Xanadu is one of my favorite movies I've seen it over 20 times. It's a little different but I love it the animation part in it is really good & so are the songs Gene Kelly is great dancer in this movie. Some people love this movie some people don't. I know it's not the best movie but it sure is interesting. Olivia did a bunch of these songs in concert all the time & fans love the tunes. There are even songs on the soundtrack by The Electric Light Orchestra that are really good and they do some of their songs in concert too. I only have it on DVD but my copy comes with the soundtrack on CD as a bonus.
In order to help save space when I upgrade I make combo packs. For instance the departed is only 4K. I took my departed blu ray and combined it with the 4K to make a 4K / blu ray combo. I don’t like when the 4ks do not include the blu ray copy as well. I did same with American Sniper 4K and Beverly Hills Cop 2 and 3. For some reason only Beverly Hills Cop (#1) was 4K and blu ray combo. I do the same thing with blu ray and dvd versions of same movie. Helps save space and allows me to still keep all formats of the movies I truly love.
I was so happy when I started my blu-ray collection back in 2015, I cleaned all my VHS tapes and DVD's and put the blu-rays on the shelf. But now, 9 years later, I'm watching how Sue say goodbye to her blu-rays and this just makes me sad. :( Crazy how time flies now, I have to start all over again, but this time from blu-ray to 4K I want to watch high quality movies too.
20:43 Actually it was Two of a Kind that destroyed Olivia Newton-John’s career. With Xanadu, it takes about nine or ten viewings to fully grasp it. If nothing else, the music is sensational! That DVD Steelbook of The Departed on the other hand is worth keeping because it has the Scorsese on Scorsese documentary. No Blu-Ray or 4K release of The Departed has that extra.

Sometimes, I just get pennies or items may even get rejected when you scan the barcode & in this case, I take them down to my local cancer charity shop. I haven't yet made the jump to 4k yet & even if I do eventually purchase a 4k TV at some point, I won't be upgrading all my regular blurays... maybe only a handful of my fave films.

Interestingly, not all 4Ks are necessary imo, and I've been opting to keep the Blu-Ray over the 4K because the 4K lacks in special features, over-DNR or the film just is not any better overall in 4K. 4K is not the be-all-end-all IMO. Many are not very good. The others I have dropped are dupes with alternate artwork or even films I realize I'm not going to watch more than a few times. It's a journey for everyone collecting/watching film. Cool video.

I just purged Blu-rays that I've upgraded to the 4K by selling them in a garage sale this past Saturday. Even though some of them are worth upwards of $10 on Ebay it's just not worth the hassle, I don't even care if a reseller bought them, spread the wealth.
the ones im getting rid off are brokedown place with Claire Daines mindcage with Martian Lawernce the minute you wake up dead triple threat zodiac with Robert downy jr jake Gyllenhaal and mark Ruffalo and other 15 movies i did not care for
And the flip side to that coin, is, if you get rid of something and then it goes out of print and it is highly Wanted, then you could have gotten twice as much for it. Just impatient, rather than downright unloading it
Whoever said your collection had to be all 4K or Blu-ray there are a lot of movies out there on DVD I will never ever see the light of Blu-ray or 4K limiting yourself to collecting besides the DVDs are a lot cheaper
I may never fuIIy quit on ALL of my BluRay movies or their cases. I know some people may disIike them because they are in pIastic (at least when they compare them with steelbooks ..that can scratch easily haha) 😅 ..but BLUE is my main favorite color and I still like them (the normal cases of the blurays). And I already said in the past that NOT ALL the movies needs to be in 4K or watched mainly in 4K (some are perfectIy fine just as BluRays too). Or at Ieast that is how I feel (and maybe some other people too). Unless you are like in that term for gamers / gaming side: A ''graphics wh0re'' 😅 (who cares especially about the graphics ..how great are the graphics). I had my moments of being a ''graphics wh0re'' too in the past 😅 ..but it happened rather with some video games I really love (gameplay wise too tho) ..and wanted them to also look great. But I understand Sue when she said that some of her 4K movies also comes with a bluRay disc in the case ,,so I can get rid of the case of a movie who had only or mainly the bluray disc there ..because I have the 4K + bluray discs version in some other case already''. If I had something like in her example.. I wouId do the same. 😁

Xanadu is one of my favorite movies I've seen it over 20 times. Why not? I do it if the 4k art sucks. I have great holographic 3d Slips that are DVDs and I put Blu-rays and 4Ks in them.
