Chris could make the bears, the sasquatches and anything else out there to come and sit down and listen attentively to his stories, with his peaceful voice, beautiful surroundings and captivating telling of these accounts! 😅
Hello there Chris, haha neat way of getting that coffee commercial in there. I think it won't be too long before they will be publicly acknowledged all over the world. Why did those Ole Bigfoot have to spoil those two guys camp out. You'd think they would have better manners😅 I don't hike much anymore but I sure used t o. Chris I sure enjoy your narration about this subject. Neat old campus tent you got there and sure looked comfortable. Thanks as always and see you on the next one and God bless you.❤
Thanks Chris. You notice that every time someone has an unusual story no one believes it? No matter how credible the storyteller. The stories I tell about living in a haunted house and encounters with UFOs get the same response. It makes it difficult to tell people about the weird stuff we encounter, but it eats at you because you need to talk about it. Just my two cents. 👍
I have a story, too. It’s amazing how many people do, but we will never hear it because of fear of being rejected. When I tell you I was scared out of my mind…that is a fear that is very hard to grasp unless you’ve been there. I didn’t have that much fear when some men tried to break into my house while I was home, and trust me, I was scared! But, NOTHING can compare to the fear of seeing something that your mind can’t comprehend. You literally feel like you are breaking from reality. That. That right there is being scared out of your mind.
Thank you Chris! Love your videos! I love the natural sounds - Some people add music but it drowns out the content and totally ruins the experience. Happy Holidays 🌲🎶
Hi Chris, I worked on the Black Warrior river, we would catch the boat in Mobile Alabama and head north. Very narrow and winding, at night we would spot light gators and other assorted critters. I totally believe him from a guy that's been in that wild swamp area. Also beautiful country and down home folk's. Thanks Brian
Great story, there's a short (well actually rather long) clip of a guy that filmed a bigfoot digging out something from a cypress tree in Mississippi. Swampy area for sure. Loved that hot tent🏕. Those seem to be making a comeback from the olden days! Olden days 🙂 hadn't said that one for awhile!
Oh boy! Can't wait to hear part 2 to that guy's story. It's a shame no one believed him. I love your tent and that camp stove! Everything so warm and cozy. I've used tortillas instead of bread, too. I've used them on veggie burgers and tuna melts--folding them over to melt the cheese and then flipping them in the pan to toast the other side. I also think you should get some sasquatch stuffed toys and put mini "Base Camp Chris" sweatshirts on them and sell them. I bet a lot of people would buy them Just to sit it on their desks by their computers while watching your videos. Or on a shelf.
Imagine going through something that only a small percent of the world will ever go through and you’re not believed when you tell the story, I don’t know if I’d be frustrated or angry that I’d go through that and be laughed at. That must have been difficult for them both, great video
Gm Chris that tent, stove and sleeping bag looked comfy. Fun to hear the vintage Folgers commercial. I tried their 1850 medium roast and was surprised at how good it was. Thanks again for your story telling, makes my Sundays.❤🎉
This one has everything, Chris! Old-school tent and stove, a good credible story, cooking, morning snow and a vintage Folgers ad. You out-did yourself!
Great story. I tend to believe that something strange happened around that Honey Island camp; I don't think they were making it up. Good that they didn't shoot, being uncertain of their target. I'm not one who believes that Sasquatch/Bigfoot is bulletproof, but neither are other creatures, including humans. Best not to go slinging hot lead around unless one is sure of where and in what it will come to rest. That looked like wide-open country you were camped in. Lots of potential for exploring there. Stay safe.
Dude, I love Base Camp Chris! He's got the most welcoming and comforting voice for these stories, it always puts me at ease and makes you feel cozy. Kinda reminds me of the way my grandfather(not that he's old, I'm probably only 7-10 years younger😂)used to tell stories around the fireplace. Love it, keep em coming Chris!
He's not a storyteller but The Craftsman Steady Crafting also has a GREAT voice you can just listen to for hours. These two UA-cam channels are the most relaxing things on the platform in my opinion, and I'd highly recommend both. Chris from when you're in the mood for a story, and Craftsman for when you need inspiration for a DIYS project (mostly toys).
I am more scared of gators and snakes than Sasquatch... or maybe both are equally scary to me. Thank you, Thomas, for sharing your story... I believe you! Thank you, Chris, for skillfully recounting the story! I love the cool tent and the nice woodburning stove... I also love to watch you cook. The campsite was beautiful😊
My dad used to take a boat out to farm an island on the Mississippi River near the boot heel of Missouri. He hired my uncle and his family to go live on the island but the first night, they got spooked by “bears” and left the next morning. I’m beginning to think it might have been a big foot.
Thanks for this excellent and terrifying story, Chris! Seeing the tent setup and watching you cook dinner really enhanced the entire experience. So did the 1970s Folger’s commercial featuring Mrs. Olson (Virginia Christine)! You have a wonderful talent and I’m very grateful for your stories!
What I've personally loved about Chris was his whole "we're camping together through the magic of UA-cam vibe." His 'goofball' humor makes it more enjoyable. 'Folger's in your cup' and all that.
I agree, just love Chris' style! The camping & cooking just add to the ambiance. That's a neat stove too! It looks well thought out & built. Stainless steel? That's a nice homey tent as well. Any Folgers drinker knows it has its own distinctive taste.
Chris, you are such a great storyteller. You try to relate the story as it was told to you. I love your descriptive and detailed stories. They make me feel like I am there. Thanks!
I Really enjoy your story telling, and getting a peek into another persons life. When you panned the area,it seemed like you could have been camping on another planet.Stay safe😊
Bushwacking! I Love it!! Killer stove! I'm familiar with "Fiddling" for bait. I'm from Northern AL., Great Story! Long Night, I can imagine. If wasn't so old and grizzled I would go with you! Keep Hiking!
How lovely and cosy, Chris. Fabulous fire and great canvas tent ⛺️. Wonderful description from you of the setting for this swampy story. Loved the accompanying sound of the crunching and slurping! Thomas really deserved a happy, enjoyable, uneventful camping trip after his four years of service! Good to see you cooking out there. Yum. Cheers, Kiwi Linda 😄 P.S. Looking forward to Thomas’s next contribution.
Love it when you take us along on your camping adventures and share the scenery along with your stories. I already had my coffee this morning but this makes me want some more! Thank you Chris!
Me too. I drank mine then remembered that it was Base Camp Chris morning! Now I need another cup. I went back and watched last week’s story again so as to be in the moment for this second part. Thanks again Chris for THE best story telling on UA-cam.
St Tammany Parish is where I've lived many years before going to MN for almost 3 years. I'm headed back down home now, I can't wait to get back to Cajun Country! Honey Island swamp is known for its mystery where lots of things go bump in the night!
Frightening experience for those two and not even in a tent! Good that they quick went and got the light to shine into the woods and get the gun. Nice looking burger that you cooked up. You called it a gourmet burger and I was wondering what made it gourmet? Your tent and wood stove looked very cozy. Hope you had a nice time exploring the rest of that area. Looking forward to story #2 from this guy. Take care.
Good Morning Chris! 🏕 Gee, you sure looked comfy this morning in your sleeping bag. 😴😪 You have a nice tent there my friend, how many people can it sleep? Your wood stove/oven looked as if it worked like a charm, your gourmet burger looked so yummy, it made my tummy grumble 😋😄😉 I'm just glad that Bigfoot didn't smell your burger cooking and decide to join you for dinner, oh WOW, what would you have done if he had? 😲😨 Thank you for sharing Thomas and Nicks event Chris, that was pretty good! Take care and keep hiking my friend! 👣🌾👣👣🌾👣👣👣🌾👣👣🌾👣

I was born in Greenwood. Know the area around Belzoni you hunt. Wouldn't be surprised if you see one one day. I live 20 miles from the Pearl, in Louisiana, that's a very isolated river system.
@@robcarpenter8465 mom grew up in greenwood! Ha who knows. Would be terrifying but I’m more afraid of meth heads and scared poachers. Those I’ve actually had a couple encounters with lol.

I just love listening to the stories and my other fav is how you even throw in some cooking 🍳 Its also cool you show us your camping equipment Awesome chanel! Ty!
Awesome!! I love your content and am about to watch this! I’ve been thinking about the honey island swamp for a couple of weeks now, since I first discovered your channel and was wondering if you would ever come up upon something from the Honey Island Swamp. I lived until recently in Mississippi (can’t wait to go back) not far from the Honey Island Swamp. Looking forward to watching this episode. Have a great week!
Great story Chris! Real scary! There would be no way on earth to camp out in remote country. I love nature but freaky things happen. I love a good scary story though. It was creeping me out knowing you were camping out there in a tent! Lol. Keep those great stories coming. I look forward to them! Stay safe and warm ❤
Great story. Eager to her the next one. I used to live near the Honey Island swamp. It’s beautiful out there. I went on a swamp tour once when I had out of state visitors.

I alept in a tent only one night and decided to invest in an RV which I enjoyed more. Keep warm in such cold temperatures.
Loved the episode. The subtle coffee commercial was much nicer than the invasive commercials. I never tried Folgiers coffee but I think I might see what it is about. After seeing you have a woodstove you will be taking camping, I have a suggestion for you to try. It was taught to me by some first generation German Americans about a half century ago. It is what they called hot poker beer. I have never had anyone that I explained it to actually try it, but everyone I served it to was hooked right from the start. You get a metal fire poker red hot in a fire, and then plunge it into your stein of beer and swirl the poker around. The amazing thing is the beer stays ice cold (if it was ice cold to begin with), but the poker creates a hot caramel beer foam. So you get hot caramel tasty foam and then dive deep for the ice cold beer. It is like candy with a beer chaser with every sip. I am looking forward to the second Cajun Sasquatch encounter story. Don't forget to write off your camping gear on your podcast income taxes. Plus you obviously can't get there without your sweet looking SUV. ;-)
Love that tent and the stove too, but those older canvas tents are amazing still especially the higher quality ones like the one your using seems to be. Id love to pick ome of those up if i could find one.
Woohoo! It was great to see a camping video along with your story. I have missed your camping and cooking. Being from Mississippi, I am familiar with the area in your story. Take care & Happy Holidays!

Plus you obviously can't get there without your sweet looking SUV. ;-)
Sounds delicious! Thanks for sharing 🤗
My folks use to drink Folgers coffee. Good to the last drop! ☕️ I might even have an old metal coffee can from that brand (holding pennies in it.)
You forgot your Thanksgiving blessing before you ate. Acts 2:38 saves AKJVNT. Love your channel. Pretty place.
Great episode as usual! Chris, when are you going to get some of your subscribers and make an episode while camping and building a campfire? It'll be great to exchange some spooky stories. Hope you can organize a trip to the wild, ASAP. Btw, looking forward to your next episode. 👍🏼✌🏽
That's a great idea!
