Was training him on leash reactivity and to stay calm near other dogs prior to the phase. But now that he is very affected it has gotten hard to continue the same training while he is distracted by everything. We adopted an American Pit who we call the aloof mellow fellow. He’s well behaved. Walks both loose and off leash, gate/doorway, sit, stay, etc trained BUT when he gets with his best buddy ALL that goes out the window. ALL he wants to do is rough tumble play and hump hump hump. He is soOooo persistent it’s like he’s obsessed. We don’t let them play until each are calm in a and sitting/laying position to no avail… two days of pulling him off, having him sit, stay, calm down, release and he goes right back at it. The only thing that slows him down is him getting tired. And Trey? He tolerates him and let’s him know when he’s had enough but that doesn’t seem to phase Apollo. He is obsessed with Trey. Apollo is walked 2-3 times a day, won’t chase/fetch more than a few throws before loosing interest so we try to get them together once a week for exercise but it’s soOooo tiring for me (I’m 68). He’s great around other dogs and I’m afraid his humping will start a fight so I’m very cautious. Can you do a video on humping??? About a week ago I started watching your videos, I have been watching them every day since and have learned a lot from them. I have a two-year-old goldendoodle, she has a bad habit of barking. She barks at our neighbour when they are in their backyard, she will bark at dogs on the road when we go on a drive or walks. Can you please make a video on how to correct this behavior, will greatly appreciate it.
Great videos! Can you do one on attention seeking behavior? My dog often demands attention from me (incessant barking even after being told to go to his bed) if he's not the center of attention (eg. I'm playing with my child, petting another animal, etc).

Hi, your videos have been great, but I faced another problem. When I control my dog to listen when excited, another dog from a stranger keeps on trying to play with him and being excited, so my dog keeps being excited as well. Do you train your dog to stop being excited even when another dog keeps nipping at him to play? I can't control the other dog from a stranger or a neighbour.
@@BDTraining thanks, love your videos. My old dogs passed away 10 years ago and haven’t had a dog since but. Got a new shiba puppy now, and your ways make a lot of sense.

I'm am not sure what is setting him off but I had to bring him back because I couldn't trust him with my mom. He has been in several other foster home and they have had the same issues. I have been communicating with the current foster mom and she is having the same problems. Now I am one of those pack leader won't take your sh** type personality so I wasn't soft on him but I'm still wondering why he is reacting like he is. I have seen his goodside but...Do you have any recommendations on what we can do to fix the problem?
My Labrador the same but he is not young, he's almost 3 years old now. He just doesn't know how stay still for a good period of time, just wants to play all the time?
Now I've noticed that this dog is already trained in various other things such as bed, down, sit etc. My girl is a 2 year old rescue and I'm basically having to start as if she was a puppy. We've just gotten through the decompression stage as was wasnfrom overseas. There's no aggression in there just excitability, curiosity and wanting to introduce herself. Is the excitability something that you recommend training after the very basic commands or alongside it?
Oof. I have that problem right now. I have a Lab-Golden Mix, turned one year today and a service dog in training. Mix of field line and show line. Immense will to please, extremely eager to work, super enthusiastic. He gets super hectic during training. No problem when we're working on dog sports like obedience, protection work, anything that requires speed and precision, because then I can turn it into positive stress. But when I'm at home, working on calm exercises like service dog tasks, he gets so excited that he will fall into extreme stress behaviour. Panting like crazy, wide eyes, frantic, hectic, gets unsure and slowly starts to shut down. I'm disabled so this behaviour really stresses me out, and I've been quite overwhelmed. Maybe this will help.
I love your videos but as you always say consistincy is the key an you have to be on them all the time , my 1 1/2 yr old doby has come so far but I m on her all the time.
Love your video. I have my second Doberman..my first lived nearly 13 years and was my beloved baby girl who shared my bed and was so sweet and loyal ..my Velcro baby .. half American and European. My puppy I got after she passed at 8 weeks is all European and a monster I love too. I've spent mega thousands with two trainers who have not done well. She's stopped eating the leather couches but is still running inside and outside and remodeling whatever she can. HELP!@
Crate train! Limit everything she does, be the boss! She needs a very strong leader, be that person. Structure is key. Walk at a heel, sniff only when you say break, then back to a heel. No backyard free time off leash without supervision, start to destroy stuff, correct immediately. This is going to take time, patience, and interrupt your routine to create one for her.
This is good but the dog already knows a lot. My dog is a hyper goldendoodle with more of the poodle side. So super hyper 1 and a half year old. She knows sit, we are working on stay, there's no way she is going to a bed and staying to work on the hyperness and her jumping on people is out of control. She's a good size dog, 65 pounds, so it takes all my strength to get her down. She's gotten a lot better on walking but she still tends to pull. Especially if she sees another animal. I correct her everytime but she is headstrong like a poodle. She's very sweet just super hyper and excited. Any tips for a dog like that??
At least your dog comes to you…we don’t even have that down yet (and our older dog seems to have regressed as well). We have a 6 month old minpin who’s only lived in shelters and she won’t come when called. This dog is way more calm than ours at baseline…so discouraging 😕
At 130 (hahaha I am laughing that's the mistake I've been doing. I keep forgetting. I didn't realize. When I don't she stays when I reinforce good behavior she gets over excited again and jumps up. ) identical to my 8 mo old pup I've been striving for 5 months with on stay. Oh my gosh. Never had an over excitable dog. First time when I remind her she does great!
I have a golden, she is now 5 months…is the devil in a dog body…i gonna put her in a day care one time a week becouse i think she need to bitt other dogs insted my hands! Today i was looking to make her more relax and i give her 2 kongs for a day but now im gonna give 4 and also i just realize if i doing something in the house she put is noise to see what im doing and i found that she relax, i think that they are so smart that they are continue learning and get bored…i just buy a puzzle to try if her relax her mind to. Amazing video! Can you please make a video of tips on how to address a young puppy (3-5 months of age) barking and pulling towards strangers? When we try to redirect our lab girl to pay attention to us instead, she is completely locked on the stranger/distraction and doesn’t seem to want to follow our directions/commands. Thanks!!
Hello! I need help! My dog, who I believe is deep down a sweetheart, is constantly jumping on me when I want to sit and watch tv and barks when I say no. I then have to get up and then it's as if he wants to fight me (stands on his back legs, try to get a hold of me, nips my thigh, barks at me, etc.). I try to calm him down by gently holding his collar, but it seems to piss him off even more! He listens well to every command I taught him, but I cannot stand somewhere and talk to my wife or sit on the couch, because he will start the same behavior over and over again. I don't know what to do, I can't keep this up, I can't live a normal life right now because of that…. Thanks for your time!
my dog does this on walks and when she doesn't get to go off she screams to no end/ pulls/ and does not listen if we are walking towards someone she knows!
Not really sure if this gets the point across. Because you've clearly already taught him the commands you are saying. Yes dogs will do what you basically have taught them. This needs to be shown when you didn't teach the dog anything. That's the real nutty phase. This is calm compare my puppy lol
My dog is 10 tomes more excitable than Kona and acts the same with other dogs and humans and the excitement level she hears nothing so what is next step
Bless that dogs heart...I could see him trying. That was sweet. He'll get it...it'll just take some time.

You sent him to his bed what if my dog won’t do the stay even. It takes ages for her to sit and be calm
First time when I remind her she does great!
ok but if the dog i need help with doesnt respond to commands at all
we have a dog for you !!!! how can we contact you?
I've seen you have a Rhodesian in some clips. I hear they're naturally pretty excitable . Would you train those the same way?
Also, thanks for all the great info 🙏🏾👏🏾
I am having so much trouble with my young dog. Will this dog ever learn to control her self???

Like you i wonder if mine dog learn how to be more relax becouse its stressing me out
Amazing video! Can you please make a video of tips on how to address a young puppy (3-5 months of age) barking and pulling towards strangers? When we try to redirect our lab girl to pay attention to us instead, she is completely locked on the stranger/distraction and doesn’t seem to want to follow our directions/commands. Thanks!!
Check out some of Joel's videos on this channel about preparing/training for off-leash walking--that could address your situation in part.
Thanks for your time!
my dog does this on walks and when she doesn't get to go off she screams to no end/ pulls/ and does not listen if we are walking towards someone she knows!
you always have alot of dogs. how do you keep fleas at bay?
I would think they all have had their monthly flea and tick treatment
Not really sure if this gets the point across. Because you've clearly already taught him the commands you are saying. Yes dogs will do what you basically have taught them. This needs to be shown when you didn't teach the dog anything. That's the real nutty phase. This is calm compare my puppy lol
My 3 month Belgian Tervuren has a lot of energy and it is always biting. I tried a lot of things I saw in your videos but it doesn't work.
Watch “the satiation method” video
@@BDTraining I've watched almost every video of you. He gets bored with toys. it has a very intense prey drive.
@@destined_to_die6668 take her out on a long line with a flirt pole and exercise her, and have fun. Then do some training.
So hard for my dog. I think he has ADHD . He skids all around on the floor in circles twirling his head and everything.
This dog is already semi trained. I'm just started with a puppy. All she does is bit my hand and launches at my face.
How's she rn?
This doesn’t help me cuz I have a new dog who’s hyper and she doesn’t know the other commands
My dog is 10 tomes more excitable than Kona and acts the same with other dogs and humans and the excitement level she hears nothing so what is next step
Ok not fair this fog is already trained 😕
