You could have just taken the top of the air box loose on that one side and just separated the thermostat housing without taking all those hoses loose.
Great, thanks. A hose awl will help remove hoses from the tube they fit on. My car doesn't overheat, though, so maybe I don't need to replace thermostat. My heater isn't working, that's my problem. Replaced heater control valve, as in another video you made. Maybe heater core? Or maybe need to take longer trying to bleed system? Don't know for sure if it is bleed completely. Did feel slight heat from hose going into heater core, but one coming out is cold. So probably heater core? Need to find video on replacing that. Thanks again.
hey man thanks for the video,am having issues with my lincoln ls v8 its over heating i just want to know if the car will work perfectly if i uninstall the thermostat,as in if the car will work if i remove it completely b/cos cars in my region don't require thermostat to work due to our climate condition.Nigeria
Hey just wanted to say thank you for your videos. I have a 2002 lincoln ls and I am going to switch to full synthetic oil this weekend and changing out the thermostat. One question though. Did you flush out your radiator when you changed your thermostat?
@-mifanointed: my 2002 ls is overheating after several kms, once temp hits half way it starts climbing faster and faster till car shuts off.. as it is overheating no heat is getting to the top of the engine so i thought i would start with the thermostat, but upon starting this i noticed that the hose that connects into where that screw is is not connected.. ( the screw you said you lost and had to replace the whole piece for $250) do you think that is the problem or still probably the thermostat
Great videos thanks for all the help theres not a lot of other people doing vids on these cars
Great video. You are a great teacher.
