2 in Bradford you should try - Baildon, 18 hole moorland course. Great variety and quality for about £16 and West Bradford is another 18 hole parkland course for around the same price. Got the greenkeepers from a grade 2 course a while back and they are superb especially for the money. Can sometimes get them a couple of quid cheaper on Golfnow

I’ve never played this 9 hole but I’ve played the 18 many times until this Year. This year on a weekend it is £50 to play - complete and utter bonkers price for a bang average course . It’s a £25 at best !
If you want to play a superb course for a bargain price play Tankersley park mid week - especially between 12midday and 4pm. £30 . Stunning course and 20 times better at least than Owston hall ! Even better on Mondays it’s £25 ! Barmy for such a great course !

Hey, Bramshaw Golf Club in Oakworth West Yorkshire is a real hidden gem of a course. Think its £25 for 18 holes

i've not played Owston for a while now. always a bit of a nightmare there for me. no clue why (there's a lot of trouble on the right there though...)
nicely played pal. great little video, hitting the ball really well, getting ready for club championships in a few weeks maybe ;) (might have that putter back if you carry on like this....)
Played at Owston for many years, it's always been great value for money, only drawback is they often leave grass cuttings on the fairways which impedes the runout, the greens can also be variable, sometimes they are almost bald and impossible to get the speed right. You had a great round, I've only gone sub 40 once and that was when I was a lot younger (71 now), if I shoot 45-50 it's good for me now.

@@TripleTgolf Another great value course is Grange Park in Rotherham, was a member there for many years, it’s a tough course and you need to be fit because of numerous climbs, haven’t played it for many years, might manage it with a buggy but not walking at my age.

I play there every Monday and the fairways are exceptional now after the very wet start to the year. And I'm a cricket groundsman and know a nice piece of grass when I see it.

Hi Tony have you played @ Wolds Way Golf just off the A64 going towards Filey you have got to give it a go for only £7 for 18holes and I can guarantee you will not be disappointed in it or you can travel half a mile down the round to Ganton and pay £200 a round.

Worst value golf course I have played is Waterfront in wath upon derne (near barnsley). Played winter 2024 and the course was a mess. It's a 9 holer but we played 18. It cost £40 each for a round! What a rip off. I won't be returning which is a shame I used to play there quite regularly a couple of years ago

@@WilsoTron You obviously played on the weekend, it’s £30 on a weekday for 18 holes, can’t comment on the condition as I only play in the summer months when the course is normally in very good condition, only criticism I have is the bunker sand is rubbish and generally too shallow to get properly under the ball.
I assume you meant winter 2023, not quite reached winter 2024 yet 🤔

I live a mile down the road from Owston Park. Spent many an evening working on my game as a youth at that place - always been amazing value for money and is tricky in places like you say.
I recently managed to get down to +2, so I went and had a knock at owston the other week to see to see how I’d get on (I bet it’s been 5 years since I’ve played it). That long par 3 still gets me every time 😂 can’t remember ever making par 😂 I made a 5 😂

Hi I think you should give Ferrybridge GC a go,nice friendly and I think value for money course.... really well looked after by greens staff and after 12 o'clock it's like millionaire golf!!!!!!..... worth a go....🌟🎊🤩🥳

Hi Tony, have you ever been to Anglesey. Our course is a nine hole, with different tee positions for the second nine, not sure what the greenfees our, my brother in laws plays with us, as we are members and I think he pays £10.00. But if you go on line, Its Baron Hill Golf Club Anglesey. If you ever want to come and pay with us me and my brother and wife, I would like to invite you. You are welcome to stay at are house we have a spare bedroom. Its a fantastic golf course, I think, I would class it as a links course, but a few holes a bit like parkland, but for one Greenkeeper I can only say hats of to him for doing a tremendous Job, sometimes helped out by members now and again. A wonderfull club and very friendly. PS really enjoyed you round, great video :)

Anyone from around east Yorkshire on a budget, Wolds way golf course is perfect for a enjoyable round £7 for 9 or 18 (2 loops). Course is unique yet enjoyable.

Played owston 9 for a few years with my mates and the value is insane,owston 18 hole is now £40/50 unfortunatley which isnt worth it imo. - havent been yet but theres a course in doncaster called - thornhurst manor golf club its £10 on tuesdays and thursdays for 18 holes which may be the best value 18 holes in yorkshire.

Thornhurst is great value - anytime of the week or weekend is never above £21!!! Insane value ! I’ve not played it for a few years . I used to be a member in the early noughties for about 4 or 5 years .
I think Paul Nic' plays at Owston Hall Tony.
I'll tell you somewhere to try that is super quirky...Castlefields in Brighouse/Rastrick. I'll say no more about it whatsoever but I'll be interested to see what you think of it 😉

@@KentnDebi Yeah I do it's in good condition. I think they bumped the price to keep people off it to let it recover maybe. Lots moving from Thornhurst to Owston as it's £450 midweek membership which is a decent deal. 👍 Can't beat the 9 holer too. Need to fire the satdy club back up always played there.
Hillies is ridiculously cheap and well maintained (last played May 2024)
Sandhill twilights. £17 for what is one of the nicest and best maintained courses in South Yorkshire.
Avoid The Grange. Prices up, no change to the quality of the course. Greens haven’t been good for years. Sad to see with its amazing layout.

You should try Crows nest golf club in Brighouse West Yorkshire.
Best 9 hole course on the planet !
You can go round it twice aswel as it has 2 sets of tees

Granted not Yorkshire but close and it’s ran by BPL who own Barnsley metrodome and Hillies golf course at wombwell

hi new sub here, have you been to thornhurst just across the a19 from owston ? i think its tenner for 18 on tuesdays and Thursdays and pretty cheap the rest of the time and a far better course than owston hall
