    This lady should receive a humanitarian award for how kind she was to this family dog. Not many people would be so kind to let the dog into their home to sleep. This really is a kind and sweet lady. Our family has a pure bred dachshund and we've had her since she was a puppy. My sister bought her for $300 but my mom had found out that the owner of the adult dachshunds had bred her with sibling dachshunds, which is something you should never do. But, she's always quiet, never causes trouble and she loves attention. We've had her for about 14 years now and we consider her a part of our family.
    Despite how she came into the world, she give her all kinds of love and we never let her out of our sight. We even go outside when she goes outside because too many people had asked us if we want to sell her or if we intend on breeding her for more pups to sell. Of course, we always decline, simply because of her age. But, ever since our parents passed away, she has separation anxiety whenever we leave the house, because she thinks we're going to disappear as well. Every night, when I go to sleep, she crawls into my bed because I'm the only one who feeds her, buys her treats, toys, refills her water on a daily basis and takes her outside. She's been a member of our family since she was a puppy and she is fiercely loyal, high over-protective when someone is on our property or a non-family member gets to close to any of us. Nothing better than a loyal, protective family dog, no matter the size of the dog. dachshunds are very protective and loyal to their adoptive families and they do protect their "adoptive families".

      If there's a situation like this, someone dying, give the dog a chance to sniff the dead body or the bed linens or something that might carry the odor of death. I know this sounds macabre, but animals understand death. They don't understand missing.

    So cute and so sweet!!! How beautiful, instead of the dog getting frustated or anxious due to a lack of sleep, and accidentally hurting someone he leaves and gets some rest!!! Take note all parents over worked, over stressed, under rested, find grandma or auntie or uncle or babysitter...etc.,even in home and get some rest!!!!

      No, actually I am encouraging and suggesting and even trying to open new parent's eyes and letting them know it is okay to ask for help, to not let yourself get too worn out and just try to suck it up, that is what family and friends are for and anyone who has ever baby sat or had their own children will know and recognize it is okay to seek help and will glady watch the kiddos, so they can get some rest!!!
      I am a mother of 4 by the way! Many parents get to thinking they have to be super parents or they are failures so they won't ask and/or they can even develope compulsive disorders, anxiety, depression and so on and it just sneaks up before one even realizes its happening, and nobody really tells a parent its okay to admit your tired or whatever and need a tiny break or whatever.
      My daughter developed OCD when she had her first child, and everything had to be perfect and spotless...to the point of passing a white glove test and a germ test, my granddaughter is 8 now worries about getting dirty and just other issues because MOM didn't realize or hear she was having issues and wouldn't reach out for help and so on because she thought it meant she was failing!!!
      To many parents today either don't really connect and stay involved or they are to the other extreme...overly protective against so much, and/or refuse to admit they might need a tiny bit of help just so they can get some sleep! Even the parents that have the family/kid thing all figured out and equalized can still not know or forget especially if overly tired to ask someone to help!!! So I was simply trying to say hey guys its okay to seek help when u get overwhelmed or tired or etc. just like this dog has done!!!
      If it doesn't come across that way my apologies it was not my intent to sound anything but encouraging to parents that it's okay to seek out help when they need it too...or to even schedule in 15 or 30 minutes that someone besides Mom watches the kids and the same for Dad and get someone...even a neighborhood youngster who can supervise while you rest and are there just in case they need help and thus one still can rest!!!

    Years ago our neighbors had a bunch of kids. Their cat would come and nap in our house overnight! Most cats are prowling at night, but this cat was so worn out from the kids keeping her awake all day that she would literally come over and sleep at night in our place. She never peeed or pooped, slept straight through the night because our house is like a library, quiet! 😊

    Hilarious, as a single parent of 4 children and moving to a new area Iwas feeling alone and vunerable. Each evening a balck and white sheep dog would enter the gate and settle for a sleep in the back garden. He stayed all night and left at 6 am. This went on for a long time and I called him my protector and the sense of security he brought me was like having a thousand angels. The last night that he came to us I thanked him and understood his reasons for coming and leaving as I was now setted, feeling more secure and had made friends with our neighbours. I will never forget him xx

    My adult niece has a Jack Russell named Addy. The most independent yet smart dogs ever. My niece would often find Addy escaped somehow, but always came right back. Soon the longer she was gone, my niece got a special collar with info and had her chipped. Soon she learned Addy was going a mile and a half across a huge park to a house with a pool, doggie door, and wrought iron fence. Addy would go for a swim then to the master bedroom for a nap. No matter how they tried, Addy wanted her visits. Until my niece married and moved, Addy visited. I can't stand my dogs out of my sight, so I'd go insane. But Addy seemed to be so happily independent.

    I had a half lab and half golden for fifteen years. best companion ever. After I left for work in the morning she would sneak out under the fence and visit the neighbors. When I came home she would hear my old truck coming and run home, crawl back under the fence and be waiting at the gate like butter wouldn't melt in her mouth. The neighbors all loved her and gave her treats. They thought the whole thing was a great joke on me. Finally someone told me about it and I fixed the fence

    A dog is a source of comfort, a friend, a family pet if you like but when you're hungry and desperate - a source of food as well. From where I live, people always favor humans over animals.

    I BELIEVE this story. Because I grew up with dogs and there were 7 of us and our Chihuahua would leave and be gone from Fri-Sun,then one day he left and started coming back home on Sunday morning and would leave at dusk,like clock work,then after about 11 mos he came home one day with another Chihuahua and 2 puppies. They came on a Sunday & Left at Dusk. He only brought his FAMILY home twice. But we found out he'd met her and started staying with her family. He left one Sunday and he never came back. TRUE STORY.

      Alan Cogan they aren’t really disposed of when they are no longer needed, some police dogs get adopted after their services have been fulfilled. They aren’t just “disposed” of. What did you think they did with them? Euthanized them? There would be no reason to do that to a retired dog, unless it had cancer or some other health issue

    • @technologycentral8733
      @technologycentral8733 5 років тому +2

      Alan Cogan well it’s not like that where I am, here these older dogs get adopted unless they’re ill, may be different if you’re in the UK judging by your use of the British Army, but here lots of working dogs get adopted once they’ve served their purpose. They aren’t just treated as tools everywhere

    • @technologycentral8733
      @technologycentral8733 5 років тому

      Alan Cogan yes, but it’s not about the bills, if you actually love them, you’ll do whatever it takes to give them a good life. I know it can be expensive, but still, doesn’t mean they should die for it....
