Incredible that there is no Satellite Radio on this car....figured this out, after I purchased a Type-S. Even if you stream from your phone, you are at a risk if you lose cell service. Serious face palm!
I was also trying to figure out if this car have the xm radio. Quite a disappointment as I enjoy the built-in satellite xm radio on my TLX. like you said, even if you stream on your phone, you still at risk if you lose service, and I live in an area where the cell service get drop periodically. I hope Acura address this in the future.
Add me to that miss. We live in CO and have these things called mts. We lose mobile signal all the time. All our other cars have XM and works wonders in the mts, but our new '25 Advance does not. Since we have to stream off the phone (XM app) it drops service in the mts and there are no radio stations either. So...better have a good playlist built and downloaded in Apple Music to play music. Pretty dumb. The other miss is the ent profile does not tie to your key fob. Not sure why this is the case too. Car settings tie to the fob but you have to manually sign into your ent profile. Again, pretty dumb. The car is great but they stepped back IMO with the ent in the '25.
I currently work for acura, I can tell u this was discussed and it was agreed by the team that satellite radio is a dting technology, sales numbers have fallen 40 percent in the last 7 years
@@againwthis In my opinion, this was an ill-advised decision by "the team." Based upon numerous complaints on the web relative to same, it appears many feel the same way. Perhaps, Acura and "the team" should've exercised better judgement, or at a minimum at least, conducted some type of survey with its Acura owners. How lame for Acura if this was done more so from a cost cutting angle, and/or its android/Google partnership, etc., versus spewing "a dying technology," excuse/rationale. Acura's main competitors in this segment all give its customers access to Sirius/XM. Not that Acura's exclusion of this on its own is necessarily an ultimate deal breaker, however, when folks are going through the various pros and cons, etc., not checking the box here for Acura on the pro side would definitely be considered a drawback or obstacle to overcome. On an aside, another omission and poor choice Acura ("the team") made in my view is, leaving out the A/C outlet in the rear console adjacent to the USB-C ports and placing a blank cover there. Interestingly, Acura's MDX sales last year were down approximately 13% year over year.

It comes down to $$$$$$ - how much did Acura save by dropping a SAT radio unit??? There are many users out there- like me. At the Mimnimum, Acura should have made he inclusion of a DAT radio unit a available OPtion for simple cost charrge. If you troll the Acura Forums you will find plenty of annoyed Customers ! Acura is the Only One To Do This ! I will say, that as owner (a lessee) of a 22 MDX Advance with the TTIP which I have become accustomed to (fortunately, the Advance model gives you HUD - so with HUD and steering wheel controls allows an easier way to use the InfoT. system) with my lease expiring in a few weeks (Feb 2025) , this is giving me Pause to lease a new 25 MDX A-Spec Advance. I have the option to Buy my 22 from Acura Fin. for $38,500 - it only has 22.6K miles on it and has been totally Trouble Free for over 3 years. I will say one more thing..... I was concerned that the adventy of the new Touch Screen would affect the resale Values of the 2022-2024 MDXs. Two dealers have cited that as a reality. The Used MDXs have stared to lose value from this new touch screen . In general, most people first seeing the TTIP, Do NOT Like it. It ws the reason I took a 19 MDX vs a 19 RDX back in 2019. But when I saw the new redesign of the MDX 2022 - I instantly LIKED IT (I use Love for people) despite the TTIP. Furthermore, i don't care what some other posters say ....The lexus is better, etc., The MDX is a fantastic vehicle with superb SH-AWD, great road manners and handling, ride, comfort, and a Muscular Design - it still "winks" at me in my Driveway. Words of a 73 YO, retiree, in NY Suburbia.
I like your tutorial video,THX. Onee question about using Alexa (I have a 22 MDX Advance , contemplating leasing a new 25 A-Spec Advance) . Do you need to use Moble WiFi to use Alexa? Ihad a separate AT&T Mobile account (pursuant to the 90 day initial Trial offer in August 2021 , I then enlisted for an annula plan for $200) , but also relaized that I can Tether my Google Pixel Pro 8 phone. However, cell service can be erratic (I use Verizon for my Smartphone) , Alexa can become slower operating or erratic. That's my fear with using Streaming for Sirius/XM radio!! Still can't comprehend how Acura as the only Ones to Drop the SAT Radio Unit. You can get an After market unit installed (not sure if it uses the same Shark Fin antenna) by the Acura Dealer or others. for a cost of upwards of $350-500. Man, that was dumb move despite the proclaimed 40% less usage of SAT radios over the last several years. And lastly, I think I hear you be Not so Enthusiastic about the new B&O Sound System replacing the Great ELS system. Am I correct? Posters on forums are not entirely happy with it.

I have a 2022 MDX Advance... waiting on my 2025 Advance to arrive...looking forward to touchscreen. Wondering if you might know the answer to TWO questions: 1) my messages in Apple CarPlay used to ask me if I wanted to "reply" after it read out the message to me. It doesn't seem to do that anymore -- is there a setting that has changed and I can reset?? 2) the wireless charger is a MESS in my current car -- NEVER really worked well -- always seems to "disengage" after a short time. Acura and Apple have been aware (Acura has had a service document out there since 2022... ) Wondering if they made any improvements to the wireless charger for 2025? Hopefully so!
Funny, there are published reports that indicate that touchscreens are now losing favor with drivers, preferring to return to buttons and dials (count me in that court) - this quote sums it up perfectly - "I can think of no better way of describing the frustration of the modern consumer than buying a car with a feature that makes you less safe, doesn’t improve your driving experience in any meaningful way, saves the manufacturer money and gets sold to you as some necessary advance in connectivity"

Do you need the wifi hotspot to have google maps (the non-offline version) work? Or does it just work when your phone is connected? Planning to upgrade my 2009 MDX soon!
@@My3Sons333 it’s weird. You can create an ind profile and turn it off there, but the profile doesn’t save to the key fob. So either way you have to press a button. The auto start stop button or the ind driving mode. Kind of a stupid design for the users IMO.
The 70/30 split on the infotainment in the 2022‐2024 MDX is a colossal miss. For me, it takes a solid 9/10 car to a 6/10 at best. The smaller side never displays anything of value. Especially when using Andriod or CarPlay. This looks better, but still not as good as competitors.
Since it has Google Maps built in, does the car now need constant cellular coverage to have navigation? What happens when it is out of cellular coverage like at a National Park?
Yes... AND, you only get 3 years complimentary AT&T 5G, after that you have to pay to keep it running in the car's system. So not only do you lose the critical built-in GPS aspect for when service is spotty or nonexistent, you also are paying for a Tech Package that then has add-on costs. As per usual with Acura, they fix one major problem but give you some new minor problems. Same can be said for Sirius XM.
Finally someone does the touchscreen review on the 2025 MDX. This was very helpful!

That's a great question. I think it's just google maps that can appear there but I'll try it with waze and see if it changes!

I'm not sure on the messaged but the wireless charger is perfect now. You can actually feel when the magnets start to engage!
The screen goes on the night mode automatically. I tried to set the night mode off but I couldn't find the way. Is this setting unavailable?

Why does the screen look so dark at night - I can barely see it- can this be adjusted? I tried using the brightness feature, but it seems to not work.

Is there a way to tie the ent profile to the key fob like the vehicle settings does??? Find that odd that it does not save that way.
I'm not sure. I think you would have to go to the owner profile then add a new profile and then save the key fob with that profile

Great question. I know for CarPlay/Android Auto they need wifi on. For the regular map I believe it asks to turn wifi on

When using siruis through car play. You can use steering wheel to change channels. Only bad thing.

Can you turn off idle stop/start permanently?
No. Every time you get in the car you will have to turn it off
you can create your individual drive mode where you may chose to turn it off

The only music is FM unless you stream from an app. Which doesn’t allow you to use any controls but the touch screen. Really not good.
