For those who don't know, this is a Boss BD-2 clone with the Keeley mod installed in it. If you like the BD-2 and want one with a Keeley mod in it, this is an easy and less expensive way to get it. Warning: like ALL Mooer pedals there's no battery compartment. DC power only.
If I was putting in front of a tube amp, I'd choose the Hustle Drive (aka OCD clone) if i was putting in front of a solid state amp I'd pick the Blues Mood. The Blues mood is more of a fuzz pedal, while the Hustle Drive is more of a clean-ish overdrive.
@@LincolnFSternHmm. The Blues Mood is an OD that can only get fuzzy if you max it out. Fuzz pedals sound awful through SS amps. Sorry, but unless it's a Boss Katana no SS amp will sound good with a Fuzz. The OCD (Hustle) is a high gain OD/Distortion that would sound ok through a SS amp. But most SS amps, with a couple of exceptions, hate drive/fuzz pedals. I'd grab a Maxon TB-09 and a Mooer TresCab to add to the Joyo American. American> TB-09 (drive low, tube high, tone and level to taste)> Trescab (several selections of cab ems, 4x12, 2x10 etc and you get EQ or Microphone position controls). Then your SS amp will sound good. You can then add the Mooer and/or the Hustle, once you have that nice base tone sorted. A Big Muff might even sound good with that but NOT a Fuzz Face style pedal.

You are right. I' m actually collecting the Mooer Micro Series Pedals in these days. Believe me they are fantastic and also cheaper than any other equivalents.
Great pedal, i'm buying this one as a complement to my Hustle Drive(Fulltone OCD clone). Your demos are just amazing, you manage to show every aspect and possible use of the pedals, played the way it's suppoesd to be played. I stand in awe of the way your left hand works, always minimal movement, it looks so clean and effortless!
I own that pedal! It's FUCKING INCREDIBLE! The guitar sound just passes into it and gets out with the effect, but nothing more, it doesn't destroy or make dirtier the sound
Mike is clearly ...in-the-zone. Wow! If I had the money I'd buy another round. Looks to me like Harmony Central steered us in the right direction again.
I got one of these in the mail the other day, soon as I plugged it in I had the exact same tone as the guy in this video, they sound fantastic! I don't use a high gain sound to often and really liked the Bd-2 keeley mod but was after a cheaper option. Built great and is a total keeper, only prob I had was the line on the vol and tone knob are a little hard to see other than that it's very, very good. I would love to see a side by side comparison with an actual boss bd-2 keeley mod.
Man, these little pedals are sweet. Can they hang with a band? May I ask what amp were you using for this vid? I just bought the clean boost and now I'm looking again.LOL! and rock on!
Blues Mood is a clone of Boss Blues Driver BD-2 which has more gain. Blues Crab is a clone of Marshall Bluesbreaker Mk1 the old one I think. It's lower gain pedal. You can check out some videos between originals.
The Blues Crab is a spot on component for component recreation of the original coveted Marshall Bluesbreaker pedal not the later ones...worth every penny...
+thearoom I use the Blues Mood with the Mooer Green Mile (Tube Screamer clone). That way I get nice thick chords and turn on the Green Mile for ripping solos. I am going into a Hot Rod deluxe but it also sounds great on my Champion 100 solid state.
i tested the green mile, blues mood is better.green mile does not bring the sound well unlike the blues mood there is so much crunch in it. go for the blues mood.
Came for the pedal, stayed for the incredible playing. Talk about talented....

You sir, are awesome. You instantly answered my question.
-Cheers!
It's identical to the old Keeley phat mod! Amazing value for money
The battery thing is an upside, not a downside. Why make a pedal bigger with a feature almost nobody uses?
I think so
This might be the best thing I've ever heard this year.
This is the way I'd like to play the blues... AMAZING! ❤🤟🏽
These mooer-pedals are just like Pokémon: Collect 'em all!
The sick playing is the best part of this demo.
Awesome playing. Pedal is good too.
Beautiful playing
That's what I call a demo - brilliant!
what a playing !! mike you're an amazing guitarist
I've just got one. This is the best sounding overdrive I ever had.
Thank you for your right suggesting.
Nuccio raw Lo Presti I have both and honestly they cover 90% of what I'd ever want in an OD pedal.
+LincolnFStern What would you recommend if you could only get one? I mostly play blues and need something to put in front of the Joyo American Sound.

great playing and pedal
Beautiful Sound!

My friend bought one of these and it sounds so so so so so nice. John Mayer lead tone in a box smaller than your phone.
Already got my shimverb and hustle drive, now I want this also!!
Amazing little pedal! Yea, it's that good...
Would love to hear you do a video for the Mooer Blues Crab too!
Best product review I've ever seen. Very cool product too
i stayed long after the review to hear him play some more!!
Nice demo. Pedal's okay, for those who need another OD pedal. Thanks.
I own that pedal! It's FUCKING INCREDIBLE! The guitar sound just passes into it and gets out with the effect, but nothing more, it doesn't destroy or make dirtier the sound
a guitarist cant have too many overdrives :)
The stuff played on the strat reminded me of the music that plays when you go underground in Mario Bros
Sounds like Boss BD-2. I like it!!
Just brought one of these, still waiting for the power supply to arrive. Can't wait to try it after hearing this...😁

@ Jazzer: Take a tooth pick and some white out and fill the little indicator indentation on the small pots. It's easier to see your settings that way.
Very, very, gooood!
soo sensitive had to order 2!!😎😎
UFFFF MATE, YOU PLAY SO FUCKING GOOD... THANKS FOR THIS REVIEW, I JUST BOUGHT ONE OF OF THESE.

Thanks. Lollar Dirty Blondes... Came stock in the guitar
Awesome review and playing....SOLD!
you got me there bro ...
Demo 👌👌👌👌👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
is it Boss BD2 on a small enclosure ?
Man, these little pedals are sweet. Can they hang with a band? May I ask what amp were you using for this vid? I just bought the clean boost and now I'm looking again.LOL! and rock on!
That Tele at 3:30.... PHWOAR!!!
great vídeo !!!!
Are you playing originals or covers? Because I want to listen to more music like the song you play at 1:53 in this video!
Hate to be off topic, but what strings/gauges are you using? Thanks, awesome demo!
Yeah. Just for this video...
-Mike
Hey Great touch,,tell me,, what pups has the strat? thanks, excellent videos
What's the difference between Mooer's Blues Mood and their Blues Crab pedal?

as is the black box overdrive, but is more money.
I don't know you in person, but it seems that you had some fun doing this demo... So, do you like it as much as the Green Mile and the Cruncher?
That tele is so shiny I can see the rest of the internet in it!
It's the modded person that's pretty highly saught after.
how would you compare this and the juicer? for boosting driven amp situations...awesome chanel btw!
Did you have representatives in Brazil ? Need one?.....
Anyone know how this pedal compares to a Keeley modded Boss BD-2? :)
I'd give my left arm to be able to play like that ....oh wait!
how would this compare to the Blue Crab???
vaya manera de tocar mas guapa, me apunto el primer lick jaja
How Wold this Compare to the Green Mile from Mooer? Because both sound awsome!
Blues mood is a clone of Boss driver while green mile is a clone of Ibanez tube screamer style TS9 copy
What would stack well with this pedal in front for solos, I tried the hustle drive but it's a little to low end, it booms to much.. Thx
+thearoom I use the Blues Mood with the Mooer Green Mile (Tube Screamer clone). That way I get nice thick chords and turn on the Green Mile for ripping solos. I am going into a Hot Rod deluxe but it also sounds great on my Champion 100 solid state.
So Mike... what is the verdict: this or the MI Audio Blues Pro?
Refined BD-2
Did you write all these tunes?
I'm using D'addario 10's
is it buffered?
what guitar
I got thin sounding strat, can the fat mode fatten up the sound on my strat?
I use it for both humbuckers and single coils (tele bridge and SG P-90s) and love the sound out of it even without using fat mode.
Hi anyone who tried using green mile and blues mood together for a solo drive?
i tested the green mile, blues mood is better.green mile does not bring the sound well unlike the blues mood there is so much crunch in it. go for the blues mood.
