Remarkable and revealing to come back and watch this with the benefit of hindsight. Tiger literally remade the game, he single handedly created a whole new generation of players who wanted to emulate him. He's the reason why the tour is so deep in talent now and why it's so hard to win tournaments. Every week is almost like a lottery, anybody in the field can win, and it was not like that in 1997 or before. Everything has gotten better, even the announcing. And it is all due to this man.
How is it possible that 99 people gave this a thumbs down? It is one of the greatest golfing achievements of all time, and even if you're not a Tiger fan today, how can you disparage what he accomplished when he was barely out of college in 1997?
Not sure what's going on with the thumbs down. Could be a bunch of people expecting new golf videos and getting disappointed when noticing they're 25 years old. Personally I love these uploads.
Agreed. There are many situations like this in sports and in other venues that some don’t like or even hate the person performing. However, no matter what you think of the man, Tiger Woods, off the golf course, it’s crazy to deny his talent on the course. Talent has nothing to do with his personality or behavior. How can you deny that talent when the greatness of that talent is right there in front of you. A “bad person” off the course is completely different from his golfing ability on the course.
I remember that I was inside a car dealership waiting to do a car deal, hoping they would not call my name before the Masters was over. I was never more grateful for the dealership to be backed up that day, and I got to watch it all that historical Sunday, at the Masters.

crazy how long their sleeves are , drove me crazy in high school , i use to pin them up and anytime i hit a bad shot i blamed the sleeves lol these days i blame Bryson for making me try to swing harder
Dimarko puts up a fight in 2005, but this is just incredible. Every single one folds shooting for the moon while Tiger hits the smart shot and just par, par, par.
still remembering the performance of that day by tiger winning his first master it opened the minds of many to the possibilities! possible of achievement even if it meant you wasn't expected to succeed.

Back when Augusta National was a true inland links style course. Fairways were wider, there was no "rough" as we see it today (tall and thick), shorter length, less trees to block the wind. Exactly how Bob Jones wanted it.
They added trees? I don't know all the changes they made as a result of Tiger. When I say that, I mean length. Tiger was hitting the ball so far. Players changed. Players beefed up.
Yeah Augusta is still a great course but it’s absolutely not the course it used to be, it retains some features of a “second shot golf course” but these days driving accuracy is far more important. It’s like the Masters and the US Open decided to swap identities, as the US Open under mike Davis has totally changed the focus away from driving accuracy
no but that has happenes for me on other long videoes that i have streamed. happens the most often when i have been chopping and backing up much of the time..
Best-Worst shot: Cog Hill #3, hole 9, par 3. Hook my shot into the trees, bounces out off of the cart path and over a bunker to about 3 inches. I've never been closer to a hole in one and I won closest to the pin for the outing I was playing in! Awful golf shot.
Oh yea, nothing even comes close. Dustin Johnson beat his score to par but on a week where the course was playing much easier, since this no one has even come close to winning the Masters by this many strokes.
Only thing I dislike about this broadcast is having to occasionally watch Tom Watson! The fact that he accused Gary Player of cheating is totally ridiculous and unacceptable! He should’ve been banned from golf for a long time and ejected from the Golf Hall of Fame!

One thing I know for sure, if I fall asleep in my chair, I can guarantee I'll be waking up to Tiger playing golf. 😂

All of us that know Golf did not expect him not to succeed
Constantly announcers say a 8 ft putt is a 4 ft putt and a 4 ft putt is a 2 ft putt. Decades of this.
Probably just a matter of perspective from where they're standing. That's why giving distance in yds is more forgiving. It's +/- 3 ft.

Yeah. Most people believed that he had an unorthodox swing that caused his injuries. But it was always very natural.
His wife wasn't happy with Tiger's swinging ;)

A perfect swing by Tiger
Sounds like a laser
Maturity at a young age. It definitely opens huge opportunities for individuals with the talent and guidance like tiger woods had at that young age.
Tiger's mom rubbing his arm around his dad.
I taught him everything he knows. He became a much better putter. Glad he’s doing well.
