One of my favorite series, love rate the bait. DC is hilarious man.
Jacob wheeler's knowledge of the history of these baits (and others) is really incredible. This guy knows the bait names, ownership, manufacturers, etc. This was definitely one of the most helpful "Rate the Bait" episodes yet for me. Keep up the great videos ya'll! P.S. Funny thing is I picked up a couple tungsten swim jigs on Amazon made by Reaction Tackle... I came across them when I was looking for something else and saw you get 2 for $11 and they have hand tied skirts so I bought a few. I was honestly shocked so I bought a bunch more of their stuff and been throwing them a bunch but I gotta go with DC I'm a huge fan of Dirty Jigs... being down here in the south I use braid when throwing a swim jig almost exclusively.
Im gonna have to go pick me up a few of those queen swim jigs now. Just for me too that double metal keeper is the juice im with you on that one mark.

Thanks for showing us the tungsten jigheads. Was wondering about them when Keitech came out out with their micro tungsten jighead. I carry it in my tb but don't currently have a situation to use it because of the heavy algae growth.

Me too I just started throwing queen tackle swim jigs and they are excellent. They are a smaller profile head with good hook, weedguard, and hand tied skirts solid jig.

Swim jigs are my go to technique when I really need a bite. For the versatility of it. I can slow roll it deep skip around docks over grass. It comes thru everything. When I need a bite that's what I'm going for. And I make my own and buy mass produced as well.
Im a fan of the 6th sense and megabass swim jigs. I also love the kietech casting jigs. But i only throw smaller jigs like 1/4 or 3/16

Mannnn I was throwing a Mike Ike compact swim jig today and was the only one catching fish. Had a gill flash swimbait for the trailer and I was loving it. Caught like 10 fish and broke off on one forgot to retie. I grabbed my grass hero and got two bites but the lost them both. I’m going to get another Mike ike swim jig tomorrow lol

The Picasso straight shooter with the wire guards is the best swim jig I’ve found to date.
Dave’s Tourney tackle swimjig was the OG here on the Potomac! Also, Jewel makes a swimjig with a unique head design and keeper lock that I have enjoyed throwing in thicker cover, too. But day in day out, it’s hard to beat dirty jigs for variety of sizes/styles and colors.
Extra tip for hand tying ones with a collar is to go to Lowes/HD and get some wire for hanging pictures (comes in a orange package with built in cutter…sorry don’t remember brand). Take a 5-6” section and wrap it 2-3x and then needle nose plier to draw in tight and twist (but don’t over twist or it breaks)! Takes less than a minute. You can thank me later 👍

3/4 oz and 1 oz tungsten swim jigs would be excellent for burning in the winter time and slow rolling deep when they're hunting shad off shore.

Untamed Tackle apex swim jig is my go to. Swim jig and spinner bait are my two favorite moving bait probably. Super 4x4 and versatile

I have found that the D&L swim jig is real picky on the trailer placement and swimming straight up and down. And wish it had eyes.

i fish the weekend, not tournaments. my old skool arkie $1.50 standard jig and 5 minutes with a file works wonders. both on my wallet and bass.

I don't mind that No-Jack hook for flouro. I've got a couple 20lb bags of spotted bass throwing it on 20 flouro. The skirt is trash though, wears out quick.
