- Lots got done in this latest video. We are coming down to crunch time on the build and I am concentrating on getting this bus on the road more than I am filming. I hope you enjoy!

I can see it now - Jim, Chris, & Wess Skoolie Design & Production.
There will be a waiting list.
I don't think we could pay Jim enough to do this again, haha.
Using ALL these great video documents from Chris, Jim, Wess, Jax (and the great interior decorating on funforlouis 40' U.S. Bus) builds for my build in the next few years.
Very inspired!
Looking amazing, guys!
The following with this communitu is only snowballing. Eventually to the point where they could start their own rig building business (like the one in Denver where Jax is building his Veg-Oil Rig), if they wanted to do it?? Hiring guys like me to help build rigs if they don't want to do the gruntwork. Understandable. Jim wants to retire. He's built enough stuff, haha.
The Off Grid Skoolie ,it’s not a pressure regulator, it’s a governor for cut out at 125psi .
The old stove/oven looks great and I really love your self driving buffer technique.
Bin watching you Jim and Debbie and me and my caught the schoolie bug we plan on starting our bus build in 2019 keep up the Awesome work good job! George and Kelley Acevedo . And Chico from Tampa FL. God bless and see you on the road soon!
I lived in a bus for 8 years with everything I had in my house. I love the way Wess , waits for instruction, smart man.
By far, the most thoughtful, well planned build I have watched. Totally enjoy your videos.
This is absolutely awesome... I hope one day to have something to travel in.
I like the "Automatic Buffer" feature while you check your phone! Looking really nice brother!
Thanks bud!
how lucky you were to meet them they seem like such lovey people .....
Great build! Jim & Wes are forces to be reckoned with! Love the videos..
Chris, it's looking good! LOVE the stove and shower.
Everything looks like it’s coming together.
Really like the music you choose for your videos. Also, like to see you coming closer to completing the build, it'll be a great home.
👍🏻👍🏻 I could visualized this transformation is going to be gorgeous 💖💖💖💖💖
Love the map and the look of that stove. Y'all are doing a great job.😎👍💕🐾💕
progress is becoming increasingly interesting day by day, please upload some tomorrow
Looking Amazing Chris.. You have Done A Great Job...
I'm glad you have a lot of storage Chris because I remember how messsy you can be. There will be no excuses for not putting everything back in its place. And if you don't keep the bus tidy, I'm gonna put in a call to your old friend Savannah. LOL! 😱😆🤣
It’s coming along very nicely. 👍🏻
i have a stupid question. why would you not install the ceiling prior to all the cabinets?
It's not a stupid question. That ceiling work is going to be an arduous task to say the least. I can't wait to see how long it will take.
Mainly because I am still getting the wiring figured out. When I left AZ, I left the electrician that helped with the first part of wiring.
Getting near the end. Looking forward to seeing new traveling videos.
As Wes would know for certain, make sure your brakes are in good shape before any road trip! Looking great Chris!
I'd do a drawer bank where Jim was saying, making the bottom drawer for files like you see in RV desk units. You'll need a few drawers for junk, office supplies and electronics. Busses are pretty stout, but still, try to keep the heavy stuff as low to the floor as makes sense.
Chris with that stove top if the chrome is scratched and if you want it perfect you can always send it out to be re-chromed might be a bit pricey around 150 I would think. I have done that with older hard to get items before and it always turns out better than new its always been a better chrome coating than oem.
For future reference, applying maps - like you did - goes Much better, if you start by ironing them under a sheet, on that sweet, flat plywood you are using. Next, you cut a piece of 2 or 3 inch PVC pipe to the right width, and roll the map onto it, from the bottom up. Slather a thick coat of epoxy on the surface of your counter and, starting with the top edge, position the map, and gently roll it onto the surface. Using a dry roller, ease the map down to the surface, forcing out bubbles and excess epoxy. If you use a slow drying epoxy, once you get the map secured, pour the salvaged epoxy on top, and brush it over the surface. I have done this using charts on boats. As for coins, I use coins from all over the world. They are easy to get, now, with the help of the internet, and UA-cam.
Thanks for the heads up, lessons learned.
Chris, take a deep breath brother, you look stressed as hell. The pace is goiing quickly, and I'm certain everyone wants to be done. Manage the pace to control quality! That oven turned out great and the price was perfect. I'm excited for you!!! w.w.
Looking awesome can't wait to see the rest. 🚌
Coming along nicely
These busses are so well built, and solidly insulated, I wonder if you could buy a lot of water tight seals and make a
Submarine Bus!
Using a giant old airstream body, and welding a bus inside of it?
Or is this just a hippy pipe dream? haha.
Jim is a Gem....Gem Zeppelin.....thanks Gem for being a Jim.....Jim Zeppelin.
Nice find on the gas stove/oven- feels good repurposing to as good as new for $45
_c_ool bus! Coming along nicely. Lookin' great!
You mentioned a diesel tank to be installed inside the bus on a shelf. Diesel heat is a great idea and works very well in my coach., Wouldn't it be better for you to have a fuel feed from your main tank w/fuel pump.? That would eliminate the smell and space needed for the interior tank.
Looks like Chris Travels will be happening before too much longer. I'm happy for your progress Chris. BTW I noticed in Jim's last post, Kobuck was wearing the cone of shame. Hope he is alright.
Awesome Job Chris
I support you from Japan
Please do your best🤗
Thanks for watching, I hope to visit there someday.
Please explain.
You are creating a detailed work of art. How do you explain the value to an insurance agent to get it properly covered? This is not the typical skoolie.
Working on that, may go with an antique insurer.
How about a space between both windows to sit and the desktop go from the little wall over to the left. Put cabinets below under each window that way they are out for f the way
The Push is on'.

buy more stuff!!"

good luck with 👀🤔🤩🐕✌
The air system by law is supposed to be at 30 pounds the park break engages at 60 pounds the alarm goes off so it gives you time to stop at 90 pounds the governor starts the compressor and at 120 pounds the governor stops the compressor and discharges the Bendix box. If the cartridge in the Bendix box (air dryer) is old and gunky it won't let the tanks charge. A bad governor will also not let it charge. easy change.
Your stove is really shining. Did the previous owners say what brand camper it came out of?
Brake chambers on air brakes tend to leak over time bc the pancake gets dry and cracks. Might want to inspect the brake chambers and airlines. My 3 year old semi can typically hold air for about a week before the air leaks out enough to set the brakes. That's pretty typical of air systems for trucks. You might get less bc of your bus being older.
@Doug McGinn the air bags last well over 500k miles. It's the brake chamber diaphragm that usually begin to leak 3-5 yrs on a semi. One a school bus w all those stops, I imagine the pancake wears out much faster. Easy fix and they are like $5. Unless it's the upper diaphragm than u need to replace the whole chamber or just piggyback. As a side note, if your rv is parked in heavy wind, those airbags will drop your air pressure from the rocking and the leveling valve adding and releasing air from the various bags.
That's a nice map don't ruin it with Penny's. Fact do the whole top maps. Your a Nomad right! You follow the road I think Chris maps that old should be shown.
I hope you're getting enough sleep, Chris. Still a handsome devil but a tired looking one.
Hey Chris! It's looking good! Actually great! You are doing a great job! You've got a great mentor's there too! Very well thought out! Love the map idea too! I know you are really busy, I appreciate you sharing video and ideas! We all can learn from each other! [I'm doing a Blue Bird Conv to RV also, but different situation, someday you can check out my video if you want. [pretty bad, but you'll get the idea! I'll learn about editing and that part later] [I'm very busy too! but you get to see anyway]. So God bless you, and your journey, and look forward to seeing more sometime.
There has to be more to that diesel fired furnace. Diesel STINKS and you're storing it inside? I like the channel btw :)
For what it's worth, I honestly think you shouldn't put any coins on the map. It'll look fantastic with just the epoxy on it.
Cool s cool bus
Are you using an RV refrigerator?
Nope, residential. Going big on the battery bank
No bathroom?
I, want one
👍🏾
skip the coins unless they are maybe the same year as the map.
the air Governor goes bad all the time.. there low cost units . keep a back up 1 in the RV at all time . make sure the air dryer is ready to go before you pull out . you may need a new 60$ airfilter . the sand from where your at gets into every thing .keep a backup reman kit for the air compressor as wellas most are 12$ . if we ever meat up 1 day i well help you fix many things if you want . not sure why you did not get all the inside of the roof done . hard to fill in around cabinets .
WHERE is the spot for your kitchen trash? RV designers never leave any or enough space for a trash can, however, understandable since it's women who do most of the cleaning, and men do the designing and trash is not thought of. I'm surprised Debbie hasn't suggested a spot for trash. From living on the road you must remember the challenge of trash so it isn't a big sack in the middle of the floor. Ideally a place in the back or bath and one in the kitchen area. It's awesome the progress you are making ! There are shields that fit under the cooking grids to protect and give easy clean up from spill overs.
recycling bins too.
I was going to add 'recycling bins' but I couldn't remember if him and G recycled. I recall their challenge of what to do with trash, especially when Kobuc was a younger.
I plan on adding it as a pull out under the sink :-)
Excellent Idea, I love the slide outs..
The dog cage door looked fugly...
Some of the words you use Chris and how you use the make me think your a Vet, are you?
Your cabinet construction method looks weak. Even though the face frame helps the brad gun joints are weak. I would have used dado rabbit joint or at least pocket screw joins. The problem your will have more stress applied in a moving vehicle than a stationary home.
When you build your bus be sure to send over video of how you did it :-)
Doug mcginn/ Sure doesn't make it right, glue as you know dries out then falls out, so the proper and proven way is to have the sides dated out for the shelves to have proper support, but I guess there's the half assed way. Have a splendid day !
@@1armedguy4 LOL. Dado joints are just *ONE* of *several* joinery methods. Sure, some are stronger than others, but choosing the glue and butt-nail or butt-screw method does not DEFINE a job as "half-assed". Half assed implies poor quality, ineptness, lack of effort, or asinine.
You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but the people actually DOING the work, decided their method would be sufficient for their purposes. You can disagree with the method used all you like, but if the owner is happy with it, and they performed the chosen method properly, without short cuts, then anyone else's criticism means *nothing*. The only possible scenario in which right or *wrong* applies, is if the cabinets fall apart and come crashing down.
In the mean time, I'm sure Chris wouldn't mind if you posted a link to your UA-cam channel, and the video of *your* Skoolie build. The point is, any of us critics are free to build *our* skoolie cabinets any way we choose, and be sure to post it on UA-cam for the world to see. And also be sure to enable the comments.
shouldve ironed that map to flatten out the folds , might need to moisten it a little to get it to lay flat but you be starting with the map laying flat , spray glue helps with the rest
as for the chrome look on the kitchen stove , you can give it a brushed matte finish using some scotch brite or steelwool if its realy bothering you , make sure to sand in one direction onlu to get the best brushed look
👍👌😎✌🏻
You see how he dumped his girlfriend..., and now he is happy.
