I have a 3x10 section of dry blackeyed store peas growing, and two Mississippi Pink Eye Purple Hulls, and I planted a spot with Red Rippers and scattered more here and there around my thrown together garden. I`m focusing on cow peas and about 5 green bean types all around to begin improving the soil here plus they`re delicious.
Yours look great! Mine are all still green, but after watching your inspirational video, I did find a few with purple tips! My moringa has gone absolutely wild this year! Pods, anyone? Really enjoy your videos Larry, you keep it real.
I got a sheller about 5 years ago. I highly recommend it if you want a lot of peas or put up peas. Theres no way I could spend 2 or 3 hours every day for 2 weeks shelling peas.
I have a question that may seem silly but I'm asking anyway......are green tomatoes a special kind of tomatoes or just unripe red tomatoes? I've never tasted fried green tomatoes....but you can't buy them in the supermarket! Thank you !!
You are right on the border of being too late. I would think you would be alright if you plant in the next week or two. Im in East texas and my chart says July 1 is my last day. I made enough I dont need to plant. To be honest kind of getting tired of picking, shelling, cooking, and putting up for this year.
spent many an afternoon shelling beans/peas with my aunt...instead of tea and gossip it was peas and gossip
Sitaw....Greetings everyone from Phillippines
Grand rising to you Just Burton!

Growing some of your own food is both rewarding and good for the soul. 🤠

Oh I have 16 rows about 50 to 60feet long.
Yes, I really need to get one. 🤠
It’s soo hot in the RGV I came inside at 12 cause I couldn’t handle the heat anymore
I can only stay out for about 30 minutes before running to the air conditioning, lol. 🤠
Hello, also in deep s. Tx. Do you think it's a good time to start my green peas indoors?
I would start them directly in the ground. Around mid October. 🤠
I have a question that may seem silly but I'm asking anyway......are green tomatoes a special kind of tomatoes or just unripe red tomatoes? I've never tasted fried green tomatoes....but you can't buy them in the supermarket! Thank you !!
Just unripe red tomatoes. 🤠
Is it too late for a second planting? We also live in South Texas.

@@ricsgarden7394 I'm pretty new to Gardening. Thanks for your feedback. I'm in Corpus Christi
I think you still have time. 🤠
I'm in Flour Bluff and aren't those perennials?
Not for me, but I would expect they would re-seed if you let them. 🤠
Do you save seed so it they start to adapt to your growing conditions?
The Pink Eyed Purple Hull seeds were from last years crop. I do not think I will save any this year because I am growing the Red Rippers too close. 🤠
Will they keep putting on new peas?
Yes, just not as many as the first flush of peas. 🤠
are you going to remove those plants? what r you going plant in that bed? thanks
I will let them continue until they stop producing. 🤠
@@DeepSouthTexas oh ok can you make video for preparation for fall planting. Im new gardener I always late to plant something.. appreciate it
i dont know how any plant is still alive after today here in the valley.
Lol. Cow peas and sweet potatoes are still doing OK. Peppers are not dead, but they are not growing peppers. 🤠
