FASTEST LAP OF THE RACE! Spec Miata @ Laguna Seca - 2024 SFR SCCA Regional

Running in 4th place during a Spec Miata race at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, I was chasing a podium and possibly even a win. The car balance and handling was on the money and I was able to put the hammer down. On this lap, I set a 1:46.6, nearly 4 tenths faster than the 2nd fastest driver. This was also my overall personal best lap at Laguna Seca across the two weekends I have raced there.
On the next lap after the video ends, I moved into 2nd place and backed up the 1:46.6 with a 1:46.7. I would eventually finish 2nd, 2.8 seconds behind the winner.
A 1:46.6 is a decent lap time at Laguna Seca, but certainly not scorching fast. I'm leaving time on the table at the Corkscrew and at Turn 6.
