If they recorded in 1975 you might have a different observation. I think Elton had some medical issue with his vocal chords and he was not the same after. They are great when they are singing alone here but when they sing together ... not so much. Their piano playing really shows their mastery and exceptional musicianship.

Well, I saw Elton John in that year in Düsseldorf, Germany. Billy Joel was said to be ill. However, it was a great concert in the old Rheinstadion (nowadays replaced by the Esprit Arena), though I would have liked to see a perfomance like this very much.
I love how the Japanese audience sings along with the chorus like it's nothing. I'm willing to bet a good portion of them aren't even fluent in English.
