I have both the Corsair and the Andromeda and even if i can see the evolution in the way CIG make the newer ships. Even if the Corsair is arguably the better ship, i just love my Connie. Might be the fact that after all these years i still keep on my desk the model of the Constellation Andromeda.
I like the "Discount Galactica" look. The design really pays tribute to the 80s/90s ship notes. The dropdown cargo and access is a go for me. Also it is easier to land on rocky ground without worry of being hung up on things.
It’s just a vehicle, but I’m most excited for the ranger bikes. And I’ve always felt the extra pilot seats are so your crew has somewhere to sit when not in turrets
Most excited for the Galaxy!!!! I love the Connie Andromeda! However the Zeus and 600i I’ll probably use until the Connie gets a rework. The guns being all S5 on the Connie will be awesome pilot fire power soon (master modes)
This is one of the happiest pledges I ever made in Star Citizen (I regret CCU'ing it to this day). The versatility of the ship cannot be overstated, and CIG is working on a new rework update for the entire Connie line, so the problem with those cockpit struts everyone hates may ultimately be addressed (personally, they should just make all the forward views similar or identical to the Aquila). I encourage players to try the Connie in Arena Commander Master Modes. She is currently a beast there (in 3.22) and is shaping up to being a real force to be reckoned with. I hope they upgrade the turrets to size 3 guns for the gold standard rework.
ES and CL look Great! MR I think will have serious issues with a lack of weapons to hunt multicrews. It's biggest weapons are its pilot controlled S4, which are anti-fighter. With changes coming to shield regen and the implementation of armour, both of which requiring high alpha (larger sized) weapons, it may just not be able to do enough damage.
I like the Andromeda, but I love the Taurus. Cheaper, most useful to realistic game loops (at least today), equaly durable and almost as armed. I specially love the front bottom turret turned into a tractor beam useable from inside. And yeah, I prefer the new design language, but the Taurus was my first mid size ship and as such I grew into liking the looks.
I wonder if the Constellations will get a more "Dorito" shape on the Gold Standard Pass in its design. When we have more ship modding options in game some shop should make adapter kits to allow fighters, like an Arrow to use the Snub Dock.
Ive also had the MSR, before I grabbed this one, just sadly let it go due to the no data running aspect yet, so I upgraded it to the Reclaimer! Salvage life for me!! Lol o7🤙🏽
The connie is my baby. Its sorely outdated and in need of its gold standard but it still holds up as a money maker. I love its design right down to the strut covered cockpit! I often use those struts to block the sun and when i fly anything else i legit miss that ability. Its designed by a star trek designer supposedly and it sure does show. It looks somewhere between klingon and federation.
I think the constellation line are decent ships in that they allow for some flexibility in game play styles for a small group. I agree that some of the design choices are questionable at best. I also agree that it is in dire need of a gold standard review. It looks and feels unfinished.
This ship was too buggy for too long. The cargo elevator let cargo (bodies with armor) fall thru, bed sleep didn't work and the stub fighter wouldnt launch. I was happy to upgrade from it and move away.

yeah the 3 seats in front i would leave as is, but would make the turrets remote usable by copilots lol way less clutter on bridge too then.

i picked the corsair over the andromeda, if they gold standard the connie and fix the front window to be less obstructed and i’ll probably get one

I honestly prefer the Connie Taurus over the Andromeda, just because of how big its cargo bay is.
I hate that it still has got a useless snub fighter as parasite craft. It should have a fully capable ferry with a QD on board, like a smaller Pisces.
I mean it's no Taurus... but it will do in a pinch.
