Hello Janoup. Thanks. As I remember I used a lot of Montana VARNISH Gloss. I think it's acrylic based clear coat. Had to use a lot. Because of the flakes texture.
Thanks. Yes. One can was enough. btw It looks better on a darker paint. I used Montana Graphite. Next time I'll try Montana metallic black as a base color. Also I used 6 layers of lacquer because those holographic flakes are quite big and they are sticking in all directions. I didn't try to level sand them.
@@UrryKurtz thanks dude that's good to know. I actually had a ⅞ S-style warmoth build (24¾" scale/24 frets) finished late last year with their version of holoflake and I love it. I spec'd the hell out of it and it came out better than i could've hoped for. My only gripe was I wish it was a little more "flakier", but that's just nitpicking... i was thinking about trying to copy Gibson's "ebony prisim" finish that they have on their modern flying v. It's the holoflake effect over a dark metallic purple. I ended up with another warmoth partscaster. im going to replace the body and then refinish it. Would I have to use grain filler on Mahogany is primer/paint/holoflake enough?
@@kiezersosay49 dunno;) I'm not an expert. This was alder. I think mahogany has bigger pores. I used a lot of primer. Because i sanded through first layer on the edges. ;) When i level sanded final coat of primer it was very flat. Looked like kitchen furniture ;)
Hello friend, you did a beautiful job. I have a question, what varnish did you use to finish? was it acrylic varnish?

Awesome, thanks! Looks killer!

Thanks.
