Conservatives usually lean toward the typical nuclear family, while liberals might be more career focused or non-traditional. Of course, values and compatibility for marriage and a future life are very important if you’re committing for the rest of your life, but I personally feel that chemistry is even more important. Political views can be ignored if both members agree to not discuss those kind of things, but you can never be happy with someone if your personalities don’t mix.

Values. Not politics. I'm not really concerned with the political views of a potential spouse. Why would I? One person doesn't change what happens politically. Politics is something far away, big, and largely irrelevant to my daily life. I don't mind being politically different, as long as we can have stimulating debate or simply agree to disagree. Values on the other hand are very important. I cannot have a functioning relationship with someone who's values conflict with mine, and my values are somewhat conservative. Thein lies the problem: today's society is built on negative values not positive ones. Negative values are, to clarify, where your system of values is based on what you are against. It's all very well being against everything "bad" but what about the good things you are in favour of? That's where I rarely find anyone having answers unless they are conservative. When you build on negative values, only negativity can result. That's how you get people screaming "I'm against hate" while engaging in activity that can only be described as hateful. Fighting fire with fire. It's unfortunate that good wholesome values are so hard to find. I'm only looking for values that are healthy for all human beings to have. I'm only looking for someone productive, positive and emotionally stable, who takes responsibility and who doesn't engage in behaviour that's destructive for themselves or others. It shouldn't be this hard. It's not about politics and it never really was.

I finally got asked out by the guy I have liked for YEARS. He checks off every box on my "Husband must have" list. We share the same political views and we are both Christians and agree on most doctrine (at least all that we have discussed which is a lot). Blackpilled Saint uhhhh not really. Values is usually pretty close to politics, but chemistry is more personality. Values is stuff like religion, attitude towards children. Conservatives usually lean toward the typical nuclear family, while liberals might be more career focused or non-traditional.
Of course, values and compatibility for marriage and a future life are very important if you’re committing for the rest of your life, but I personally feel that chemistry is even more important. Political views can be ignored if both members agree to not discuss those kind of things, but you can never be happy with someone if your personalities don’t mix.

I'm not really concerned with the political views of a potential spouse. Why would I? One person doesn't change what happens politically. Politics is something far away, big, and largely irrelevant to my daily life. I don't mind being politically different, as long as we can have stimulating debate or simply agree to disagree.
Values on the other hand are very important. I cannot have a functioning relationship with someone who's values conflict with mine, and my values are somewhat conservative.
Thein lies the problem: today's society is built on negative values not positive ones. Negative values are, to clarify, where your system of values is based on what you are against. It's all very well being against everything "bad" but what about the good things you are in favour of? That's where I rarely find anyone having answers unless they are conservative. When you build on negative values, only negativity can result. That's how you get people screaming "I'm against hate" while engaging in activity that can only be described as hateful. Fighting fire with fire.
It's unfortunate that good wholesome values are so hard to find. I'm only looking for values that are healthy for all human beings to have. I'm only looking for someone productive, positive and emotionally stable, who takes responsibility and who doesn't engage in behaviour that's destructive for themselves or others. It shouldn't be this hard.

I finally got asked out by the guy I have liked for YEARS. He checks off every box on my "Husband must have" list. We share the same political views and we are both Christians and agree on most doctrine (at least all that we have discussed which is a lot). He treats women with respect and convinced me that chivalry is not dead. Everyday I wake up and have to remind myself that this isn't a dream, he really did ask me out! We have been on one official date but have hung out everyday since. We both are looking for a spouse and want a family. We have date 2 and 3 planned and we both can't wait.
