- When Naruto fans think about the powerful members of the Akatsuki the names of: Kisame, Itachi, Nagato, Kakuzu and others often come up automatically. However, Konan is a character who doesn't get brought up as often as she should. Is she the weakest member of the Akatsuki or is she strong enough to join the ranks of the upper tier of the organization of S rank rogue ninja?

Kabuto and Zetsu were still out there plotting. Obito didn't matter, per say. Madara only needed someone to perform the rinne rebirth on him, which was originally going to be nagato. Zetsu and/or Kisame would probably roll up on konan and take nagato's eyes back anyway. Obito was only doing Zetsu's work really.
Tayo Ruin the story? The story was kind of ruined once the War Arc began. Imo, I could've lived w/o Obito/Tobi being introduced. Ofc a few things in the war arc should be kept (Madara, and Sasuke mostly) But majority of it was terrible writing, especially once Kaguya got introduced along with the Sage of the Six Paths. I could go on and on, but I'm sure you get the point I'm trying to make.
She was probably one of the only Akatsuki members I wanted to survive

Konan suffered the same tragedy as did all other kunoichi in the Naruto series... that being kishimoto’s (possible) inability to make awesome standout female characters. Konan’s power seemed dope, but we just saw little showing of it, while other members of the Akatsuki had multiple opportunities to show off their skills. Tbh that happens with most of the female characters.. their male counterparts get more shine and epic moments. I wish we saw more of her or had more exploration of her skill.
She's powerful and don't need to be flashy.

Basketball Players lol oh 100% totally agree! I didn’t mean tragedy as the actual in-story lore of the individual character. I mentioned tragedy (as my comment says) in the sense that, Kishimoto was just bad at writing stand out female characters, or rather him being bad at giving them opportunity to stand out. Basically, all the kunoichi were simply relegated to side characters at the expense of the male characters with whom they were introduced.
For example, while we did learn Konan’s backstory, the focus of those events were mainly on Jiraiya (living out his prophecy), Nagato (assumed child of prophecy), and to a lesser degree Yahiko (the catalyst to making Pain)... and Konan just seemed to be there not necessarily adding much.
More examples, being how amazing Temari is, but Gaara taking most of the shine. When TenTen is introduced, more focus was shifted to Lee and Neji... the list goes on. Not a knock on them, but the problem being the writing and the trend that all the female characters struggled with in the series... Hence my usage of ‘tragedy.’

Konan was so strong and beautiful yet deserve so much better.
She really could've been a badass character, her design was 10/10, her Jutsu was really interesting. Sad they didn't give her more time in the show. Kishimoto really does make a lot of bad decisions .
She's definitely in the top 5 kunoichi. The most underrated akatsuki
I'd say that the top 5 Kunochi are (not in order) Sakura, Hinata, Tsunade, Mei, and Konan.

Konan was another beast Ninja who was thrown on the pile of: "cause the plot said", along with Hidan, Kakazu and The Fifth Mizukage: Mei Terumi :(
If Kishimoto had paid more attention to Konan, she could have truly been more of a threat to Naruto, the leaf, and Obito, and more badass than Tsunade, not going to lie. She could have been the Batman of the Narutoverse. Thanks a lot, Kishimoto. >.>

She was the best female ninja in the series bc she wasn’t always blinded by lust and drinking and was actually smart unlike and did things like a ninja unlike Hinata,Sakura, tenten, tsunade, mei, temari

Konan had a dark tone to her, definitely underrated
I didn't respect Konan initially, but seeing what she did in her only major fight with Obito truly impressed me. I know she had prep time but it cannot be overstated just how hax Obito's Kamui is- a 5 min interval is not even a flaw to it as it would take prep time to even put Obito in an attack that lasts past 5 mins.
Beyond having Kamui of your own, you need to be super-fast to really fight against Obito. Konan knew that she didn't have the speed on her side so she actually found an iron clad strategy. Make no mistake; Obito died to that attack, but Izinagi turns reality to illusion so he undid it- had she only known, she would of accounted for that too.
I wished she had survived her encounter with Obito to help later down the war but it is probably for the best- that war was poorly executed at the end of the day. I think people also don't look at Konan in a way where she is actually pretty good matchup against mainly physical fighters like Tsunade- in her paper form, she feels no pain and cannot be harmed by physical attacks, even jutsus would need to actually destroy all the paper to really stop her. I understood why the video game put her as the one to recruit Sasori- she is a good matchup against him- you cannot poison paper and she can bind his puppets. All in all she is a tricky ninja to deal with, if you lack the right tools you would be hard pressed to really harm her in any meaningful way.
Not to mention that unlike her fight with Obito, if she fought against anyone else without prepping that much paper, she’d have more paper and chakra to spare for herself. The fact that she’s be hard to hit with physical attacks, and can make a bunch of paper bomb clones and a lot of paper as seen during the Leaf attack is crazy
Konan is also one of my favourite Akatsuki members. She was powerful enough to capture the Five Tails.

She was the most respectable female in the series, at least to me. She was powerful but feminine, intelligent but humble, cold exterior but she cared about Nagato and Yahiko like they were her sons and was strong for them. And even after their deaths she was still protecting their honor. The only female in the Akatsuki which in a way was disappointing but at least they made up for quantity with quality.
She was the strongest female character in the whole anime, probably second to Kaguya

Thanks again for another great video!!! I'll share something here that most people do not know. Konan also had the Rinnegan. After her capture by Hanzo and the death of Yahiko, Nagato placed a chakra rod in Konan's lower lip to track her at all times and even funnel his 6 paths ability to her if needed. This was never fully explored in the Manga and Anime.

I agree, I think it was just a bad match up against obito giving he has kamui. I don't think at the time most ninja could've survive her attack unless you had some special hack or insane speed. It was like a charizard fighting a blastoise. Konan isn't weak she just went up against an opponent that conveniently had a hack to null her bomb (kamui is a hack to 99% of everything anyways) but yeah I would've like to seen her fight at least one opponent that demonstrated her powers

She was smart enough to counter his primary abbility - Kamui ( she was one of three people to realize its' weakness, one of them being herself, second being Kakashi who only realized it because he had Obitos' second eye and third person being Madara The Saint who can do and knows everything )

Why was Konan not revived? Al the other Akatzski members were.
Her corpse is deep underwater after Obito killed her so Kabuto couldn't get her DNA.
Same reason why Jiraiya wasn't revived. But Jiraiya could have been maybe revived and even Shisui (if he was allowed to inspect Danzo and the Six Paths Pain weapons) but Obito said that Kabuto shouldn't push his luck.

Obito's izanagi could last more than 10 minutes whereas danzo's izanagi could last for 1 minute only.obito himself stated that.all other comments are trash they need to watch the series again.
She is a haunting beauty with a deep sadness. Her character enriched the Naruto world so much. Deep characters like her, however minor they are, are why we keep returning to the saga that is Naruto 🍥

How did Kabuto get a hold of Nagato's DNA? Considering Nagato's existence was only known to 4 people.

The better question is how he got Deidara's.
I was gonna say Obito must have told him but he already had Nagato's body by the time they teamed up. Just more plot progressive bullshit and their was a lot during the war arc.
Black zetsu gave him madara's corpse. He could also give him dna of other akatsuki. I don't think he found the body of nagato otherwise he would have extracted the rinnegan for himself.
Kabuto found out about Nagato through Orochimaru. Orochimaru met Nagato the same time as Jiriya.
@@blackharbinger7569 He didn't know that Nagato had the Rinnegan and he never met him later on in life, just the Deva Path - Yahiko. There is no way he would know that Deva Path is a corpse just through the meetings and holograms. There is nothing that could tip him off that this was a controlled corpse. And knowing and acutally getting DNA are two different things.
The fight between Konan and Obito was so epic and important. It does suck she died before she could really show off what she could do, but that fight cemented 2 very important things. A) Konan was NOT fodder and B) Obito was not 100% console commands godmode op. Seeing the true weaknesses of Obito's Kamui was shocking and made for a truly epic battle where we got to see 2 of its 3 main weaknesses on display, that being it does have a time limit, and it costs chakra. It's very note worthy that after Obito used Izanagi, he didn't use Kamui and was forced to go manual and parry every one of Konan's attacks, and this means that either Kamui costs enough Chakra to maintain that he just had reached his limit, or that if Obito was forced to go over his time limit of 5 min, Kamui was put on a cool down (not actually sure which it is, if it was ever explained please correct me). It was also so cool to see Obito having to rely on is reaction speed and taijutsu instead of his Kamui and succeeding, demonstrating before the War that even without Kamui, Obito was more than capable of handling himself. Just really important implications that got set in the fight, not even mentioning all the emotional energy put into it.
Konan is one of my personal favorite women in the series, which makes it a shame that she never really got much of a chance to shine on her own, in the Pain arc she spent most of her time in Nagato's shadow and got bodied by Jiraiya, and while her fight with Obito was probably the highlight of her story, that was more of Obito's moment than Konan's
She also lost to base ino. I think it was a filler tho.

I've learned a couple things about the members of the Akatsuki like Hidan and Kakuzu, and I'm more impressed with Konan. Although, I wonder how far Konan would have gotten against Obito if she didn't have that massive trap, or Obito didn't underestimate her at the start and went all-out, or both.

I cosplay Konan and my sister cosplays Hinata. When ever we are approached, I always hear "Yoooo! Hinata! And... And... Uh... That paper bitch" Not gunna lie, gets kinda old.

Honestly, she is WAIFU but i wish she lived she deserved so much better. i wish she lived on some how after the fight with Obito. She is POWERFUL. she was probably one of the most powerful kunoichi in the Naruto universe. My waifu might be gone but she is THE WOMAN.

If konan have the ability to make all thing she or her chakra touches becomes paper or paper bomb. Those kages will either be no match or deathmatch

Konan has paper jutsu, but it’s not any normal paper its able to withstand fire, and water. She has mastery over Wind, Water, Earth, and Yang release she can control paper bombs to that she can turn into clones that could of kill shino and his clan. She was able to tank a fire style jutsu from jariya one of the legendary sanin. She could of killed Obito if he didn’t do izanagi.

I truly admired Konans' character in the series. Her strength and combat ability is one thattruly can't be ignored.
However I would've loved if she took her ability to the next level by utilizing the Kuchiyose no Jutsu (Summoning); Fuinjutsu; and Space-Time ninjutsu, within her paper tags. Similar to the way
Ten-Ten or Ajisai uses their ability.
... But either way Konan is definitely a formidable opponent!! Hands down!! 😎💯✊🙌

All jutsu's have weaknesses. Hers was water. (And Toad oil moreso.)
And yet she almost killed Obito on a lake in the Rain, with her papers hidden in water. If only she could have known about Izanagi.
If She replicated a landmass of paper bombs instead, she probably would have won even without knowledge of Izanagi. By not needing to blow up as many at a time for the same result. Meaning longer lasting and larger boom booms. Meaning Izanagi saves him and then he dies anyhow. She also probably wouldn't need to use as much chakra to activate said bombs if they aren't wet. Even if Obito's willing to sacrifice his MS as well. He's now completely blind, permanently weakened, more exhuasted and quite likely further injured. Not to mention he has to square off against a more powerful less tired Konan. Who as a high tier sensory ninja. Will definitely notice him and track him down since he can't use Kamui to hide undetected.
But Sadly the Battlefield was destined to be the Rain village, because It was Nagato's home and burial place.
And if She knew about Izanagi? See ya war arc.

Paper is wood, she has water, wind, and earth releases. What if she is related to the first hokage? Her wood style is weak but again what if her and Nagato hooked up and had a kid. Rain village should have gotten a spin off with a new wood style user.
Her jutsu is prolly the most unique
She could kill any charicter by puting the reaper death seal on a pice of paper and activate it theoreticaly allowing her to cast it multiple times
Being able to fly is pretty awesome
I have some ideas:
- What if the Akatsuki actually tried to capture Naruto back in Part 1 (regardless of the order of Bijuu sealing requirement) / What if Pain attacked so soon
- What if Konan is still alive
- What if the Hyuga Clan fought the Uchiha Clan
- What if KARA are actually good people who are basically Anti-Ootsutsuki

I’d like to practice the Wood Release Jutsu on Konan
Ngl even with prep time, the five kage would probably know everything she can do as well. So i feel like she would get caught off guard with their teamwork and vast span of jutsu. I mean the mizukage has lava and fire style, and onohki has one of the hardest jutsu to handle the particle style and if she gets hit with a dismantling jutsu its over
