Thank you for this video! I was specifically looking for a video to see if I can use wax resist over glaze and you answered my question. This was super helpful.
Thank you for your detailed instruction on using wax resist. I am an amature potter. I have watched Wax Resist part 1 and 2. Can't wait to get into the pottery studio to practice my new knowledge.
Can the wax resist be so thinned down so that is not a solid barrier but instead a fragile layer between the base glaze and the second glaze? Upon firing would it produce a slight crawling effect- I hope..
Can you use wax (add, dip, and then remove, dip in clear) for a breakthrough look of raw without actually having raw zones? Or would that be a different technique?
beautiful 😍 maybe worth mentioning to some newbies (like myself) to not use warm water to sponge of acces over wax 😂 I didn't think of it once but luckily it was just foot :P
Sorry if you already posted this somewhere! But do you have a link handy to the wax resist you use? I tried to find it at my local store but they didn’t carry it. Thanks!!
@@EarthNationCeramics could this be done in reduction firing? The crystals. I recently built a gas fire kiln out of wild clay and am about to start testing all of the different clay samples I have, and really love the crystals I am seeing everyone is doing, but they all use electric kilns, so I'm just wondering if it is possible for me to do in mine and it have a similar look to urs.
@@michellemooney1460 I don't believe you can get crystals in a reduction firing. I've never tried so I'm not an expert, but based on what I do know about crystal glazes - you can't get the crystals to form in reduction. Look at about the 5 min mark in this video for further explanation from someone who knows more than me - ua-cam.com/video/Ijl5HK7VNGQ/v-deo.html&ab_channel=OrchardValleyCeramicArtsGuild

Thank you for this! And especially showing the end product.
I loved this technique - in simple terms of course! Do you ever glaze a colour then wax a pattern and carve back then glaze again?
hi, that came out really nice...but what was the rim color glaze?
Crystal glaze! Thanks for showing the finished cups!!!

You can do that it's just a little more difficult
YOOWWZA THAT END PRODUCT :D
Perfect timing, I was just wondering about this! Thank you Donte 🙏
Can I put clear glaze over a matte glaze ( black & white) that has wax resist between colors to seperate .like a checker board pattern?
Thank you for sharing as always, hope to catch you throwing live soon been a while God Bless
🤝 nice to end the day with some cool art.👍👌
Was there a store you mentioned with a shopping code a while back??
Should you wait a certain amount of time to add the wax over top of the glaze or is it okay to apply immediately after it dries? Thanks
