You got some bangers there. Race with the Devil is a drive-in classic! Maniac Cop is great! X-ray also known as Hospital Massacre is a fun one starring Barbi Benton, one of Hugh Hefners ex girlfriends.
Wow! Brian definitely hooked you up!! It's not just the size of the haul. As some other commenters here have already said, a lot of the movies he sent you are absolute bangers! In particular, I really dig The Wicker Man, Frankenstein Created Woman, The House that Screamed, The Whip and the Body, The Toolbox Murders, Targets, The Mummy, Countess Dracula, The Vampire Lovers, Wild at Heart, The Omen, Captain Kronos, Race with the Devil, Prince of Darkness, Satan's Blood, Lady Frankenstein, and The Velvet Vampire. You may not like them all, but there are many in there I think you'll definitely enjoy! Paydirt!
That is a whale of a haul. Yes, you are set for Halloween, which will be my 25th wedding Anniversary. Over the years I have seen most of those films and no duds there. Count Yorga probably outdoes both Peter Cushing and Paul Naschy in best toupee. The Vampire Lovers is very sexy. Ingred Pitt is a real doll. I remember when there were movies for $89 on VHS. DVDs really brought down the cost of home cinema. Then came the paradise of UA-cam. The Devils, which has an amazing opening, was not out on DVD well into this Millennium if it came out at all. Please keep providing this content, it is the best. Hot Fuzz is a laugh riot but locate Eating Raoul if you like Serial Mom.
Halloween is your anniversary? That's awesome. Happy anniversary and congrats on 25 years! $89?! yikes.... So glad you enjoyed the vid. I will look for Eating Raoul!
Whoa, Katie! That is quite a massive haul he sent ya recently, as I see lot of my favorites you've added to the collection there. Plus very rare finds with those old Blue Underground catalog ad flyers, too. I remember liking Blue Underground when they were still new & always putting out more cult classics in, but nowadays it's just the same re-releases except in 4K format. Even The Church is finally getting a 4K debut this month (so excited on that). Above all, that is very kind of him as usual & hope you've been enjoying first-time viewing these films so far. Love watching this recent collection update video, my friend. 👍
I love Mother of Tears and have no idea why it's considered bad. I've only seen it once but I remember liking it more than Inferno. X-Ray is a great slasher that takes place on Valentines Day. The killer is ridiculously over the top and the lead lady has a full on nude scene while they examine her body.
Katie, I wanted to pause the video and comment 100 times during this video. You got a great haul. Some films I love, some I want to see and some I’ve never heard of. I’m looking forward to your reactions in upcoming videos. I’ll post a few thoughts. - The Whip and the Body literally is the film that got me into Euro horror. It’s a beautiful movie and I don’t use the word beautiful often. Here, it’s warranted. - Jess Franco! You weren’t given any of the REALLY out there ones - I’m still recovering from watching Lorna, the Exorcist the other day. But Vampyros Lesbos is great and I love Soledad Miranda. Venus In Furs seemed a little arty at first but it won me over in the end. - Frankenstein Created Woman and Captain Kronos, Vampire Hunter are indeed Hammer. - I fell in love with Rosalba Neri after watching Lady Frankenstein. It really is her signature film. Hope you enjoy your package.
I didn't even know that there was a Venus in furs movie. Until a little over a decade ago. I've always known it as a song by the Velvet Underground in the late 60s. Still haven't seen the movie. But I do own the entire discography of the Velvet Underground.
Just stumbled across your channel. I'm also a physical media collector and metal head, so I will have to watch more of your videos. Satanico Pandemonium is also Salma Hayek's character name in From Dusk Til Dawn. I never knew it was a movie title! That's a great selection of movies that your friend sent you! I haven't seen all of them, but the ones I have watched were a lot of fun!
I just stumbled onto this video. My kind of movies! I collect exploitation and horror oddities myself! Glad to have found your channel. A very fun haul for sure.
So many bangers. I remember seeing race with the devil on TV as a kid. Maniac Cop was a blast and the 2 sequels were pretty fun too. Captain Kronos and Countess Dracula are two of my favorite hammer films
That is a Great haul, a lot of classics in their! You will have fun with the different genres, Hammer movies are Great, and I Drink Your Blood is a cult classic! Look forward to any reviews you may do on this collection!
Lots of great stuff some favorites of mine X-ray , maniac cop (from the Director of maniac), The Church , Toolbox murders , omega man, mother of tears , The Dunwitch Horror, The Omen, I drink your blood , Satans Blood (also put out on blu ray from Vinegar Syndrome) , Delirium (also put out by vinegar syndrome) , lady Frankenstein, Grotesque
Holy sh*t, I said that too even and before the video began... 📀Brian's a monster giver, what an excellent collection of gems. Running through some... Schizoid is great, old slasher fave with a very calm and collected Klaus, Maniac Cop is legendary, Race With the Devil is awesome everybody likes that one, its double feature not so much. Just watched the two Count Yorga movies again, they're good fun with a somewhat Dan Curtis-like vibe, I find. Toolbox Murders is neat, Tobe Hooper sort of remade it later in a much gorier fashion. The Omega Man is an undying classic, The Mummy I just watched again such a lovely film currently my 2nd fave Hammer movie, Countess Dracula I find is an underrated film I think one of Hammer's best from the very early '70s, The Omen is hailed for good reason, Captain Kronos is terrific, To the Devil a Daughter was Hammer's final horror film. 📀
You have many good hours of fine movies to watch now. Congratulations with the stack. Looking forward to hear reviews of some of them. You have got nice friends.
Wait! You've never seen The Wicker Man? Girl, get on that. It's my personal favorite. Can't wait to hear your thoughts. Keep the remake as far away from your DVD player as possible, it's awful.
Lot of good ones in there. Let us know what you thought of the Count Yorga movies. That was one of my favorite vampire movies of the 70s. I think Robert Quarry did an awesome job in those. Race with the Devil there’s another one I can remember liking a lot . Hammer movies are always quality, especially the ones with Peter Cushing . Of course, Mario Bava is one of my favorite film makers. So whip and the body is good. I just finished watching all of the “Blind Dead” movies and I could say my favorite were the first one and last one. I thought the blind dead had a cool look to them. The Toolbox Murders is very trashy. It’s worth a look. I liked the remake better and it was directed by Tobe Hooper. The Mummy was the first Hammer movie I saw and I like that version better than the original. Vampire lovers is good. Definitely a solid vampire movie. The Omen is awesome. Captain Kronos is OK I was a bit like down by it, but it does have Caroline Munro. If you don’t know who that is, you will after that movie. Masters of horror was a series on Showtime. That was where sick girl came from from what I can recall. I liked it. Venus in Furs was one of Franco’s best. Definitely check that one out. Looks like you should be busy for the next couple of months so I hope you enjoy your haul. Let us know what you think of the movies.
That's a veritable goldmine! Funny story about Eugenie - Christopher Lee claims that Franco tricked him about what sort of movie it was and he only found out later when he saw a poster advertising it in Soho. I'm not sure I believe him. He worked with Franco a number of times ("The Bloody Judge" and "Count Dracula" are two highlights). Lee even starred alongside Mark Hamill in Franco's late 80s WWII drama, "Night of the Eagles". Unfortunately, it's... not very good.
X-Ray is an average slasher with a bit of unintentional humor. Barbie Benton does an excellent job as the final girl. She literally is in every scene and carries the movie on her back. Schizoid is a decent giallo influenced slasher. Nothing exciting but worth a watch.
Love X-Ray. Great Valentine's day slasher movie. I love Barbi Benton. She's awesome in X-ray. Maniac cop is good. Not my favorite, but good. Was disappointed with Race with the devil. 70's Satanic cult movies I find often don't really pay off...and Race with the devil. Why not just watch Cobra? Cobra is a far better and enjoyable film then Race with the devil. Love The house that screamed. Great movie. One of the best spanish films ever made. The church. It's good, has some great moments like the train. The music is really good....but not really a story or plot I am into. The tool box murders, that's a really good depressing film. Really good and no, it's not based on a true story at all, especially not the "tool box murder" case, one of my all time favorite true crime cases, that happened in 1979 years after the film came out. I love films like Schoolgirls in chains, Ms.45, Don't go in the house, and Maniac. I aint gonna add Mother's day and Savage streets into that list, but I love those movies too. So The toolbox murders is right up my alley. I haven't seen it in a while though. I am planning on rewatching it. I haven't rewatched it in a long while because even though it's my type of film, it's not the best of those types of films. Targets is a good movie. I enjoyed it, clearly inspired by one of my all time favorite true crime cases; Charles Whitman. The Omega man is awesome. Sad to see you got Mother of tears. Suspiria and Inferno strictly for me. I aint ever watching the third film. I watched The mummy in August this year....it was good. Kind of didn't like certain ideas and characters, but not bad. The mummy was cool. Not a fan of the omen. I found it rather boring...also...it's a religious movie, which I don't tend to like. Part of it is probably because I'm an atheist, but it's just not my cup of tea generally. Same with Prince of darkness. I love May, easily my favorite 2000's movies and that is a very very small list, because I generally do not like the 2000's. Terrible decade, terrible movies, etc. But a few gems here and there. So I checked out a couple of Mckee's other films. The woods was a total disappointment. His cheerleader movie was even WORSE. His worse movie I've seen. The only other film I liked from Mckee was The woman. The woman was pretty good. Not as good as May, but better then his other films. Still, not my type of plot/story so despite liking it, I havent revisited it in a long while. LOL. Can't wait to see you talk about I drink your blood...I'm sure you'll LOVE IT, lol. I've been wanting to see Vampyros Lesbos for years!!! Delirium...I watched that in like 2014 as part of my giallo fever; watching giallo after giallo after giallo after giallo for a year and a half. Even being in the hospital after almost dying didn't stop me. Ya, was not a fan of Delirium. "In spirit of The devils and Alucarda" Never seen The devils, but I love Alucarda. So now I might have to see it. Was not a fan of Velvet vampires. Kind of a cool idea in terms of the vampires and where she sleeps, but overall I didn't like it. Eugenie. I just got that and I am gonna be watching it next year. Now I can't wait for your review on I drink your blood, lol. Let me just say....I watched the film due to the premise, 70's exploitation vibe, and the title as well.

I really like MoT, sure it's not him at his best but his best stuff is 30+ years ago anyway, I think it has all the Argento trademarks of weird characters, lots of gore and the glorious 'Scope format so to me it all looks like classic Argento. Most classic filmmakers by this time, had fallen into the post-production trap of ugly tricks but not our man Dario he stuck to his oldfashioned guns which is why I think at least it's a good looking film and really his last try at catching any of the old magic, it may be a misfire in some ways but nowhere near as bad as some say rather almost like a crazy and cheap Polanski horror project or something.
Maniac Cop is a great movie
