    Great instructions! Got it right the first time, with the MOPAR version of this decal. If you don't have a Quadratec squeegee, a Bondo spreader works really well, and you get three sizes in the package.

    Thank you,great video. Does the wet method make the decal pull up sooner?

    If I were to apply a decal on my vehicle outdoors, what would the ideal temperature be?

    • @Quadratec
      @Quadratec  6 років тому +1

      It should be above 50 degrees to install the decal outdoors.

      You can, just make sure you rinse really well.

      That will work, but doing that repeatedly will strip vital oils from the auto paint and age it prematurely

    I use a credit card or hotel card key when I don't have a squeegee kit.

      Two drops of Dawn dish soap per gallon of water

      You should specify 'Dawn' dish soap WITHOUT ANY 'hand conditioners' or 'hand lotions'...... the cheap, straight up basic version. There are more than one type of Dawn out there and if you use the kind with hand lotions in it, you are setting yourself up for adhesion failure right from the start. I use 25 'LITERAL' drops in a typical quart size spray bottle..... one drip, two drip, three drip, etc...... NOT SQUIRTS..... literal DRIPS. Shake well and OFTEN when spraying the back of the decal and the application surface. Two drops of dish soap per gallon of water won't do squat....it is a fine line between getting the solutions slippery enough to slide around into position, and having too much soap.... which will cause your decal to never reach maximum adhesion, and ultimately it will result in a compromised install that will eventually come off.

      tgilldesign I don't generally use application liquid to slide the graphic around. The App fluid is more to help squeegee the air from behind the transfer. I've seen the window tint guys use baby shampoo to aid in sliding the thing into place. When I do vehicle graphics (more than 30 years experience) I do a tape hinge with judicious measuring. This precludes any "sliding" the transfer around. With squeegee practice, these can be done dry. With the advent of ControlTac and Conform vinyls, fluid is rendered nearly obsolete. If neccessary, I would side with Dogface, two drops of Dawn in the squirt bottle. Most vinyl manufacturers have finally discovered that many cases of vinyl burnout are caused by a mold that wet applications foster.

    Horrible 'DRY MOUNT' application instructions..... as someone who has worked in the self-adhesive vinyl industry my entire career, I can tell you that this is NOT how to do it. WET METHOD? Generally correct - although I would highly question the use of 'baby shampoo' as a surfactant.
