Welcome to another Episode of Ross Reviews AU on this weeks Video we visit Jerry with his Subaru Legacy.. Flat 6 Supercharged! with the Raptor kit fitted he's managed to get 400AWHP out of this family wagon! I must say it really is fun to drive through a mountain! great performance..

Thanks for the video, it’s hard to find good examples. I have a 2009 very last model of gen4 and it barely made 100k. Pretty much decided to sc it but I wonder if there’s any alternative to raptor if they are out of business?
Curious on who tuned yours? I have one also running 270kw at the wheels on ethanol
The liberty/outback range from 2003-2008 is the best looking version of the model. They got it right. Having owned a 2005 outback for a few years I love em

I'm doing a n/a "build" on my ez30. set of cams, valve springs, ported head and head studs.
should be good for ~200awkw and producing some flat 6 symphonies
Thats a lot of money for small results. Might as well turbo it if your gonna build it. But If youre happy with that, go for it.

this is probably not the best or most powerful n/a 6, but the soundtrack is unmatched

Broo. I was gonna mention you should review one of these some time. The na flat 6 versions of these are so underrated and go unoticed. Theyre so fun with a exhaust and tune. And sound amazing
I had one not long ago but sold it. Mine was 08 postface. 6 spd spec b. Had it na for a bit and then put a decent turbo on it. About 7 psi on gate pressure and e85 road tuned. Roughly about 230awkw. It pulled hard. People usually go to about 250awkw on 98 which would be considered the limit. After that up to 300kw you would need e85 and head studs. But at 300kw there is still a small risk. But theres plenty of people who have been at that reliably for years.
Theyre such nice cars. Especially with the wagons they have the big moon sun roof. Again, Super under rated. Ez30 is arguably better than the ej. Only thing is, theyre limited with out a turbo. Probably one of the best cars you can get on your p plates and probably one of the quickest.

Very cool wagon
I have the air cooled raptor SC on my 06 EZ30.R sedan with raptor headers and a y pipe delete with E tune. Running 9-10 psi max. Fun cars. High compression means you don’t want more than 10psi with stock internals. Super reliable. Had it on for 80k kms and never had issues. Japanese Porsche.

Ayy finally a Subaru with a flat 6 on here. The supercharger was mint, makes me wanna do it on mine haha. He is right about the torque dip tho, the headers are so restrictive on these cars. Definitely could do with different exhaust and headers and a tune
With the mods on this it was quick! Handled very well

I have this car in sedan form as an automatic and the gearbox is the dumbest thing ever. The engine also lacks torque at low revs. On the plus side, I installed some aftermarket mufflers and that flat 6 sound is incredible.
I had one when they were new and the gearbox is clueless most of time. Great motor but yeh auto is terrible unfortunately

Raptor aren't out of business. I saw on their social media over the last few months they were having trouble sourcing cores for the W2AIC so the ICEZ30 kit is not readily available. I think the nonIC kit can still be had though 👍

just bought a flat six 2006 liberty wagon for $5,500 manual with 230,000 on the clock. Is that a good deal or not?

These engines are great until a water pump needs to be replaced.

They keep acting so impressed because it's a wagon, I'm pretty sure the wagon is the same wheelbase as the sedan, it's not really that much more car.
I think more so it's the fact that you see less wagons being modified for some sad reason
