I don’t know why your video popped up in my feed, but maybe the Holy Spirit knew I needed it. 😂 I’ve literally avoided putting on my Jeep’s name for over a year now because when I tried once back then, I failed miserably and had to order new decals. This process looks much easier to do so I’ll try it out soon. Thank you!
Ma’am, you did a nice job! You’re very patient and you allow yourself to make mistakes without being upset. Also nice job on that! I wanna do this on my car now!
Makes me feel more comfortable about installing my large checkered flag vinyl on my car door! Thanks for the upload. This will be my first time using the wet method and I think that will make it a little easier for me. Cheers from Florida 🤙🏼
Awesome! Watching the video and then reading the comments really boosted my confidence. Mines gonna be a lil more complicated cuz it's a tribal design but thank you so much for this. You have made so many ppl happy!
So glad there was the part where you had to fix something. Some videos it's like okay great you've done this a million times but I want to know how to do something where I have the opportunity and knowledge to fix something without having to scrap it all.
Looks great!! But honestly when I first saw it I thought that the White was part of it and it looked AWFUL!!! 🤣… didn’t realize it was the top layer!!!! Beautiful job Ma’am and beautiful Jeep!!!!👍👍👍
Thank you for posting your video. I had no idea you can wet the sticky side with soap n water and it will still stick. I’ve been poking little pin holes in my bubbles. 🇦🇺
Great tutorial! I noticed this video is 2 years old. Can you give an update on how the decal is doing or how long it lasted? My husband wants me to make him some decals for his work truck, and this video helped a lot! Thank you 🙏
I recently sold my jeep to get a new one, and I sold it with the decal still on it. There was very little damage to the decal, and I wist the car wash weekly. There was one tiny little part that tore off, but honestly you couldn't even notice. The decal was put on in June of 2021 and I sold the Jeep in May 2024, so almost 3 years!
I'm impressed! Great video. I love that you made a little mistake and fixed it because - well - real life! I thought you were going to cut out a "mountain ridge" where that little hole was rather than trying to patch it, but either way, great job!
You make it look so easy 😅 Thanks so much for the tutorial tho! First time I tried to decal my car it turned out not so great so hopefully using your strategy I’ll be able to make it look a little nicer :)
The first time is a bit difficult just be patient. The nice thing about the water/soap mixture is that you can move the decal around until you have the perfect placement.
Your video was excellant. I recently laid down vinyl graphics. I watched your video several times. The graphics took a considerable amount of time. Of course i did flub in a few spots which i expected. If i didnt come across your video it would have been a disaster no doubt. Thanks again for the excellant tutoriol. Just a note this was my first time. Was i nervous......damn straight i was.
It's been four years now. How does your sticker look today? How long did it take for the sun exposed adhesive to delaminate? TY for the great video! I'd be seriously impressed and would not expect more than ~4 years.
For the most part it is good, and it is still on my jeep. There is one tiny tiny little piece that ripped away but it didn't effect the design. Overall, I would say it has held up really well! And I even visit the car wash at least once a week.
It should, you just need something to dry the water. If it is super cold where you are I would also recommend waiting until it is warmer. The vinyl won't stick as well to a cold surface.
I commented on the last video you made and i am so excited to put my designs on my motorcycle!! But however, im scared to work around the round parts of the bike 😅 the gas tank esp should be fun 😂
How long has the vinyl been on and how has it held up? Make it through winters and salt? What about summer? I know it expands and contracts different from the metal body of the car
I applied the decal in April of of 2021 and it is still going strong. There are a couple small nicks in the vinyl but for the most part it still looks really good. We have cold winters and hot summers and it is holding up well.

Thank you so much. Yes, a second person would make it easier, although you'd still want to do the hinge method and hold the design with pieces of tape.
Great question Mary. I have only done it with the plastic/totally clear type. I haven't tried it with the transfer tape that is more papery, so I am not completely sure.
@@KatieAdams i've done it with the paper one that is what i had seen that it had to be that kind so wanted to make sure the clear works just as well :-D
Hi!! We tried this last night but the decal doesn't seem to be sticking!! Do you believe it may be because all of the water isn't out? We left it dry overnight and have applied a heat gun to it as well;; I'm about to be out and try the heat gun again and get out anymore water! But I mean today the decal seems to be lifting a bit when last night it wasn't Thanks regardless for the video!
Hmm, that is strange. How much water did you use? Just a couple of squirts of water shouldn't effect the stickiness. Did you cut the vinyl yourself, or did you buy it?
@@KatieAdams We purchased the Vinyl;; my boyfriend watched this video and made the soap/water mixture himself. He sprayed about as much as you from what I could tell! I did notice though there was a lot of water still under the sticker so I squeezed it out today and applied my heat gun;; it's seeming to slowly stick now but I'm wondering if it's been delayed due to the cold weather! Before the decal was sticking to the front and wouldn't apply but now it's beginning to stick to the car when I lift it;; but there's still some pieces that when I lift are peeling up. But at least not it's not just entirely coming up. I'm hoping it just needs a little more time to dry is all!

Can you use the soapy trick on wood projects as well??
I have never tried it on wood, but I don't think so. It would probably work, but you don't want the water to soak into the wood.

How do you do the other side do you just flip the image?
Yes, that is exactly right. Just mirror the design.
Spray the vehicle AND the vinyl?
Yes, you want both sides to be wet.

Can it be done in cold weather or?
I would suggest waiting until warmer weather. Adhesive doesn't stick as well in cold situations.

Or how do you keep them down? Ty

I applied the same decal to both sides of my Jeep.
