNGODLY soundtrack. It’s really good! I recommend the Title Screen, Spaces In Between, You Were Wrong. Go Back., Worlds End Valentine, Underwater Prom Queens, Tussle Among Trees, Splintered Sweets in the castle, and Final Duet! :)
You squealing like a schoolkid at the swan lake punk remix is the best thing I've ever seen! But bobby was right. Ballet is way better when the dancers try to murder each other with hammers!

This is a mario game btw
you... should probably make a sequel to this video
Ok you actually NEED to do more from this game, it has some of the best boss themes I have ever heard
yes PLEASE!
Oh yeah
This game has high S tier musics like scissor theme, snif city royal hotel
And more
But the best few has to be the vellumental battle theme, king olly battle first phase, disco devil ,scissors theme and snif city royal hotel
- Nintendo: "You don't need to go that hard"
- Composers: ok **proceed to make the best soundtrack of all time**

Swan Lake has been in the public domain since 1963, actually.

Swan lake was amazing 😂 Can confirm Emi then watched the full scene from start to finish and loved every second
Origami King has one of the strongest OSTs ive seen in any Mario game. Pretty high up there. You made a good choice in covering it
Anyone else hoping to see _Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door_ get a video when the remaster drops in a month?
I would love a series looking at the different games in the Mario and Luigi themes

If you're looking for intense music to bop to... I would highly recommend the Pokemon Battle Revolution OST... cuz it hits really hard.
Pmtok’s OST just HITS different!!
i really wish you’d done the Autumn Mountain Battle Theme
Best Soundtrack Im Video Game History!

Battle with king Olly is nothing compared to Final Battle which is the 2nd phase of the final boss
You know what game has absolute gorgeous music, octo path traveler
Me literally shaking whole video because almost every theme was my favourite
You didn’t even get to the Real final boss theme! Its called the final battle (kinda obvious) but that one is even better!
These sounded like Mario Kart 8 tracks.
I would have to guess that whoever worked on those also worked on this.
Emily not say the 3rd song in every ost reaction is her “favorite so far”. will fail 😂
Snif City is a RIDICULOUS tune.
