Yeah, I think that's the way I'm going. I prefer the longer truggy chassis on the Kraton over the truggified buggy chassis on the Kagama 4s for my style of driving.
@FlailinMonkey also arrma 3-4s benefit from the drive shafts having no cups. Just a direct connection using spline drives for all the drive shafts in their trucks.
The son and I were just watching this, and on 6s, it reminded us of our 6s Arrma Notorious. Backflips all day long! The Team Corally Kagama looks like a lot of fun!
Hands down Kenny What a show from stock to upgraded esc 😉🔥🔥 absolutely FandaziDooZi😁 🥃 full throttle ripping showed this truck is definitely a problem for some manufacturers now. For sure ✔️ Thanks for sharing Kenny
If I hadn't just picked up an EXB Kraton, I'd be jumping on this. I can't help but treat every RC as a race car, I don't really want wheelies. I like 200k mid, 10k ish front, and heavier rear, like 30-50k. Makes it drive kinda like a 2WD.
This looks great. If i didn't already have the 2.5 Kraton this would fill that slot. I actually prefer metal chassis but that wasn't an option in this category that i know of until now.
I really hope TC starts building large scale trucks and buggies. I'd love an Asuga XXXLR. A 1/5 scale 4x4 8s basher buggy. It's insane to me that nobody offers one.
This was my first Corally car. I've only has two days of bashing with it, but ive been VERY impressed with how durable it is. I've had some brutal crashes with it and at a skate park no less, and the rear of the body sometimes gets stuck under the wing, minor scratches besides that, really not much else. Up there with the MT10 and Kraton 6S EXB for stock durability, IMO. My biggest complaint is the stock power on 4S. I might need to 15 tooth swap like you did. They gave it a wheelie bar, yet I can barely get it to wheelie in stock 4S form 😂
I don't think you'll be disappointed. It really feels good. The tuning is just about perfect for general bashing. It's hard to get a suspension that can both handle big bumps and big jumps and this one does it
What a great video. Great job on this review. How do you think this compares to the Team Associated MT10? My 10 hasn't broken, but I did replace the front control arms with RPM's before I drove it. Fast on 3S and very tough.
I agree the body is much better than the 6s Kagama. I would have liked to see all the same tooled steel parts (outdrives etc) as on the 6s. One of the attractions of the Kagama is its bulletproof drivetrain and when you take that away, it's a bummer. I'm bo expert of course, i learned all my Kagama factoids from Do RC first, just gotta say that up front.
Yeah it would have been nice to see all the same parts but honestly it's those parts that set it apart from the more expensive cars so if they had used them it would then just be that more expensive car.
@@DoRCyeah, from what I've seen, the K4 is still engineered as thoughtfully as the K6 and I probably generally complain too much. I'm not sure, ask my wife.
Em, RC Hobby Explosion sells all the parts. Perhaps you mean to say they need multiple resellers ? Because it's easy enough to find the parts. It just takes awhile delivery-wise.
They do. You can get them from Hobby recreation products, RC hobby explosion, eBay or if you can't find any of those places you can get it directly from TC. They ship it two to four day from Europe.
Corally ship direct now to anywhere for 9 euros! Even to me here in Australia they eye here in no time.. I've got 4 Corally rigs and I can honestly say they're bloody awesome!
That's a tough one. They're both great cars. I'd probably go for the 223S just because it's a more known quantity. I am pretty confident that this car is going to be good but it's only been out a few days so there's always the possibility that something could come up.
The asuga arms and axles should give you a little more width i love corally trucks over traxxas any day cant wait till they release a short course truck and on road speed basher
Depends. If you want something a little smaller go with the 223S. If you want something a little bigger or no for sure you're going to be upgrading something like the ESC or the receiver I say go for this. The only caveat is that this is still a little bit of an unknown quantity as it's brand new. It is based on the Synchro which has a good reputation so I suspect it will be good long-term but that's always a risk.
Great reviews man. I had the skeeter and loved it. Reminds me of it a bit. Do you live in Florida? The sandpit/ neighborhood they are building where you shot the video looks a lot like all the ones they build in central Florida where i live. Just curious!
I'm running 200k in the center, but I'm probably going to go up to 500k. I have temperature issues with my ESC so I can't go super thick with my center diff, i don't think. I may be doing something wrong with my driving (75% throttle a lot of the time) but i had to gear down to a 10t pinion to keep from thermal shutdown every 5 minutes. Possibly my gear mesh is too tight. But i also run a 2 pound+ battery so i think I'm overweight for the ESC to be happy. There, that's my entire life story. Coming soon to Netflix. Either way, a comment (or 2) still keeps the algorithm happy (i think) so as long as I don't start trying to recruit for Jehovah's Witnesses or anything, it can't do any more harm than "TMI"
How would you rate this against the Valkyrie?? For 300$ i don’t think it has it beat.. From what I see, the only advantage are the driveshafts…I really don’t like the plastic shafts.. Doesn’t seem to be as fast as the Redcat..but still looks pretty good. Hard pass for me…maybe the Punisher??
I'd say it's well above the Valkyrie. The Valkyrie is fun but it's not a very precise instrument. It doesn't handle the best tends to get jammed up with debris has fairly vague steering etc. This car handles way better and I think will be a better vehicle long-term. Don't get me wrong The Valkyrie is incredible value for money but that cost saving does show.
Love this thing, do you think the single wheel wheelie bar would bolt onto the 6s kagama? Thats the only thing i would like to add and couldn't really find a good option that goes on the stock wing anywhere
Probably none practical. If you want something smaller or just want to try something different those would be great reasons but for a variety you'd probably be better off buying something else.
I'm not sure I have 20 packs on my Synchro but I do have quite a few. The differentials are a known quantity as they've been around a while. They're pretty durable though the output cuffs aren't quite as long wearing as the S2 ones that you can get on the Kagama.
I put 100,000 in the center diff in my syncro 4, i left the front and rear stock as they felt really good anyway although im no expert on diff tuning really.
@@DoRC its probably meant to have 100k in there but mine definitely wasnt as it was super loose. But considering how good the car is that was a minor inconvenience. If this kagama is even half as good as the syncro then its worth the money in my opinion. Great video by the way.
@iainlee4680 in my opinion it's better. You get a center brace and an overall more usable car. I'm not sure what secret sauce TC uses but it's amazing to have a car that is composed over really rough terrain yet can still land a 15 ft high jump without bouncing upside down.
@@DoRC cos differential is more expensive. i know its silly but I kinda prefer it that way. 2 diffs and something in the middle. something else other than differential.
Feels like it's a little brother. That's not really a huge surprise given that it kind of is but the suspension tuning and everything is on point just like the 6s one. Out of the box it's pretty darn slow but that's easy to fix. Overall it feels like the 6s just smaller
So here's the thing. I accidentally left it in the little holder during the 4S bashing session and it is gone. I spent an hour trying to find it and I can't. I could see it on my phone but just could not figure out where it was. I even used a little app that gave me signal strength and no dice. It must have gotten buried or something.
I had a Sketer, it was a nice truck but I dreaded working on it. Too many screws to remove to do anything and half of them had a nut holding them in. Resale value is awful as well as around here if it isn't Arrma or Traxxas no one wants it.
This one's not too hard to work on. Resale value is always going to be a problem with anything other than Traxxas and Arrma like you said but that's only really a problem if you plan on selling it :-)
I don't have long-term experience with this one yet so I can't guarantee it but I would say this one. The team associated truck is very good and especially for the price but it does have some weak points and overall I like the TC cars better
The MT8 is out of stock on Team Associateds website but in stock from all the main RC retailers, from my experience this is usually a sign of a product about to be discontinued. Obviously this is just a hunch on my part and I have no inside knowledge. I can say from experience of owning a TA Rival monster truck that once they discontinued it, parts support ended as well.
I appreciate all your videos and how you dig in to an RC to show all of us what's going on inside.
I'd still go with Kraton 4s v2.5❤
Definitely a good car!
Thanks for another great video. I couldn’t imagine trying to film while I work on my RC but we absolutely appreciate it.
At this point I'm pretty used to it but it still does just about double the amount of time it takes to do anything. Still happy to share though :-)
The son and I were just watching this, and on 6s, it reminded us of our 6s Arrma Notorious. Backflips all day long! The Team Corally Kagama looks like a lot of fun!
Corally has been making some nice design improvements over the last few years and the prices haven't gone up, love to see it. This thing looks beefy.
Yeah the only company that seems to be going crazy with prices lately has been Traxxas
That pinion change turned it into a beast 💪🏻definitely a contender
Looks like a really tough truck, reminds me of the Kraton, the way it just took everything you threw at it. Awesome video, thanks for sharing
Yeah and I didn't even get a chance to show half of it. It took some pretty gnarly hits.
Team corallys awesome i only have their skeeter so far but i love it 👍

what is your preferred brand of rc cars?
Without some good fans they likely are looking to keep down on heat with the original pinion/spur setup.
Maybe though even with The 15 tooth pinion it was still fine. Obviously a fan is a good idea but doesn't seem necessary with 15
I literally just add grease to each differential. Whatever is in it + grease front, center, and rear diff
Can you do front/ backflips easily with this one or is the wheelbase to long?
Probably not with the stock gearing but with enough wheel speed yes no problem.
