I'm sure it was great in the 1950s, too...and into the 60s/early 70s. But then that's true of most of America back then in those decades. Nowadays, CO is still scenic -- that really hasn't changed -- but its politics are "inappropriate" (at least for me, and it impacts the areas of homeless/transients and crime). Having lived in Colorado Springs (twice, since 2013) only that city (of the 4 major CO cities) would be my choice to actually live (and I'm planning to return to the Springs in due time). As for the "special assessments" in Denver, sound like the VERY SAME thing happening to condo/building-owners in Miami FL. I knew about FL's condo nightmare (and home insurance issue) for some time, but this happening in Denver also is news to me! Whatever, it's a terrible situation for condo/building-owners no matter what state/city they're in. -- BR
