Man Mark, I love your rate the bait videos! The additional commentary from you and the others throughout the video beyond the ratings is what makes this really good series great and golden..keep doin’ what ya do!
The most underrated series in the UA-cam fishing sphere. I can’t believe no other people are copying this trend like the monthly lure suggestions. This is my favorite thing you do, Mark. Keep up the great work!
Tyler Berger from the channel BassFishingHQ ran actual scientific tests to determine the best fluorocarbon fishing line and made a video about it - it's a good one, definitely worth checking out. I believe the one that tested the highest overall was Spro Essential Series, but different lines did better in different categories.
Seagar invisx has so much stretch. It might be good for braid to leader, but I can’t use it on straight flouro. I actually like red label over invisx. I use Sunline FC Sniper.
I’ve used a pile of different lines, but Seaguar Invisx, Abrazx, Red Label and Tatsu flouro is the best line I’ve ever used. It’s incredibly tough. I’ve been hung up in stuff I never should have saved my lure from and got it out. I have NEVER broke off a fish using it. 10/10 for me. I’m sure y’all will rate braid one day, but it’s hard to beat old school Power Pro for flipping and Sufix 832 for casting.
I didn't think you could get four guys on any tour and not have some Sunline up there. I use Seaguar and Sunline the most, I avoid Berkley stuff except their old mono at times, and have never used the Suffix floro. Good video guys.
Personally I use Sunline Shooter or FC Sniper. I have used Invizx as well. No issues with it. I’d say Seaguar and Sunline are used by more people(pros included) than any other line brands.
I want more of these!!! I love rate the bate. I learn so much listening to you guys talk. And it's so refreshing to see videos without sponsorship bias. This is nothing short of a much needed service to the UA-cam fishing scene. I'd love to see a video on Rods or Reel brand at some point 👍
Flouro is great from a boat. For shore fishing from Virginia on south, (bass fishing) considering water temp and thermoclines, mono line on a spi ning reel is the only choice. I spent all last summer here in TN fishing lakes. I have a Deeper castable sonar ball. What I found was once the water warmed up, the bass and basically any larger fish ( 1 lb and up) were holding in 22 to 30 feet of water. Which in most TVA impound lakes is 30 yards plus from shore. The only variance was the tributary inlet end of the lakes or larger streams ebtering. Cooler water, more oxygen. There, 15 feet or so was the norm. 20 yds + distance. Anyway, once I switched to 9-6 light fast action salmon/steelhead spinning rod and 2500 series Diawa Tatula spinning reel with 6 or 8 lb Maxima line I could catch fish all summer.
I personally use Seagar products. Knot selection is crucial when using fluorocarbon, had to learn the hard way. Would like y'all to a rating on fishing clothing as it is as important now in the dog days of summer as much as lure and line selection. Love the content and fellowship!!! Best of luck to you all on the rest of the season, tight lines🎣👊👊
I personally and strongly believe, the double uni is the BEST KNOT, especially the best knot for all occasions. Your shoes strings, braid, mono, fluro. It will never steer you wrong. And as it’s tightens, in doesn’t pinch itself
Love this series, great discussion as always. Y’all should definitely check out the bassfishinghq (Tyler Berger) video on line comparisons. He did an excellent science/testing based analysis on a lot of different. He found that a lot of lines (like abraisx for example) did not stand up to their claims at all.
Kot dayumm I love these vids. Super informative and coming from 4 individuals who have put uncountable hours behind their 10 cents. Best part though! Is the simple fact that you got 4 fellas talking about FISHIN shootn the sheeit! Mannn that's what it all about right deyy I miss those days, my two best buds I did this with have joined the heavens. Much love yall KEEP EM COMIN YEEYEE!
Another great rate the bait video. I believe what you said at the end MDJ. If you have a specific brand that is working for you and you have gained confidence in it. That is what you use. That goes for everything, rods, reels, hardbaits, softbaits, line, terminal tackle.
Well, you guys are something else. Love the way you guys get together no matter what the topic. Keep it up. I am still with Suffix mono. Crazy but I landed a 11.8 pounder on 14 pound test on Suffix mono Texas rig. #0 foot cast right on top of her. She fought like hell. Got her in the boat. My partner from Kentucky said it was the biggest bass he ever held. Took a couple pictures and let her swim off where I caught her. Boy what a thrill. Again, 14 pound test on cheap Suffix clear mono. What you think Mark?
I've tried seaguar red label, abrazx, and invisx.... I now use invisx for ALL my fluorocarbon fishing. I use braid with big game mono for topwater leaders... I like the stretch on the mono for topwater, makes me feel like it gives the fish just that little bit of extra time to get the hooks. Frogs are straight to braid
I think on the pro shop size spools of line are better for the simple fact of being less smaller size of memory. What I hate about flourocarbon line is if you try to buy in bulk it doesn’t hardly come down in price.
1 min into the video and I literally said out loud "what??? DC's not snacking" and what happens..oh sizzle stands up and gets snacks..😂😂😂..that's ma boy.."munchie" MDJ your killing the vids bub👍🏽 keep it up ...you n DC are killing it..wheels is slacken BAD n Adrian ..well we wont talk bout Adrian😂🤦🏽♂️
id like to see how sunline compares in yalls opinion. I personally swear by it, the castability is phenominal and I never have issues with fish breaking me off.
The best line is whoever you are sponsored by!! I have several 3000 yards bulk spools of monofilament. I use it for top waters , swimbaits, and some crankbaits.
Intentionally- I like to go as small in diameter as possible and getting away with fighting the fish. I believe you can fish better handling your lure and creating that cadence to attract the fish regardless what species you're fishing for. As a trout guy, Sunline and Varivas is for me all the way! They're smaller in diameter, very specific in application, and strong to the fight!
Awesome series y’all have going. This one was definitely at the top of the list tho. Learned a lot about the whys. Appreciate you guys doing this and please keep it up!!
Come on boys how the heck do you skip sniper? I know you can’t do them all but that’s Gotta be the top selling mid range line. Curious to know your opinions
It’s Roshambo! Rock, paper, scissors. Mark, I use to live in Vallejo, fished the Carquinez Strait for stripper and salmon, and taught myself to catch largemouth bass in the reservoir in Benicia when you where just making a name for yourself out their. Now live in Indiana and fish Geist reservoir in Fishers Indiana. I’d love to see you do a video of you taking Jacob to the Delta for a couple of days of fishing with your old friends, and then Jacob bringing you to Indiana to fish Geist and some of his other Hoosier fishing spots.
I actually use quite a bit of the pline copolymer and I like it but it’s thick for test line so if y’all want to give it a try downsize a size or 2 from what you usually use but if you look at independent stretch tests taking into account the line diameter there are types of fluoro on the market that have more stretch than pline cxx
Question: Talking about breaking point. Adrain said that a 6 lb breaks at about 12 lb. My question is this. If you hook set a 6 lb bass and the fight is on, is there any ideal how much force that bass can generate in a turn away or down ? A Smallie fights much more than a Largie for sure. So if I’m fishing a tournament why should I chance a 6 lb test to a 5 lb smallmouth ?
I'm a budget guy, i haven't tried abrazix, but i have use , red label, invizix, and bassix and xps from bass pro, , and I'm with you dc I throw 12lb invi, on jerk baits all day long
Great video! Being from Michigan I fish smallmouths about 90% of the time and have tried many lines for leaders. I run mostly 8 or 6lb seagur gold on spinning rods or invisx. I carry a small spool of suffix yellow and gamma in my bag if I fish with someone else and have zero issues with either in the 8lb lines. During a super tournament on st Clair I made the second day and didn’t bring any line so I ran and got some sun line 7lb sniper to retire my rods with and I broke off at least 6 before I cut all my leaders off and tied on the suffix. After that I broke not a single one off.
When yall talked about the pline fluoroclear, I cracked up. Those a##holes got me for about 4 big spools of that, before I realized it wasn't actually fluorocarbon 😂
I use seaguar pretty much exclusively, the only complaint I have is it seems like all the line I find in stores or online is not fresh, almost every spool I've purchased in the last few years has had a milky color to it. It's fishes fine until it bakes in the sun laying on the boat deck after several trips, I do change it out several times throughout the year just to keep fresh on my reels.
Flat out , test your combo's so you understand what pressure you can apply. Wrap your line around a bag of flour. Now try lifting it off the floor with your hands on the handles like your fighting a fish.
Man how'd pline make it in over Sunline? Seagar was great pre covid and sucked after. Had 3 different 660 spools of abrazx go to the trash do to random breaking.
I’m not positive but I think the reason Seagar is more accurate with the ratings and diameter is because it matches the requirements by the IGFA for world records. Like Pline is super thick and much stronger for same pound test but probably would be disqualified if say you caught a record trout on 4lb test but the actual rating was closer to 8 where Seagar is exactly what it says so you wouldn’t be disqualified by IGFA.
When does DC start his stand up career? He is hysterical.
Yes he is😂
I’m pretty sure that dude is mentally handicapped
He’s got a g man vibe to em don’t he? 😂
The gill plate is very sharp. It would cut any line.
This is the BEST series of any fishing stuff out there. Please keep this one going.
facts
No it’s not
Sunline sniper for me. Great great line. Never failed me.
On another note I’m in the mono for topwater camp.
Man Mark, I love your rate the bait videos! The additional commentary from you and the others throughout the video beyond the ratings is what makes this really good series great and golden..keep doin’ what ya do!

Boy that shit is rock paper scissors. Ain’t no other acceptable answers. 😂

Would DC and Gman just make a video together already? I gurantee it'd be one of the funniest bass fishing videos of all time.
Sunline Sniper is beautiful stuff but I still run braid to leader ... I can't stand the memory on fluorocarbon.
Sunline leader & sniper is the best. Invisex is overpriced and brittle….coming from a guy who doesn’t replace his fluorocarbon every tournament
Seagar invisx has so much stretch. It might be good for braid to leader, but I can’t use it on straight flouro. I actually like red label over invisx. I use Sunline FC Sniper.
Why am I just finding this channel. These guys are awesome! DC is hilarious, Bama baby💪
I use whatever 8lb mono I can find for cheap at Walmart. Fish don't care.
DC was giving me Theo Von vibes in the beginning when he caught everyone off with his history lesson lol
I didn't think you could get four guys on any tour and not have some Sunline up there. I use Seaguar and Sunline the most, I avoid Berkley stuff except their old mono at times, and have never used the Suffix floro. Good video guys.
I started with Seaguar but didn’t like the stretch that their fluorocarbon had so I switched to Sunline FC Sniper. Never looked back since the switch.

Mark . I changed to the Miller knot 2 years ago. Best floro knot ever!
y’all should of tried sunline sniper one of my favorite lines in the country very pricey but thin and super strong
I personally use Seagar products. Knot selection is crucial when using fluorocarbon, had to learn the hard way. Would like y'all to a rating on fishing clothing as it is as important now in the dog days of summer as much as lure and line selection. Love the content and fellowship!!! It’s seaguar 😊
I love sunline sniper, when it’s on sale 😂
No sunline??? Interesting. I'd give that Berkley a 2. It's better then nothing but not by much
Definitely the most informative one yet! You Guy’s are killing it with these… keep ‘em coming
Love this series, great discussion as always. Y’all should definitely check out the bassfishinghq (Tyler Berger) video on line comparisons. He did an excellent science/testing based analysis on a lot of different. He found that a lot of lines (like abraisx for example) did not stand up to their claims at all.
As a machinist, y’all are killing me with these numbers😂😂😂 great content tho!

Invizx is my go to fluro along with fc sniper
keep expanding the series boys, best stuff out for real
Another great rate the bait video.

Im sittin here DYYYYYIN when u looked over at DC when he mentioned Vicious line 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Born and raised in Chicago. We always did Paper, Scissors, Rock and you go on rock 🪨
i primarily use seaguar invisx, red, and abrazx, but that Pline tactical is great stuff. love it on my jigs when fishing rip rap
P-line tactical is the shit for jig fishing, great line
Your music beat is fire. Don’t change it. My 1 year old daughter starts dancing to it haha so funny
Favorite series on UA-cam. Super insightful
Pline tactical is even stronger, ive used it all and its the strongest ive ever used
I think on the pro shop size spools of line are better for the simple fact of being less smaller size of memory. What I hate about flourocarbon line is if you try to buy in bulk it doesn’t hardly come down in price.

@ClickOnProfile232 SCAMMER ALERT
Sunline FC Sniper, Sunline D-Braid to Sniper leader for spinning, and Daiwa Samurai braid for flipping and etc..
Sunline shooter is my go to on every reel.
Come on boys how the heck do you skip sniper? I know you can’t do them all but that’s Gotta be the top selling mid range line. Curious to know your opinions
Should do a rate the bait with all of your signature series rods I think that would be pretty cool
Jacob took that overhand line break personal 😂😂😂
It’s Roshambo! Rock, paper, scissors. Mark, I use to live in Vallejo, fished the Carquinez Strait for stripper and salmon, and taught myself to catch largemouth bass in the reservoir in Benicia when you where just making a name for yourself out their. Why do I feel like Wheeler always has half a fist full of chew in his bottom lip? 🤣
Great show.
When are you guys gonna tell us the story about when Adrian got his left foot run over by a steam roller? Check the tape. 😅😂
I vote for a Rate the bait, Boat snack edition.. since DC is always eating during these videos 😂
Rate the boat next. Like this so they see this and do it. Cause we all are interested and emotionally invested in these. 🎉

Love watching you guys keep doing you
Sunline Sniper FC, Sunline Defier Armilo mono and Daiwa Samurai braid has been perfect for me
Great video. I'm just sitting here looking at my FLOROCLEAR😂. I LIKE IT THO
I'm a budget guy, i haven't tried abrazix, but i have use , red label, invizix, and bassix and xps from bass pro, , and I'm with you dc I throw 12lb invi, on jerk baits all day long
This is the rate the bait I’ve been waiting on. Keep up the great content.
Great video! Being from Michigan I fish smallmouths about 90% of the time and have tried many lines for leaders. I run mostly 8 or 6lb seagur gold on spinning rods or invisx. Also, I use invisx for jerkbaits/cranking and pretty much use red label for everything else. Great line for the price and no issues with it.
When yall talked about the pline fluoroclear, I cracked up. Those a##holes got me for about 4 big spools of that, before I realized it wasn't actually fluorocarbon 😂
Come On My Dudes !!! YOU GOTTA HAVE SOME SUNLINE SNIPER OUT THERE ON THE TABLE... You ain't skeered I know...
My favorite fishing series by far! Lets get in the weeds on bait casters
That Red Label, for the money, best line ever... never broke a fish off, and dont get hung up, cause that stuff i so hard to break...
For the most part I use K9 Floro on both baitcaster and spinning rods every now and then I use Seaguar.
Been using Invisx for years for my go to. Now im on the sunline fc sniper train because I need something with less memory.
ROCK PAPER SCISSORS COME ON Dustin Lorrddddd
I use seaguar pretty much exclusively, the only complaint I have is it seems like all the line I find in stores or online is not fresh, almost every spool I've purchased in the last few years has had a milky color to it. @ClickOnProfile232 SCAMMER ALERT
It'd be cool to hear you guys talk about the knots you use
Very strong and durable Easy to see when trolling
basix is where it’s at man. for ten bucks you can’t find a better line. I have thrown the berkeley stuff but dang that basix is where it’s at.
ROCK PAPER SISSORS,LOL
Who in the world calls it anything other than rock paper scissors haha
Yo, Marky Mark reppin the west coast with the Pline love! CXX is unbreakable for real!!!
P-Line does the buy one get one free sometimes too. Great fluorocarbon, great price. I’ve never had an issue with P-Line.
You guys are catching fish with a doctorate degree I am just guessing. Money 💰 on the line go to no and if or buts love what you guys are doing 💯
Love this series! Y’all keep it up
DC is going to do rate the food. Boy is always eating. 😂
Rock paper scissors💯
Rate the bait is always gold.
You guys should do one of these for braid!!!
Out of all the floro I have used, I’m a mono man, but the best was p line floro.
BPS KVD XPS is a blend of Seguar red label and invizix. There's a video on UA-cam of KVD talking about it.
Best series on UA-cam get the thoughts And giving good solid advice!!!
After his comments on Seagar, MDJ shoulda just done a mic drop. Love watching these rate the baits.
Seaguar red label for straight floro and gold label for topshots.
I’m wondering if you guys ever stretch your line before going out on the water to get it to lay out straight and get out that pig tail affect.
Seaguar Red my go to!
IGFA rates line for record catches. Look it up to get a idea of how the line companies stretch the LB. Test
Great show as always Mark
Big Game is the best mono ever I tried them all big game never let me down
I’m not positive but I think the reason Seagar is more accurate with the ratings and diameter is because it matches the requirements by the IGFA for world records. Like Pline is super thick and much stronger for same pound test but probably would be disqualified if say you caught a record trout on 4lb test but the actual rating was closer to 8 where Seagar is exactly what it says so you wouldn’t be disqualified by IGFA.
P-Line is good stuff. It's super strong and casts well.
I'm riding with DC. In the south it's PAPER ROCK SCISSORS 😂😂
How often do you use braid to fluro leader on a baitcaster?
If you did any Florida Snook fishing, it is more common for a Snook gill cutting your line.
