Mmo mouse and the use of the shift and control key you have 36 key binds with the use of just 2 additional buttons besides movement keys. I have my action bar shaped exactly the way my mouse looks 4 rows with 3 on each row. It’s the absolute best way to play. This is of course my personal opinion everyone has their own preferences.

For healers I'd reccomend help/harm macros, to have 1 button for two spells depending on the target. Really good for healers with dmg spells or dps with healing spells.
You can open up another easy 9 keybinds if you change your movement keys to ESDF. Then you can put quick reaction skills on QAZ, shift, alt and ctrl modifiers for same. I had Legion era resto shaman on this setup and had room to spare. I use it now on prot warrior easy
I spent some time in DF S4 doing just this. Takes a while to adapt, and I’m still not quite there but it’s working out nicely. Well worth considering if you have the time to retrain your muscle memory.
Would F up my brain too much - I think the modifiers alone give you so much room. Strangely enough I somewhat exclusively used ALT in the past - now I shifted to SHIFT (no pun intended) since it feels better to press while moving for keys on the right side of WASD
Great guide. Been loving TWW, and have been using an MMO mouse for the past many years, but an unfortunate accident with a mandoline slicer has left my right thumb unusable for the next couple of weeks, so rather than give WoW a break for that time I've been trying to come across good keybinding practices that work.
I got a few the ‘ next to 1 is Mount shift+space is either leaf, a grab or some kind of aoe stun like earth totem or Tclap and then I use Shift+W for mivemdnt stuff, blink, sader charge, charge, ghost wolf etc, ur finger already on W so you just roll the keys and ur good.
X is my trinket keybind since classic! Gladiator insignia would go there. Q is my interrupt key, 5 my stun key, etc etc. Muscle memory really helps, by associating effects to keys, no matter which class you play.
Man you givin away all the mythic raider keybinds. I started doing this back in cata raiding with la guilds. Easiest way to transition between multiple hero’s if you just categorize and group spells
Good video. I move my char completely with my mouse. With some thumb buttons, you can do every movement related skill with your right hand while have enough space for all the other skills for your left hand. (not only movement, things like blink, disengage, charge, sprint, cheetah, heroic leap, mount... everything is on my right) I think it´s very annoying, moving and pressing skills with the same hand at the same time and I think that´s the main reason, why so many people struggle with those key binds.
I have a guildie that has gone from clicking and is using all mouse movement. And honestly, that confuses the heck out of me. Lowkey would feel lost without pressing wad
I have the same keybinds I like to use for all characters. If a class doesn't fit into those I immediately don't like it. `-5, shift `-5, f1-f4, and a spattering of nearby keys (+ their shift modifiers). That's all you get. If a class has more keybinds it needs than that, it's suffering from bloat imo.
I play resto shaman and none of my healing spells are on the keyboard, I use click casting for it (blizzard feature) Left click is Healing Surge, Middle click is Earth Shield, Right click is chain heal then with shift modifier and ctrl, the rest of the spells.
Switch to a tartarus and you can ditch wasd and move with the mouse as intended. The key mapping is even easier for multi classing, but still have the ability to back pedal as needed.
Kinda curious what spell you have bound there on the fire mage under 'R', looks like living bomb but that's a passive now right? Loved this video btw, changed by binding in a similar fashion and really liking it so far!

Thinking about trying again but keybinds have always been a pain for me. I am not as young as I used to be and all these keybinds stress me out. I'm more of a controller player or ESDF with keyboard.
I understand that. I played WoW for years by clicking my skills and had a good time. I often tried and failed learning keybindings. It changed when I bought an MOBA Mouse with six thumb keys and a special keyboard. The latter was the merc stealth from steelseries. It has a special area on the left side with ergonomic gaming buttons. I don´t move my char with wasd since then, I do it with my mouse (left and right with two thumb buttons for strafing). At first it was bit like steping the brake with my right foot. But after a while, it became automatic. It´s best to learn that while leveling an alt. Why using the mouse for moving? Because I think it´s way harder to move your char AND use rotational skills with the same hand at the same time. And the area of the important keys is way bigger, when wasd or esdf are lost by moving skills. Another important thing for me was to alter my interface, so that the skills on the monitor mirror the same order on my keyboard. After I learned that, it was very easy to keybind different classes/speccs. But again - it felt wrong at first and that lasted for awhile.

I remapped my movement keys to ESDF, having QAZ available as extra binds. I have trouble with binds over the normal "left hand" on the keyboard, that's where I break my rotation often.
I think so too. I like to distribute the responsibility between my keyboard, MMO mouse side buttons, and the mouse wheel. I have most of the bindings I would want to use while moving on the mouse. Damage rotation, offensive Cooldowns, CC on the side of the mouse, I play a lot of SV Hunter so I have movement abilities and traps on the mouse wheel. You could have totems or whatever there. I use shift modifier only for the mouse bound abilities. It works out great for me, feels intuitive, doesn’t stress my left hand too much, puts some of the responsibility on the index finger with the wheel. I don’t know what’s best but I like it.
Ive never tried an mmo mouse but i believe ur right hand should be reserve for the mouse. Having to use ur thumb to align to the 12 buttons of the naga will not only distract u and cause thumb tiredness but also might influence the angle of ur other fingers gripping the mouse. If u really wanna use an mmo mouse, just use ur normal mouse's button as modifiers, same thing basically.
Also naga is heavy as fuck, theres a reason finalmouse is the most bought mouse on the planet among competitive players in games like cs go. Weight is everything in a mouse. Naga is 90+ grams, that is unacceptable for a mouse in 2024

ESDF is far superior to ASDF. You can access 4 more keys in ESDF and your hand is exactly where it needs to be to type messages-- on the home row. Why limit the number of keys you can easily access?
Never used many keybindings. Finding it hard to get my fingers to go where my brain wants them too. Probably doesnt help i dont use computers much besides wow.
Imagine using EDSF. I know lunacy right? But it does keep your hand from leaving home row. You gain additional keys to use within your reach. Also, you already type from the homerow and use the shift and ctrl keys without issue. So the real question is why WASD!?!? Its because most games when they came out were played by children. Children have small hands. So the important question you should be asking yourself is: "Do you have small hands?"
I’ll put yall on. No movement keys. Only A&D to strafe. Move forward with mouse, move backwards with pressed down mouse wheel. Remap CTRL to caps Lock. Use a two side mouse remap ALT to 1 of the 2. PLEAS EDO THIS FOR ALL SPECTS LOL
All keybind guide start with using WASD instead of ESDF which is much more useable and has more potential. Never gona understand this.
I’ll put yall on. No movement keys. Only A&D to strafe. Move forward with mouse, move backwards with pressed down mouse wheel. Remap CTRL to caps Lock. Use a two side mouse remap ALT to 1 of the 2. Follow his same theory with mapping cdrs and rotation etc. set arena targeting to zxc w no modifiers. Easy
U dont need move back just rotate the camera
Move back is bad as walking back has reduced speed. No serious pvp player has a keybind for walking back
