Nice tutorial. Covered all the basic things, how to avoid certain pitfalls, and using a hinge. I would’ve used painters tape; but wow,…U made it very Understandable, because he explained everything! 🍺
Yeppers,..it takes a little pin prick ,..then there b no more Awwwwwwwwwww!!!! LOL rule of thumb is you can prick your bubble ,..but never ,….. your turn ,..please leave a comment below ⬇️.
Sorry, but i think you can use your queegee before you remove the paper from the decal to remove all the air bubbles and soapy water. In that way you minimize the risk to damage the decal and add scratches to it and the paint...I there is any little bubble or water in the decal, use your squeegee just on the particular area...
I really would use a spray setting of wider, for better coverage--the pointed spray just misses too much, IMO. One question: how can the wet side ever "cure" with a soap barrier? I don't pretend to know, but I would think? we would want a totally clean surface with some kind of adhesive to bond with the painted metal--no?
The bubbles will eventually lay down after the water evaporates. If you still have a couple tough ones you can pin the water out. But wait a few days for it to layout
Something I have never understood how does that soapy water not affect the adhesiveness of the vinyl sticker and is there any special kind of soap and water mix that she used to do that so it won’t affect the sticker
2 small drops of any dish soap( I use dawn) in approximately 500ml /16oz of water. most of the soap/water gets squeezed out , but a small micro layer actually promotes the adhesive to stick better as it evaporates. When it's 100% dry, the soap actually helps it stick better. The wet method is exclusively used in window tinting, when this is done, the window actually starts out hazy because of the soap/water mixing with the adhesive and as it dries, it becomes crystal clear. This is the same with the vinyl decals, you just can't see it. hope this helps.
Not sure why you are not using the felt side of the squeegee. The rough side can scratch the vinyl UPDATE: Ok so after working in a print shop for over 5 months now, i realized that it's ok to use the solid side of the squeegee. It also depends on the masking you re using and the vinyl also. you never want to apple to much pressure!
Ignoring the spec of something under the vinyl that you couldn't get out.... fairly certain the soap/water ratio was off a bit. I'd also strongly recommend leaving the transfer paper on for at least 12 hrs as removing it can pull the decal back off
The guy doing his best then idiots wanting to slam him. Good job and tnx for the video

@Ian Fairbanks like the idea of your channel - what you driving and what have you reviewed so far bai?
😂😂😂
This video is great. Super informative and easy to follow. And not annoying background music.
Great straight forward demonstration .... thanks for the video
Awesome tutorial! Thank you!
This is the best tutorial I've seen so far
This is a great tip Tony !!
Thanks for the upload mate 👍👍👍

Yeah buddy, I had the same disappointment...
Y'all funny 😂😂😂
Excellent Video! Thank you
Great tutorial. Thank you
Good video. Never thought about putting the tape in the middle and do part at a time.
Great video and explanation!!! I think am not afraid anymore of applying my decals to my car.
Doing a couple big ones tomorrow and this helps me strategize well for it. Merci.
How did they go?

thank you! after watching this your video gives me condfidence to due my own graphics! god bless you!
Amazing how you managed to explain how to NOT have bubbles while purposely ignoring the fact that you couldn't get one of the bubbles out.
If you use vinyl you know just to poke a tiny hole in that bubble then smooth it out

Thankyou for sharing, really good tutorial. Great tip with the hinge!
Can I do the wet application method on any brand of vinyl?
I’m applying a custom vinyl back to my iPad using this method!
Good on ya mate.
What kind of transfer paper is that and where can I get some. I've been using the clear transfer taper and it's not that easy to remove
Does any residue stay behind the sticker? I've see people use alcohol or windex as well, what are your thoughts on using them?
Sorry, but i think you can use your queegee before you remove the paper from the decal to remove all the air bubbles and soapy water. In that way you minimize the risk to damage the decal and add scratches to it and the paint...I there is any little bubble or water in the decal, use your squeegee just on the particular area...
Can you still use this method on a car that's been vinyl wrapped?
So you are using water with just regular soap? And the vinyl would still stick after it is dry?
Waiting 10 minutes before trying to remove transfer tape helps
Once you've applied the vinyl on the car? Wait 10 then pull tape off?
It all depends on how wet your vinyl is. If it still can move just leave it until it sets into place.

What brand vinyl do you use?
Thanks man
Thank you
Serious question - how much HP did this give you?
Better, easily understood than most. Good job.
Good tutorial but the bubble was still there on rear door and was ignored hoping it wasn't noticeable 🤦♂️
Good job !! Ignore jealous people,
All I could focus on was that one small bubble
Just pop it with a pin. No big deal

I would think that the dilution makes the soap act as nothing more than a surfactant, just eliminating the surface tension.
Awesome
Could you use denatured alcohol instead of soapy water?
Soapy water is the way to go. Denatured alcohol has the potential and risk of eating away at the adhesive that bonds the decal to the panel.
@@alexgroger8765 what is the Soapy water mix like the best soap in your opinion and the ratio soap to water ?
Just cant wrap my head around appying soad to glue. But yeah.. great job. Thumbs up!
Thank you it worked perfectly !
Adds 50 hp to that mini van. Thanks though very helpful.
Will this kind of application work on windows too?
Don't see why not that is how the tint on your car is down .. (missing a few things BUT soapy water is your friend)
Great tutorial, what's soap/water mix ratio
With a 32 ounce bottle you need just 3-4 drops of soap. Like Johnson and Johnson Baby Shampoo.
It was great, but I watched the whole thing to see how you did the cut on the door...
me: "you say flawless install but that's a huge bubble you cant just" he wipes it out " - oh okay nevermind" great video
Think this would work in the winter? Or would water freeze rather then evaporate
Did you only apply it to just that one side?
So should I wet the backing paper?
I like this other video where they guy just sprayed soapy water all over the spot. This is good too though.
Should have watched this before I did mine lol.
stares at big bubble on back door
Didn’t work made my decal not stick anymore

@Richard Deckard That you've ever seen.... Mate, we all know that's a lie.
I’m the dry app he used the other side 🤔
Good tutorial, I some how managed to get a crease in my vinyl 🥲
😔 😢 A crease??? That’s almost impossible. How’d you do that?
@@tigeabenton2174 I just did it to mine. Don't know how it happened. 🤦♂️
@@JohnDoe-nz6bk Awww man. 😞 Heat didn’t help?
This has to bee on you too even if the tape don't stick, stop blowing on V.H.S tapes for gosh sakes, lol
He never came back....
Is that dish soap in the soapy water or some other type of soap?
It's dawn dish soap, he says it
car wash is recommended.. dawn dish liquid is too harsh
Dude... what about THAT BIG BUBBLE???
1 single breeze and his sticker was done
All u need now is some rims so your groceries can gleem lol you went way to far for a graphic sticker
Ignoring the spec of something under the vinyl that you couldn't get out.... fairly certain the soap/water ratio was off a bit.
I'd also strongly recommend leaving the transfer paper on for at least 12 hrs as removing it can pull the decal back off
I like the method but was a bit too careless with it in my opinion. Take your time and be meticulous.
Can't believe he picked up the graphic straight from being on a dirty surface to apply it!! Don't ever do that! Wipe it first!
Quite a bubble remaining on the right.... So your method fails.
All you need is water lol
On a van lol
Yikes🫧🫧
