AICTE shows that engineering seats at the undergraduate, postgraduate and diploma levels have declined to 23.28 lakh - the lowest in at least 10 years. ये कॉलेज नहीं दुकानें हैं, जिनमे गुणवत्ता से ज़्यादा मुनाफे की चिंता की जाती है। इनका बंद हो जाना ही अच्छा है। वैसे आपका वो असाइनमेंट वाला आइडिया अच्छा था। छात्रों को स्कूली स्तर पर ऐसे असाइनमेंट दिए जा सकते हैं!
सवाल ये है कि ऐसी दुकानों को हमारी सरकारी संस्थाएं मान्यताएं क्यों दे रही थी.. क्यों क्वालिटी चेक नहीं रखा गया

It's completely about syllabus and market demand. If students understands demand and supply of market. The job is yours with good package. Period.
99% engineers study 2-3 days before exam and they pass with good marks.
How will colleges force students into working hard and STUDYING if the level of exams is so low?

That's more bcoz India mein theoritical knowledge par zyada focus kara jata hai than practical or vocational. Isiliye sab lag jate hain ek side mein aur work force available hone ki wajah se wages kam ho jate hain iss field mein!!
Also...I guess u need to see the video again from 20th minute. There the host clearly mentions that previous govts kept no focus on quality of education when giving those colleges the authority to run!!!
And yeah, to counter this, this Govt brought in NEP (previous govts never took the budge to do something for education, even if that's only on paper, and don't argue on this pls coz no govt can monitor and implement any scheme or program even if they have intention in a nation wid such a high population)
But due to COVID, the implementation is delayed.
When students join the engineering to join government clerk jobs then we can't expect anything from them.
most of the top govt. engineering colleges have the same curriculum from last 15-20 years
teachers are teaching with old and musty books and notes which were used years ago
in a field like engineering education this needs to be updated regularly

We have so many MSc courses where statistics is core subject . they get good package and have good understanding on Data science . I am agree that engineering Syallabus taught in engineering college is old standard. But some private college teach new standards Syallabus. They combine two branches live mechanical with robotic. Iits and nit should also change their Syallabus.
IITs have latest syllabus. Private colleges have outdated syllabus and outdated labs.
